Infinity grinned slightly. "So... What's your favorite song?"

"That is classified information," Delmer frowned disapprovingly, a gesture programmed into him for situations like this.

The two obeyed without even a hint of acknowledgement of Infinity's troubles.

Tau-2: Recommendation: Find the data entity.
    Tau-4: Affirmative.
The two split up and went in search of the Porygon Merge.

Anthony, Lexi, and Isabel climbed up onto Infinity's shoulder. "Whatever you need, we'll get it for you. Just ask."

A data-man flickered and stuttered out of the wall in front of Taus 2 and 4. looking at them like a child looks at a car crash. "Who are you? soulless automata with no hope of ever achieving true sentience. Wait, wrong program, that's the postman. Who are you?"

The two units ignored the question. "Identify and explain your presence and purpose."

The corrupted program seemed to become temporarily lucid for a moment. "I have been dispersed amongst the phone lines of the entire planet for the last decade, since my ERROR." He seemed to defocus again, but managed one last word. "ERROR: REASON FOR RECONSTITUTION LOCATION NOT FOUND. REASON FOR RECONSTITUTION NOT FOUND. Who are you?"

"Relevancy? Who is the irrelevant one here? I am not real, true, but are you? Do you exist where I do not?" He seemed to correct himself once more. "RECONSTITUTION 90% COMPLETE. My purpose is qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq" He stopped. "Engaging sarcasm: Core functions are slightly corrupt. The sarcasm module's on the fritz, too."

Tau-4: Observation: The data being is corrupted.
    Tau-1: Command: Repair it.
    Tau-2: Affirmative.

Bonelle reached out to the entity. "Activating wireless data repair. Please wait," her voice didn't even sound human this time.

Isa caught sight of Bobelle. "My, what a pretty lady we have here... What's your name?"

The first thing the wireless repair did was pull the rest of the Merge into reality. That fixed some of the corruption, but some of it seemed to be not so much corruption as unintegrated data. There was four distinct data-beings present in the entity, each with their own consciousness - they identified as Porygon, Porygon-2, Porygon-Z (aka Steve) and a... Sander Maximillian? It seemed that an entire human mind had been uploaded into the construct with catastrophic consequences, something that wasn't going to be fixed by a mere data repair. Still, the data-being was now capable of coherent thought, so a win's a win. It was now merely psychologically devastated.

"My thanks, although there's more wrong than just corruption." it said, its limbs now firmly in their place and at the same time not. "I AM A MAN! I AM NO MACHINE!"it suddenly screamed, flying up through the ceiling as two of its limbs tried to stop it from doing so. "AWAY FROM ME! THEY SENT YOU! SOULESS AUTOMATA!"

It comtinued to swirl around before suddenly reappearing in front of the Tau units. "As I was saying, problems." A virtual tea set appeared, dissolving into crude oil the next second. "The best we can manage is random action." the creature explained, firing a blast of psychic power through a nearby wall. "It is not optimal."
