OOC: Because I'm impatient. Wot.
Maxwell closed and locked the trailer doors, then got into the cab. The truck started up, and departed.
OOC: Oh, wow! Laughing out loud behind my seven proxies! I also have to leave now because I have to go to the Being-Alive club's meeting.
Kris still looked pale, but nonetheless felt fine. The bouncing of this vehicle, though, is not helping.
Emily sat in a small crowd, listening to Ms. Foster, the CEO of Genesis, go on about how their pills had become a huge success. "Here at Genesis, we've employed the greatest fitness experts and biologists of the generation to crack the best way to lose excess fat. In fact, our slogan is almost literal: 'The Fat Just Walks Away'," she explained.
One woman spoke up. "Excuse me, my name is Penny Dingham, reporter for the Spying Staravia. How exactly do they work?"
"It's quite simple, really. I'm surprised you don't know the workings of weight-loss pills. Still, if you want the science, here it is." The screen behind her turned on, showing a video clip on the workings of the Genesis pill.
"The pill contains a large protein molecule, that attaches itself to..."
John watched this from the projector room, aware that a guard had just walked in. He held up his ID again. "John Williams, Health and Safety. Uh... Electronics department."
OOC: I made Kris not frightened because surely Gracie isn't the only thing in the universe that frightening, and a Romulan's idea of a monster is verrrry different to a human's. Which means she's suriphobic, apiphobic, bovinophobic, omphalophobic, ranidaphobic, and the Elgyem she was Merged with had phobophobia. Which is basically phobiaception. On the other hand, I have a somewhat witty line planned for Ozias when he sees her.
It's cold here...
Scorpion turned around to see everyone else in the trailer after she stepped out. "Hey, weren't there supposed to be two sl- OHMYGOD!!" she yelped, started, scrambling backwards.
OOC: I figure seeing her in a shadowy trailer after you've just been exposed to startlingly bright light would scare someone, then.
"Oh, en! Silez il es ititarv az ujn?*"
Emily walked into the call centre area of the building and approached a man. "Emily Jones, Health and Safety. Can I have a list of all your customers?" The man simply did a 'one moment' gesture and answered a call. She examined a gold pendant in an open box on his desk.
"...and you get a 24-carat Genesis Industries pendant absolutely free with your first order. ...No, we don't give out pens. No, I can't make an exception, miss. I'm very sorry."
"I'm also going to need this for analysis," Emily said, pocketing it. The woman calling the man seemed to have hung up.
"Uh... You can't--"
"Health and Safety, remember? Can you print that list out?"
John walked into the call centre area of the building and approached a woman. "John Williams, Health and Safety. Could you print off a list of your customers?"
"I can," the woman replied, starting to tap away on her computer. John held up a gold pendant he'd found on her desk.
"We give it away to customers placing their first order, free of charge."
"You give these to your consumers? I'll need it."
"Why?" the woman asked skeptically.
"Uh... Analysis. Health and Safety, remember?" John replied.
"Oh, yes. I almost forgot. I'll print off that list for you."
*Oh no! Do you want me to go back for her?
"Oagom mas Vitoperiti s mojn,*" she said, then clutched her abdomen with both hands. "Urf... En, ovarpaz. Aj onravts en ugom.**"
Foster then walked into the room. John hid behind the desk, pretending to examine the capsule pendant.
Emily hid behind the desk, pretending to examine the capsule pendant when Foster walked in.
*I can Teleport to her.
**Urf... No, actually, I really can't.
