Amy, coming from the cafeteria, relaxed as the soothing splash of waves filled the area. She was at the river now. The water lapped against the bank, causing some stray plants to moisten and float along.
She was really energized from the seemingly short walk along grassy lanes from the school. She loved water, but not as much as she loved her starter. Water types were great, afterall-they being her second favorite type.
The splashing and grumbling of the river got louder. Almost as if there was someone or something there, maybe a Pokemon, for that matter. Amy snapped her attention back to the somewhat middle of the river as a blotch of water slapped her on the cheek.
She turned her head exactly 39 degrees left, looking for the creature..
A red penguin-like Pokemon with a sack-like tail swam in the river. It had fluffy feathers on its chest and crests on its head. The feet were bright yellow in color. It was a Delibird as she identified it.
"Pidge, you're up!" Amy called out my Pidgey, tossing the Pokeball up. The bird spread its wing while growling energetically.
The foe spread its wings, flapping as it headed for Pidge speedily in an Aerial Ace.
"Gust, let's go!" The Pidgey began to flap her wings at a medium-to-high speed, whipping up a miniature tornado. The gust collided with the swift incoming attacker, sending it flying backwards a few meters, colliding with a nearby tree.
"Alright, Quick Attack while it is unconcious!" she ordered while the Pokemon was dazed. With more speed, Pidge straightened herself, pinpointing the Delibird. The opponent, though, managed to regain conciousness and fired a bolt-like beam of ice.. just as the Pidgey had closen in with a trail of white behind. This time, the ice had almost completely frozen her beak while leaving bits of ice at her feet and a few on one wing. Thus, throwing Pidge off-balance for a while.
Seeing this as a chance to attack, the Delibird quickly used an Aerial Ace. It swooped at the Pidgey at lighning speed, causing Pidge to fall downwards. The bird collided with her trainer, toppling them both to the ground.
"Pidge, fly up! Then use another Quick Attack!" Amy told her Pokemon as she began to flap her wings to try and (re)gain altitude. Once the Pokemon was up in the sky again, the opponent's wings had glowed as it charged at the incoming Pidgey. A white trail of light was, once again, seen behing Pidge as she speedily flew in the the attack. The Birck Break missed her almost completely because of the speed while the quick attack banged into the delivery bird.
"Yeah, good job, Pi--! Oh.." Amy's face fell after she praised her Pokemon. Delibird had been hit hard, a good load of damage dealt, and was now falling backward to a big rock on the ground. Because of the impact of the crash, it was just enough to knock Delibird out.
"Oh, well, at least we gained some experience..!" she said in an optimistic manner. "We'll try again later."
