"Good, in we go then" Perry commented walking into the elevator as well, praying they weren't too late for Piper and Maria.
"Piper wake up." Maria shook her around softly.
"Alma, if you're done." Adam stared at her.
Piper started to wake up, aroused by the shaking as she looked confused, opening her eyes. "Maria.. Where are we?" Piper asked softly, groaning a little bit as she sat up and looked around at the darkened area.
Calvin gasped sharply, taking in as much air as possible while stopping the alarm. "I would like to request that you refrain from performing actions of that variety on my person indefinitely." He said, going to the elevator.
"If that is a euphemism for his offensive and defensive abilities, then he can't be all that bad. He's certainly no god." Camille scoffed. "I've heard of Pokémon with far greater powers than Alakazam, and seen Pokémon made of sterner stuff than Metagross. I'm also related to people more honor."
"That may be, but he's different. His heart is pure dark. You thought Anya was bad? He's easily 3 times worse." Reese said, she shivering in fear. A Psychic hybrid is more sensitive to the hearts of men; to been near such an evil heart was a bad experience.
"Oh. Sorry." Alma said sheepishly, walking to Adam.
"I shall absolve you if your compunction is genuine." Calvin said, dusting himself.
"So his mind has been contaminated to the point where all he knows is power, and the eternal desire to gain more." Camille muttered. "He'll have a special place in Hell waiting for him."
"Forgive me, Lord Calvin, for the inappropriate gesture on my part." Alma said dramatically, acting like she was part of a opera.
"He's dead, isn't he? Charles, I saw most of his 108 souls being burned." Reese asked, tears starting to pool in her eyes. Chloe sighed. "Were you in a relationship with him?" "We started a week ago. Apparently, his 108 souls were worth my one soul." Reese confirmed, smiling despite a stream of tears flowing from her face.
"You have been granted absolvement already. Thus, the repetition of your request is redundant." Calvin said, playing along for effect.
"His souls were burned?" Camille parroted. "Had to have been the work of my brother's Chandelure. While I'm sorry for your loss, love has no place on the battlefield. Someone was going to die there regardless."
"All right so is everyone ready?" Adam asked before pressing the button and causing the doors to close down in front of the group.
Reese sniffed and nodded. She channeled some of her power into her hands, and bursted free. "I want to be alone..." The heartbroken Amplification hybrid whispered out, floating out. "Well, that panned out beautifully." Chloe said flatly.
"Your generosity knows no bounds. In all seriousness, let's do this." Alma said, changing moods on a drop of a dime, she feeling her heart slowly raise as the elevator went down.
"I have been ready since we entered. I just hope we aren't too late" Perry answered, he couldn't forgive himself if that happened, he could picture it but he refused to think like that.
"It seems like you've finally woken up." Maria turned around and saw Shane being casted with a spotlight over his body. He looked at the two girls for a moment. "You've been sleeping soundly for the last couple of hours." he explained.
"Why are you doing this!" Maria exclaimed, her eyes glaring at Shane.
"I am only doing this for the good of everybody." Shan muttered before turning around and looking at the screens. "So that history doesn't repeat itself." he pointed out his eyes looking at the screen in thought.
Meanwhile, a level above them, the elevator doors opened, allowing the group to walk out into a simple dark room. "So this is the last one huh?" Adam wondered. At that moment the room became completely lit, allowing the group to see the room fully.
On the other side stood Sean an expression of determination on his face as he looked at the group. He raised his writing pad and showed it to them. "I don't want to fight but if you guys still want to keep going then I have no choice" is what it read.
"Sorry, but your boss made the mistake of taking my Maria, and I will fight tooth and nail for her!" Alma yelled and punched into her hand, releasing her Synchro energy, which made her PokeBalls glow green with power.
"This is all for a reason." he wrote before showing the pad to them once more.
"Everything happens for a reason." Calvin said, stepping forward and pointing an Aura-infused hand at him. "Regardless of yours, you'll be sorry for getting in our way, on top of taking them in the first place. Since you guys are Nazis, don't expect any sort of forbearance from us."
"...I said the wrong thing, didn't I?" Camille muttered, looking confused.
