    ~The Nightmare Puppet & The Soulseer~
    The Missing Number, Absolute Zero

The game of chess between Tsaikogen and Tregrenos had been a slow start, but it would seem Tsaikogen is better at this game than he realized. He could have sworn he was losing earlier, but now has Tregrenos on the defensive. Tsaikogens focus on the game, he hears feint whispers in the distance. His attention is pulled to Tregrenos, whome asked "Has your face always been that color?" Though he obviously couldn't see his own face Tsaikogen felt the pain of the corruption spreading. It had made its way up Raaikogens neck and is now discoloring his face. Trying to ignore Tregrenos and the pain Tsaikogen listens for the whispers in the distance.

Tregrenos pulls Tsaikogens attention again, stating "You know, we are very much alike, you and I." Tsaikogen rubs the pain on his face, replying with disdain "I'm nothing like you." Tregrenos points a knifed finger upward in comment "Oh, but you are, and we're becoming more alike as time passes." Tregrenos's pointed finger angles downward toward Tsaikogens hurting right eye. "You can feel it. You can feel we. We are becoming one." Tsaikogen becomes enraged at the thought and flips the table, scattering the game pieces "I'm nothing like you!"

The whispering in the distance could briefly be heard, but it calms Tsaikogen to hear it. He returns to his seat, saying "We're not..." The table and game pieces vanish, returning to their origional position. The game had been restarted and the pieces began moving on their own. Tsaikogen looks to Tregrenos who's right eye had changed colors. It was no longer glowing red, but appeared normal. It was yellow, like his, which lead him to wonder what his own right eye must look like at this point. Tregrenos places his elbows on the table and cradles his chin as he leans forward in rest "Tick tock. Tick tock. The hands of the clock do sway. Closer it ends, the closer we come..." Tregrenos's voice changes into Tsaikogens "... to finish another day."

Trainor makes his way through the hallway, drawing upon a damaged wooden door that was being held together by the tendrils. As he approaches the tendrils scatter, causing the ruined door to fall into a pile of broken wood. He flies up the stairs, now hearing the singing of Meloetta, and gazes upon his enemy.

Tregrenos was not as he remembered. The once lanky figure was slumped over with black tendrils pouring from his body that seemed to pull in and negate all light. Turning to face Trainor, Tregrenos's eyes and mouth had lost all light. His ragged head and once well kept clothes looked worn, faded with time and tearing at the seams as the black, tendril like smoke wafted from every torn crevice. Despite the sunlight shining in from the windows above the room was dark, the light being pulled into unnatural shadow.

Tregrenos continued to speak with Tsaikogens voice, the whispers in the distance fading with each word. "Tick tock. Tick tock." Tsaikogen began to hear gears turning all around him, the inner workings of a clockwork machine filling his ears. "Tick tock." Tsaikogen stands and shouts to break the noise "I 'm not like you! I'm no devil!" Tregrenos stands as well, shouting with Tsaikogens voice "I'm no hero!"

Theme Absolute Zero By Stone Sour

Trainor readies his mechanical blade, his mind still wondering of the burning building in which he'd faced Tregrenos before. Despite what changes Tregrenos had undergone all Trainor could see was that horrible smile. All he could hear was Tregrenos's laugh. With little hesitation, Trainor charges the demon puppet.

Trainors blade makes contact, but is caught by Tregrenos's knifed fingers. Trainors pulls away quickly, producing snarks as metal scraped through Tregrenos's fingers. Despite Brave Birds effect the tendrils coming from Tregrenos were different from the others and daughter out the light. While they could not take hold of Trainor just yet he could feel them drawing upon him at this close range, causing him to fall back. Doubt returning, the glow of Brave Bird began to fade. It would not be long before he was defenseless to the tendrils that surround him. As they waft and sway Trainors thoughts return to the burning building. This time, however, his thoughts are of the fear he'd endured. The isolation, the wish that it had been someone other than himself. The tendrils have taken hold of Trainors fear and Brave Bird has failed.

Tsaikogen watches as the chess pieces move about the board, his pieces vanishing, losing the game. He doesn't know why, but his thoughts were of General Pepper and Darsabre. The labrynth he'd faced while trying to save them and how clear it seemed when he saved Arcticuno from Tregrenos's minipulation. "It's your fault..." replies Tregrenos, still using Tsaikogens voice. When Tsaikogen glanced up Tregrenos had vanished, but he could still hear him continue with "You killed them."

Trainor may have lost Brave Birds effect, he may be afraid of Tregrenos, but that doesn't change anything. He was here, now, and may be the only mon to stand in Tregrenos's way. As Trainir readied his blade he infused it with Night Slash, causing the blade to take on a purple coloration. Regardless of the outcome Trainor had to push on.

Tsaikogen sat, his elbows resting upon the table as his hands support and cover his face. Through the ticking of clockwork Tsaikogen can hear the feint whispers return. Again, they seem to calm him, but his mind is still lost in negative thought. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you." His arms fold as he rests his head on the table. "It should have worked..." The whispers seemed louder, calming Tsaikogen a bit more. Tsaikogen looks to the game board, his head still resting on the table as the fight between the game pieces seemed more even now. Neither side was winning.

The clash if blades echoed through the hall as Trainor continued his assult. Despite Brave Bird not being in effect the tendrils that sprout from the ship still avoid touching the Haunchkrow. While he'd taken some punishment from Tregrenos it was appearent that his blade had caused damage as well. The puppet seemed slower as more smoke and tendrils covered his body.

Tsaikogen stands, walking away from the game board. He had to find the source of the whisper. "I didn't want to lose them." he thought as the sounds of clockwork began to fade.

    "I couldn't lose them."

The chess pieces, fade from the board, leaving only the two king pieces.

"It was my confusion and fear that lost them."

The white king begins to topple over.

"But it was their love that saved me. That saved Wilda."

    The white king steadies itself.

"And they'd do it again, too."

The black king begins to topple.

"So I won't give up either."

The black king vanishes, taking the game board and all of this dreamlike world with it.

The Smeargle finds himself back in reality, mere feet away from Tregrenos. Trainor had lost his blade and now leans against a wall, clutching his injuries. Tsaikogen bends down to take Trainors oddly designed, yet easily understandable mechanical blade and straps it to his left wrist.

Tsaikogen looks to Tregrenos's altering form, a silent challenge issued as the blade extends with a metalic clink.

OOC: Trainors Brave Bird actually did nothing. It was his own resolve that drove back the tendrils, but as Brave Bird faded so did Trainors confidence. He'd assumed Brave Bird was the cause of his bravery, allowing fear and doubt to take hold, when it was actually his bravery that caused him to perform Brave Bird. Still, he'd reached a point where he'd nothing to lose. While not bravery neither was it fear, so the tendrils still had no effect on Trainor. However, even without them this corrupted, unstable Tregrenos was still a deadly opponent.

What's going to happen now that Tsaikogen is no longer within Tregrenos's mind? What brought on this apparent interest from Tregrenos concerning Tsaikogen? Could it be because of the corruption spreading up Tsaikogens right arm? Will Apple believe my reasons for needing a replacement iPhone? Will I ever come up with an appropriate story inspired by the Benny Hill Chase Theme? God knows I 'm workin' on one! :)

OOC: I will do my best to think of a good improvement to the story.

Conner looked up into the sky ,wanting to know how Tsaikogen was handling Tregrenos. The line of Pokémon into the tunnel was getting shorter by the minute, and soon the region will have been evacuated from the poisonous gas. The gas was already approaching the line of Pokémon right now, so they needed to hurry.

"I can tell from the look on your face that you want to face whatever is up there."

Conner looked around him, then finally looked below and saw his friend Historius was the one who spoke.

"Historius! It is so good to see you again!", Conner exclaimed while embracing Historius un his arms.

"it is good to see you too, but would you not squeeze me until my bones crack!", Historius said good heartedly. Conner set him down when he said that. "Anyway, about what I said, I know you want to go to face whatever is up there. And I think you should. You are a powerful fighter, and I think you can help that Smeargle.", Historius exclaimed. Conner looked confused at this statement.

"How did you know that someone else already went up there?", Conner asked. Historius looked over towards the line.

"Word spreads quickly in a line like that. Anyway, ask the Pokémon Air Force of the Safety Zone to bring you up. There is sure to be at least one left after their attack. I can help everyone through the line and into the tunnel.", Historius told Conner.

"Thank you Historius. I will go up there right away." Conner said. He waved good bye to Historius after running towards the Zone, and the bird waved back. After several more minutes, he saw a shape going up into the sky, with another Pokémon on it.

"Go save us Conner...", Historius whispered to himself. And then he helped the line flow quickly, to help prevent the onslaught of gas.

OOC: Haven't forgotten about this story, just waiting on Helioisk to add in her story. To help with some last minute inspiration here's a few things that are apparently happening.

    - Meloetta is still being held prisoner, the tendrils that bind her are visible and seem to have completely fused with her. Her relic song is unending and echoes through the ship.

    - The ship is drawing ever closer to the wall at a gradual pace. Is Tregrenos planning to crash into it?

    - The tendrils that surround and fly about the ship are leech-like apparitions. They are all but intangible to all but spiritually based attacks and have formed the shell of the ship into something of a giant, spectral being.

    - The ship no longer looks flight worthy, but is being held aloft somehow.

    - Tregrenos's appearance has altered greatly. His suit has filled taught and is tearing at the seams. Smoke and tendrils waft from the openings and tears in the cloth. He walks hunched over as a bulge of large tendrils whip wildly from a large tear down his back. Despite his slowed appearance the tendrils give him a longer reach and can be blindingly fast.

    - Tsaikogen has undergone a type of corruption. His right arm, the one he'd held Tregrenos's sword with when he transformed into Meloetta, has turned completely black and tendrils seem to be forming from it as well. The darkness has spread up his arm, neck and veins across his chest and face. The veins in his right eye have darkened as well. It's not the same as those from Tregrenos, they appear more solid, tangible, heavier than the incorporeal tendrils that surround him. With the way he carries himself it's obvious that it's a painful experience. Wether you've met Tsaikogen before or not he obviously doesn't look like he's in any condition to face this monster and may even pose a problem later if his appearance has somehow been altered by Tregrenos.

    - In the end you both, as well as any other previous writers who might chime in, will face an ultimatum. (Not apparent, just a heads up.)

    - Also, the song that inspired the next sequence was Gone Sovereign by Stone Sour. Remember, have fun with it. This is your story after all, things don't have to be dire. All things considered Tregrenos is having the time of his life. Remember, this is your story. Your story...

OoC: My inspiration has returned, and I will now detail Conner's flight with his flying partner up to the machine.

Conner was on top of the fleetest flyer(besides Trainor) that the LSS had. It was a Skarmory under the name of Gard. Gard wasn't afraid of anything really, not even the floating tendrils within 50 feet of their destination. But, he will never go near fire, as it is what destroyed his family years ago. So, if they ever meet fire, he is swooping back down to the ground.

It wasn't comfortable, on top of the Skarmory. It was slick, and hard to keep a grip. It was made even harder because of the intense speed they were flying. But Conner managed to hold on, with the blade that he took from the Commander. It was a cutlass of sorts, but was very light, and could easily be maneuvered. It was probably the Commander's best blade.

When they were within 30 feet of the ship, Conner kept his thoughts focused on Historius, his best friend. He knew from his last instance here that because of his fear of Tregrenos that the tendrils grabbed him. So, he focused, and blocked out any outside activity. Gard was just flying through the tendrils and cutting as they went. He wasn't afraid of these black wormlike things!

At last, when they were within 10 feet, a piece of the ship fell from the edge. It was part of the explosion that separated the ship from the gas spewing statue, so it was on fire. At first sight, Gard wanted to fly down, not wanting to suffer the same fate as the rest of his family. But Conner restrained him, suddenly noticing the tendrils that were coming.

"Gard, we have to make it inside! If we do, I will be able to help.", Conner exclaimed. But it was in vain, for the tendrils surrounded Gard and squeezed him, and Conner had to jump into the fire. Gard was squeezed until even his armor was dented, and the life was siphoned out of him. Conner couldn't look, not just because of smoke.

Conner finally managed to get through the fire and into the coolness of the inner chamber. He was badly burned, and needed something to help it. And then, across the room, he saw the body of Darcius. It was bloody, and looked like he went through a horrible fight. Conner limped over to see how it was.

Darcius was indeed dead, but Conner saw the little bag, which he knew as a berry bag. LCF members always kept one to pay for their delivery fees from the Spearows. He took the bag, and searched around for a Rawst berry. After digging around, he found an overripe one, but it would do the job. He ate it, puckering at the sincere sweet flavor, and felt better from his burns. He then looked back at the body of the leader of the LCF.

"No one deserved this, not even you, Lord Darcius.", Conner whispered. He took the body gingerly, and put it into the fire, so Darcius could truly be free of this horrible prison. As the fire smoldered, and Conner had paid his respects, he went to find the room where Tregrenos was hiding. He would help eliminate this evil. And with that thought in his head, he ran off to find the deathly thing.

OOC: Ooh, nice work with the berry bag. Didn't see that coming. Gives Darcius's story a "Full Circle" type of appeal. Speaking of things not seen coming...

    ~The Nightmare Puppet & The Soulseer~
    No Regrets

    Theme Truely Epic By R&R

Tsaikogen charged Tregrenos, blade in hand, then lunged. However, Tregrenos had set a trap card, disarming Tsaikogen. Tregrenos swung a whipping tendril from his back toward Tsaikogen in response. Tsaikogen immediately thought "Do not want!" Suddenly, the spirit of the Phero called out "Do a barrel roll!"

Rolling to the side Tsaikogen sneers "You mad bro?" Tregrenos was no longer there, but behind Tsaikogen, whispering "Quite livid actually." before pinning Tsaikogen to the ground. The attack would have killed him if he hadn't collected a few rings before the fight started. "Cursed rings! I end my turn." With only a few HP left, no rings, no trap cards, a useless spike-haired spirit that on no way looked Egyptian, Tsaikogen had no choice but to ascend.

Gathering his key, the ship begins to rumble as Tsaikogen powers up. First his hair goes blond, then it grows longer, then his fur turns red and hair turns black, but he hated that form and didn't think it should have ever been an option, so he goes back to blond hair instead. Tregrenos takes the scouter off his face and crushes it, yelling "I don't even have to say 'it' for you to know where this was going!" The Ghost of Napa pops in by Tregrenos's side, laughing "Oh-ho-ho! You are SO screwed!" As Tsaikogen prepares to launch his final attack a piece of debris falls and conks him on the head. He hears the words "Wake up!" repeated over and over again until he does.

Conner awoke in the medical bed, unsure why he had such a trippy dream. On the table next to him was a red haired doll holding a "Get Well Soon!" card signed by Tregrenos. He thought the gesture was nice, but the doll was rather ugly and would probably give kids nightmares for generations to come until they turn the movies into a parody of themselves.

Conner rudely interrupted "Wait... What's a movie?"

It's not important, just pick up the doll. "I commanded."

Conner looked at the ugly doll, checking the room for any cliche horror gags, before accepting the doll was going to come alive any minute now.

    Any minute now.

    ...

Conner dozes off waiting for nothing. It was an ugly doll, but a sincere gift. As Conner slumbered he heard a voice calling for him to "Wake up boy!"

With a snort Tsaikogen wakes up from the trippy dream. "Was I a Saijin?" Looking around the room briefly he leaps to the window. "Wait, where'd the ship go?" He turns to a Chansey who had been busy at a table and asks "Um, miss?" As the Chansey looks at him Tsaikogens face sinks in horror.

As Tsaikogens huddles against the wall in fear the Chanseys turns to close the door. It looks toward something that isn't there, perhaps a figment of its imagination, as if it's life was nothing more than a story and it was looking at a reader. It's face was not that of a Chansey, for it had horrible, glowing eyes and a zipper grin. Chanregrenos says with a monotonic voice before slamming the door closed...

    "April Fools."

OOC: If your reading this last and weren't tipped off by the "theme" link, then GATCHA! ヘ(^▽^ヘ)

No, none of this is cannon, like Dragonball GT. The real story will continue at a later date.

OOC: Was disappointed I couldn't think of a way to write in the Benny Hill theme for the April Fools post. That's one of those things you need to see and hear or it loses meaning... Not that there way much meaning to that post anyway.

Returning to the story! What's Tregrenos planning? The ship will drift close enough to reach the wall soon. Can Tregrenos be beaten, stopped or killed in time?

    ~The Nightmare Puppet & The Soulseer~
    Balance of Ink & Paint

The airship draws ever closer to the wall. No longer being propelled by mechanical means, it appears to be dragged along the clouds by the mass of tendrils sprouting from every surface. With the tendrils lerching through the air the airship no longer looks machine. It's taken on the form of a ungulating, other-worldly being. The once solid shell now twisted and broken as if the wall itself was trying to force the monstrosity away. Throughout the interior Meloetta's Relic Song is accompanied by folding, breaking metal and the cutting howl of a powerful wind. While the Tendrils hold the airship together smaller pieces rain down upon the earth below. The cluttered landscape now looks to be a war torn graveyard of jagged steel that follows the airships wake. Aboard, Conner races toward the head of the ship. Meanwhile, Tsaikogen readies an offense on Tregrenos directly.

Tsaikogens grip on Trainors mechanical blade was unsteady as jolts of pain wrecked most of the right side of his body. He could no longer feel his right hand as the tendrils sprouting from it have fused in such a way that he no longer had control of the arms movements. He could only see with his left eye, the right closed tightly in whatever growing deformity has encased his face. Tsaikogen attempted to move toward Tregrenos, who is now ignoring him and shambling his own twisted body in a dance to Meloettas song, but the tendrils along his arm shoot out and latch on to the tendrils growing from the wall. Taking a knee, he is no longer able to continue in the shape he's in.

As the tendrils along the wall further intertwine with those sprouting from his arm Tsaikogen resigns to his fate, weakened as the tendrils absorb more of his life away. Awaiting whatever fate has in store Tsaikogens vision begins to blur. He starts to nod off, trying to maintain consciousness in vane while Meloettas song begins to dull, his hearing fadeing. Though awake, Tsaikogen begins to have dream-like flashes. No, not dreams, memories of another. He began to see life through Arcticuno's eyes, then Moltres, then Zapdos. Their memories fading in and out as another replaces it. Though the memories seemed seperate they all had a common inevitability, the great wall that surrounded their land. He saw that the structure was not a true wall in a sense, but a barrier that could be freely crossed by the legendaries. As the final memory flashes Tsaikogen sees himself lying on the ground, the last memory the legendary birds had imparted upon him. As the memory fades Tsaikogens hearing began to return. Meloettas song becoming clearer... "No... Is that it?"

Tsaikogen, using the mechanical blade as leverage, begins to pull himself away from the tendrils embrace. The tendrils along his arm loosen themselves and recede back into the shape of an arm as Tsaikogen frees himself completely. He calls out as he regains his footing "Tregrenos!" As Tregrenos turns to face the Smeargle he is met with a familiar glare. Tsaikogens right eye, now fully open, was the same red as his own, glowing like embers in the night as Tsaikogen removes the mechanical blade from his left hand in defiance of his own weakness. Tossing the blade aside, the white paint drips from his tail. As it encases his body Tsaikogens right arm takes on a similar effect, causing a swirl of black and white. As the effect falls away Tsaikogens new form is revealed.

A thin mane circles his neck, his legs bending and fur shortening to become more streamlined. A pair of metalic-like horns form on the back side of both hands and a single sprouts from his chest. He retains his Smeargle face, but the hair on his head thickens as it hangs back and his normally droopy ears perk into points. With the colors inverting evenly down the center of his body between black and white it would seem this new form had taken a cue from a Yin Yang design. Opening his eyes he retains the red, glowing right eye on the black half of his face.

    Countdown to Bad Things: 3

Theme Under and Over It By Five Finger Death Punch

Tsaikogen bursts into a sprint toward Tregrenos. The speed and agility of the Lucario form is as alien as any other form he'd taken, but being a relative canine species Tsaikogen was able to quickly adjust to the changes. Still, he is unsure how long he can maintain this form and must take advantage of the moment. He thought that if these tendrils allowed Tregrenos to minipulate reality then he might be caught off guard by this sudden change.

Tregrenos, however, was list in his own little world. His thoughts driven to a possible new Torment creation, if the corruption doesn't kill the subject first. He had to take care not to damage the tail or the left eye, but the rest is expendable. With the subject taking so well to this form he could probably convert the Lucario model Torment to house the important parts.

"Perhaps the brain can..." Tregrenos's thought was cut short as a steel tipped paw catches him on the side of the face. Tregrenos regains his balance quickly "The boy is faster than..." As Tregrenos looked back at Tsaikogen he was no longer there. Tsaikogen had used the momentary confusion to run along the wall to get behind Tregrenos. Tsaikogen spins in a low sweep, but Tregrenos dodges by rolling his body and is suspended upside down using the large tendrils sprouting from his back as leverage. Tregrenos laughs "Boy, I have been using that trick for centuries!" As Tregrenos reached out a knifed hand Tsaikogen replies "Tell me if you know this one!" Tsaikogen reaches for Tregrenos, grabbing him by his extended wrist and tossing him to a lower platform below.

Dazed for a moment, Tregrenos is brought back to his senses by a sharp, vocal melody. Tsaikogen had used the Relic Song he mimicked earlier and concentrated the aura into his corrupted right hand, creating a Mock Aura Sphere. Tsaikogen lands atop Tregrenos, but as he swung the sphere down Tregrenos catches it within his knifed hand, disrupting the attack. Tsaikogen comes down with a punch from the left hand, hitting Tregrenos in the face on the first swing, but being caught by Tregrenos's other hand on the second. Before Tregrenos could retaliate with his tendrils Tsaikogen uses Relic Song, halting Tregrenos's attack while also forming a Mock Aura Sphere with his mouth. The attack hits Tregrenos in the chest, sending the two flying in different directions.

Tregrenos's suit torn further, the tendrils bound within begin to creep out. Tsaikogen wondered if his attacks were doing anything. He knew he couldn't keep this up much longer, the weight of the Transform becoming more appearent as time passes. Tsaikogen pushed his attack with another dash toward Tregrenos. Not one for repeat performances Tregrenos takes control of the situation by swinging his bladed hand sharply across the metal flooring. Though Tsaikogen is able to avoid the attack he did not see the tendril that had sprouted from under Tregrenos's sleeve and trips.

Before Tsaikogen could regain his footing a tendril wraps around his neck and hangs him above the ground. He struggles to pull the tendril loose, dangling a few inches above the ground as Tregrenos regains his composure. Tregrenos tilts his head as a finger reaches for his chin in thought, pondering the possibilities of this new project. As Tregrenos reaches to grab Tsaikogens head in both hands a familiar voice cuts in. Trainor was diving toward Tregrenos with a crudely made Haunchkrow doll clutched in his talons. He shouts "Smile you son of a bitch!" before shoving the doll into Tregrenos's open mouth. Trainor then grabs Tsaikogen and with a beat of his wings he puts some distance between them and Tregrenos. Before Tsaikogen could ask Trainor who he was and what he was doing an explosion came from Tregrenos's direction.

The blast was enough to slam Trainor and Tsaikogen against the wall of the ship. Tsaikogens ears were ringing as smoke and debris filled the room. Trainor, though still recovering from his fight earlier as well as the impact of the explosion, was already to his feet and bracing for an attack. "Is this guy serious?" Tsaikogen thought. "He just shoved a bomb down Tregrenos's throat!"

Tsaikogen pulls himself up, staring questioningly at Trainor. "Smile you son of a bitch? Really?" Trainors humor was quite dry in his reply "I couldn't think of a better introduction for my 'little friend'. What, you think you could do better?" Tsaikogen commented with a smirk "No, just thinking I picked up the wrong weapon of yours is all."

The two share a nervous laugh before the collapsed rubble began to move. "ENOUGH!" shouted Tregrenos as he bursts from a pile of broken steel grating. Though the explosion had not stopped Tregrenos it was quite effective, as his battered frame and torn jaw was evident.

Tregrenos pushes his broken body upward with the large tendrils growing from his back. "This ruse has gone on long enough." he declares with a hint if exhaustion. "To hell with this world and the puppets who inhabit it!" Tregrenos reaches for his face, grabbing his lower jaw in one hand and the upper jaw in the other and begins to rip his own head open.

OOC: Tregrenos is about to be unmasked. The countdown is at 3 and I'm issuing another challenge. What happens if the countdown reaches 0? Do you want to give this story a happy ending or did "The Message" speak to you? For the next story insert following this post the first writer, reader, anybody who accepts it, has temporary control of Tsaikogen, Trainor AND Tregrenos. Anybody at all has the choice to alter the story in this pivotal moment. Do you know Tregrenos's true face? In this type of environment, with the mindset of Tregrenos, how do you envision the appearance of "MissingNO."? What do you see when you think of this god killer? This demon puppet? This "Missing One"?

Do you accept? Should the next post be from a previous writer and not take advantage of this challenge I will continue with the countdown. However, should a viable reason arise, I still might not reach 0 on the countdown.

    OoC: Finally, a new post!

Conner was now just walking through the rusting corridors. His burns, although healed, still hurt him. He now saw the walls of the flying metal fortress in detail. The intricate building would have been great, if it wasn't for the purpose it was built for.

After several minutes, he then saw the machines which Tregrenos worked with. They were ruined with the damages, but with some repairs, they could work again. Just to make sure their purpose would never be served again, he blasted the machines with Aura Spheres. They lay completely destroyed, with nothing but a smoking heap.

Continuing on, he saw the private dungeons throughout Tregrenos's factory. They lay empty, but Conner knew what was there. Pokémon that lay in wait to be turned into Torments stood there. He destroyed those as well. History, evil history at that, hung there, and he wanted to eliminate it. And he did.

There was nothing else until he came to the doors of the auditorium. He remembered it well, and did not want to come here again. But, now the time has come to see Tregrenos again, and finish him. So, he entered.

And when he entered, he saw Tregrenos tearing his face off. *What is happening here!?*, Conner thought. But there was no time to act before Tregrenos's true form was shown. The terror would be unleashed.

OOC: Been busy with new job lately, so it took a while for me to figure out how to describe what's happening. Looking back to the in-game sprites MissingNO. took several dead forms. Ghosts, skeletons, and even a substitute puppet in Pokemon Stadium. So, what does Tregrenos look like?

    Countdown to Bad Things: 2

    ~The Nightmare Puppet & The Soulseer~
    Escapist Quartette

Theme Ironheart By Two Steps From Hell

As Conner reached the control station Tregrenos had begun to tear his own face open. As the zipper grin pulls apart the threading starts to stretch and tear. A scream is heard, but it did not seem to come from Tregrenos, but from deep within him. A hallowed echo that intensified by the second. As the sound drowned out Meloettas song the ship begins to shudder. Standing proved difficult with the instability of the ship increasing. The tendrils that aligned the surface began to slowly break away, pulling toward Tregrenos with bits and pieces of metalic scrap still clung to their anchors. The ship begins to creak and moan as it's gutted by the retreating tendrils.

Conner, holding a railing for support, can feel the ship breaking apart. Looking behind, he sees the hallway below collapsing. He stumbles into the control center quickly to avoid the debris. Trainor looks to Tsaikogen and yells over the deafening rumble "The ship is falling apart!" As the ship crumbles the fallout begins to rain down upon the earth. Shards of steel fall, piercing the ground like a graveyard of metal. The control center rumbles and shatters, sending the trio through collapsing walkways. Tregrenos's silhouette fades as the buildup of smoke and debris from the tendrils being pulled into him hinders everyone's vision.

As sight returns, the deafening scream ceased, Conner realizes that the entirety of the ship had fallen. Somehow, all that remained aloft was the control center they stood within. Though spacious, there was no way this thing could remain in the sky, not counting the damage it had suffered. The once sofisticated, all be it eccentric design of the control station had been transformed into a mangled, hallowed out shell. The stage which supported Meloetta above the others barely held together, but the strain proved too much for what supports remained and the stage breaks away.

As Meloettas stage falls it is stopped midair by several remaining tendrils. The floating, leach-like annomolies steadied her stage, Meloetta never missing a beat, continuesly singing despite what had happened. The attention held toward Meloetta was soon lost as the sounds of waning steel echo through the hallowed dome from the center of the sphere. A gathered pile of rubble where Tregrenos once stood starts to shift as something moves from within. Slowly, what looks to be a single, large tendril emerges from the wreckage.

It is not like the others, it is solid, alive, and infused with bits of metal. The tendril begins to wave before to whips upward, taking a ridged shape as it begins to take form. It's smooth edges become rippled as a muscular structure seems to form. Five, long points sprout from the top of the form that fold inward and out several times before plunging back into the wreckage from which it sprouted. After a moment of rooting around in the rubble it emerges, clinching something with the five pronged sprouts. It was a pale, spherical object, though slightly elongated near the bottom. Holding it skyward it seems as if the tendril was an arm and the object it held had a face. The only visible markings being the indentions where eyes would be. Is this a mask or could this be Tregrenos?

Not willing to take any chances Conner launches an Aura Sphere at the object held high. The hit was true but the results unwavering as it seemed the attack had no effect on the object. From the wreckage another arm shoots out from below, quickly reaching for Conner. The attack falls just short of succession as Conner leaps in avoidance.

Tsaikogen is stunned from what little is seen of the monster. His eyes could not identify with it, as if this alien being was something not of this world. If not for Trainors quick thinking Tsaikogen would have been struck by the sweeping arm. Tsaikogens senses return as Trainor tosses him against the inner rim of the sphere.

The creature lets out a low rumble "Dance!" The rubble surrounding it shifts more as the being begins to raise from the ashes of the control station. "Dance!" it repeats, it's voice bellowing with the sound of twisted steel and a supernatural wail. "Dance!" it yells, it's body shaking from the rubble as it stretched several long, blade-like appendages outward. The appendages strike the ground with a force that tremors through the dome. The eight bladed legs force the rest of its body from out of the debris. The sphere had been held in what was its left hand, yet it had not a head of its own. Where it's head would be a smaller pair of bladed appendages hung and twitched like a pair of spider fangs. A larger, steel covered portion if it's body emerges from behind it, a segmented, plated abdomine whose weight was being supported by another pair of arm-like protrusions. The creatures, Tregrenos's form, was massive. Dwarfing the others it seemed as if the dome that had formed from the remainder of the ship was simply not large enough to house the monster.

After a moment of awe at the unexpected sight the creatures voice begins to shift and change. It states with Tregrenos's previous voice "A dance, a quartet, a final fair well." The arm turns its hand so the face was staring at Meloetta. "Would you be so kind, my dear?"

Meloettas song stops. Turning to face the others, she looks down with unblinking eyes. The silence from within the sphere slowly breaks as the walls begin to reverberate. It is a subtle, barely noticeable sound at first, but it becomes clear that there is a beat coming from the walls. An echo through the chamber makes audible the sound of various instruments playing at once. As the instruments fall silent Tregrenos's familure laughter is heard before the sound of instruments form a rhythm.

    Theme The Escapist By Nightwish
    ♬ Sung by Meloetta ♬

♬ "Who's there knocking at my window?
The owl and the Dead Boy
    This night whispers my name
    All the dying children" ♬
As the sound of music continues to fill the chamber during the break Tregrenis's eight legs stretch outward, piercing into the walls of the dome as the spider-like body is suspended above the others.

♬ "Virgin snow beneath my feet
    Painting the world in white
I tread the way and lose myself into a tale" ♬
Metallic, yet sticky threading is shot from the abdomin, raining upon the lower portion of the dome as the trio barely avoid the strike. However, traversing the substance is near impossible with Tregrenos's figure looming overhead and ready to strike. They are like flies caught in a web.

♬ "Come hell or high water
    My search will go on
Clayborn Voyage without an end" ♬
Trainor takes flight, going behind Tregrenos in an attempt to scout for any weakness and, if possible, flank him.

    ♬ "A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone, bring me back to life
It all starts with a lullaby" ♬
As he flies around the creature the turning head never loses sight of the Haunchkrow. Before he could react to the movement one of the back hands launches forward, striking the bird with a clenched fist and sending him slamming against the wall of the dome.

    ♬ "Journey homeward bound
A sound of a dolphin calling
Tearing off the mask of man
The tower, my sole guide" ♬
Though separated Conner and Tsaikogens reaction occurred in sync. Tsaikogen, still in the corrupted form of a Lucario, leaps in tandem with Conner on opposing sides of the dome to what safe spots they could land upon.

♬ "This is who I am
    Escapist, paradise seeker
    Farewell, now time to fly
Out of sight, out of time, away from all lies" ♬
The two make their way to Tregrenos's supporting legs. Even if they couldn't beat the beast, if he impacted the dome hard enough it could cause the structure to collapse.

    ♬ "A nightingale in a golden cage
    That's me locked inside reality's maze" ♬
It wasn't about defeating Tregrenos, but stopping him. "No matter the cost..." thought Tsaikogen.

    ♬ "A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
    Come undone
Bring me back to life" ♬
The pair strike at Tregrenos's legs, the physical attacks doing little more than trying to punch through a steel wall. Conner tries an Aura Sphere while Tsaikogen launches a Mock Aura Sphere.

    ♬ "A nightingale in a golden cage
    That's me locked inside reality's maze" ♬
The attacks effectively loosened two of the legs, but only for a brief moment.

♬ "Come someone make my heavy heart light
It all starts with a lullaby" ♬
Tregrenos's retaliation was as swift as with Trainor, striking the Lucario pair with the loosened legs and sending them plummeting to the metalic webbing below.

    ♬ "A nightingale in a golden cage
    That's me locked inside reality's maze" ♬
Laughing in triumph Tregrenos readies himself to kill Conner, to see if anything further would happen to Tsaikogen.

♬ "Come someone make my heavy heart light
    Come undone
Bring me back to life" ♬
However, his attack is halted by the noticeable stop the dome makes as it reaches the wall. A makeshift window slides open to reveal that the dome has arrived at its destination.

    ♬ "A nightingale...
    In a Golden Cage..." ♬

Tregrenos proclaims "It is time!", his front hands spread apart in a showman fashion as the face held in the left turns to face Conner and Tsaikogen.

OOC: More fun to come. The good news, the dome didn't crash into the wall. The bad news, the dome didn't crash into the wall. Again, the next poster has control over Tsaikogen, Trainor and Tregrenos. Do you try to survive or do you go on the offencive against this daunting new aggressor?

I took the liberty of writing in what I thought Conners reactions would be, but dialog is another matter. Also, Tregrenos's spider form is both a reference to him being a puppet master as well as Hamlet, with his head held in hand.

OOC: Had a hard time with this one. There's a lot to say, but didn't wanna burn through everything at once nor rush the matter.

    I Am Law!

Theme The Eye Collector By Krypteria

The day had been long, the sun setting over the clouds. The sphere has come to a halt, the great wall surrounding their world a stones throw away. Meloettas attention is turned to the space Tregrenos had opened to view the wall. Her song had changed in tone, a melodic echo reverberates through the sphere, a veritable chorus of restrained power. The song is heard far and wide, even by those on the other side of the wall. Though carried, the song was not loud, but focused and controlled. Tsaikogen had thought that after such struggle the song was rather soothing. However, he feared the outcome of closing his eyes as he could feel his Lucario form melting away.

Tregrenos loomed over Meloetta, swaying quietly in anticipation. He looks back to his strung captives and shrugs at their weariness. "It has been a long journey, my friends." he says, bladed legs quietly walking toward Tsaikogen despite his emence proportions. "You have performed admirably, a tour de force against the odds." Conner is unable to see nor hear Tsaikogen, but fears what this monster may be doing. As Conner sees Tregrenos reach down he manages to free his hand enough to launch another Aura Sphere at the disembodied head in hand. Again, the attack proved futile, Tregrenos unflinching as the attack makes contact. Turning to face Conner Tregrenos moves quickly to stand above him, chuckling along the way. Poking at Conners face with his free hand Tregrenos grabs the silk holding him down and tears it away, freeing Conners movement. "A bit more to give, yes? A bit more to give." Tregrenos moves to the lowest part of the sphere. He begins to speak, but seems to wonder and pause. Looking back to Conner his speach returns suddenly with a calm tone. "A bit more room? Some fresh air?" He crouches as his voice takes a tone of unbridled anticipation. "Let's take this outside!" he shouts, leaping toward the ceiling and breaking through.

Pokemon stragglers still pass through the tunnel, among them a familure Dragonair. Wilda glides above the walkers, her thoughts of the devastation she and the others had seen through the expedient trip here. She had heard of the troubles that had befallen Camp Secrecy and had seen the devistation of a distant statue spouting forth a toxic cloud, but none weighed more on her thoughts than the final conversation she'd had with Tsaikogen. She wondered if he was even alive, if he'd avoided Secrecy or if he'd been caught in the devistation.

From the side of the tunnel the group was fleeing singing could be heard. A somber melody at first that began to increase in pace. She could not tell where it had come from, unsure if the singer was close or if the echo of the tunnel carried the tune well. Nearing the exit another sound is heard, grinding stone and piercing winds speratically intertwined with the sound of rolling thunder. Upon exiting the crowd of escapees looked to the sky, Wilda astonished at what she bared witness to. The great wall had begun to crack.

The crack was unusual, not from the other side of the wall nor from anything striking it from this side. It seemed the wind itself was pummeling away at a single spot in the wall, the crack revealing the spin of the currents as pieces of the stone-like structure break and are pulled away by the currents. Though the sound drowned out the song Wilda could hear that it had changed to a fast beat, intensifying as the winds churned at greater speeds, drilling into the wall like an invisible machine.

    ---------------------------------------------

Theme The Eye Collector By Krypteria
    (5:40-11:20)

The hole Tregrenos had formed in the uppermost portion of the sphere began to expand, pieces of the structure peeling away. The pieces did not fall, however, as they drifted slowly outward. Tsaikogen stirred, pulling himself up with the metalic silk having been removed. Though exhausted it seemed as if he had little trouble getting up. Conner had felt it to, a lightness overtook him as it seemed he could float away if not for the feel of floor below his feet.

The sphere continues to break apart, debris floating outward, halting upon reaching a distance to form a broken spherical shape caught in a gravity centered upon Meloetta. Conner and Tsaikogen clung to their respective pieces as they began to turn, the earth below them now above their heads. The distortion in gravity had to be great for their equilibrium to have adjusted as well. Though their bodies adapted to the change in gravity their minds still felt that they were upside down. Tsaikogen was unsure how far this artificial gravity extended and was afraid to jump and find out. Conner must have thought the same thing as both began to hop along the debris to where the sky was above once again. Once reaching the top neither had reported seeing Tregrenos.

Steadying their balance on the slightly drifting, floating debris they look to a hole that had formed in the wall. The large hole crumbled, signs of recent impact, then hear the echoes of clawing steel. From within the hole Tregrenos's face emerges. Not held by hand, but floating as a mass of the metalic silk tugged at its base. From the lower part of the hole two hands emerge, latching to the edge. Shortly afterword two upper hands emerge, this time with Tregrenos's origional bladed fingers.

    Countdown to Bad Things: MissingNO.

Emerging from the hole Tregrenos falls, plummeting through the night sky, his body covered and trailing a metalic silk. Meloettas tone changes to a quick pace, a green glow of light emanating as small pieces of loose debris begin to encircle her. As her pace increased so does the speed of the debris and the brightness of her glow. The light was not a glow from her as it seemed to be made of glowing, feint tendrils. Their outline and shape skewed by the brightness of the light. Tsaikogen and Conner felt the wind around them pick up as the debris they stood upon began a rotational orbit around Meloetta. From below the clouds a large figure emerges...

Tregrenos flies upward to meet the sphere, his spider-like form having been altered. The abdomin was gone, the steel plating that once covered it split and folded across this new forms chest. What were once its front hands are now on the bottom, it's back hands now above and sporting bladed fingers. The eight legs spred outward from this new shapes back, draped in silk and giving the illusion of bony wings. The mass of silk now cloaked the figure, the head held down by thick strands, snaking around as it floats.

The Missing One, the Nothingness, the Vile One...

    Death has arrived.

OOC: Had more planned, but can pick up on that in the next post. The countdown has reached 0, Meloetta's song is causing an effect on both sides of the wall and the stage is an unstable orbit within a small area. Oh, and Tregrenos has taken a form similar to the Angel of Death as he glides around the spherical orbit.

Other than the obvious, what "bad things" will occur? Will see if I can post the finale before the end of the week.

OOC: After writing below I realized that this will take a little longer to wrap up than I'd planned. Still, bad things are about to happen.

Stone Sours music gave me a lot of inspiration for Tregrenos and Tsaikogen. The flagship song to their latest albums seems very fitting for the theme of this showdown. Looking back at Tregrenos and Tsaikogens differences throughout this RP "House of Gold & Bones" seems like an apropriot theme.

    Countdown to Bad Things: 0

    ~The Nightmare Puppet & The Soulseer~
    Goodbye...

Theme House of Gold & Bones By Stone Sour

Tregrenos circled the orbit, striking at pieces of floating debris with what used to be the fang-like protrusions of the previous spider form. As he struck the small platforms they began to spin uncontrollably, caught within the orbit of a ceaseless centrifugal force. Tregrenos would continue until only a few remained steady on the Northern end of the sphere, the only salvation for Conner and Tsaikogen to keep from being pulled into the glowing core of the small orbit they were trapped upon.

Meloettas song becomes more erratic as the glow expands beyond the platforms, brightly glowing, green tendrils whipping between the space between each small platform. Above the duo Tregrenos comes to a stop, looming overhead like a dark cloud. His lower hands form silken threads that are lowered into the green light below their steady platforms. As it is drawn up two figures are pulled, glowing green like the light below, but in the shape of Tregrenos's first form. These puppets both wielded dual swords, but appeared limp and lifeless. As they fell to the steady platforms they lay motionless for a few seconds before stirring and raising to their feet. The puppets each face a seperate opponent, striking an offencive pose as if they were the real Tregrenos.

The puppets waist no time in launching their initial attack, hopping from platform to platform to reach their intended target. Reacting instinctively Conner manages to counter the puppets first attack, not knowing the swords would actually seem to be made of steel as the steel spikes on his hands clashed with the phantom blades. The puppets movements were so authentic that he'd forgotten for a moment that the real Tregrenos was overhead. Tsaikogen backs away, trying to keep distance between him and the puppet as he no longer had a means of defending himself. It seemed all he could do is run circles within the cage that had formed around him. The lashing, glowing tendrils causing him to lose balance several times as he unsteadily backed away.

From above Tregrenos's upper, bladed hands lower more silken thread slowly upon several platforms. Tsaikogen realizes the thread being lowered toward him and leaps to a nearby platform to avoid being caught, barely dodging the swing of a puppets blade that had gotten far to close. Meanwhile, Conner clashed with his own puppet, his focus remaining on the puppet master pulling the strings. Suddenly, Tregrenos spoke through the puppet Conner faced. Conner had not realized what the puppet said, but it served to distract him enough that he soon found himself struggling against the pull of the silken thread lowered atop him discreetly. Losing his balance Tsaikogen was sure he'd be cut down by the puppet that stood upon the same platform as he. However, before the strike could be made the puppet vanishes. Both puppets had vanished to Tsaikogens short lived relief as he notices the strings wrapping around Conners limbs and neck.

From below two glowing swords are pulled and planted before Conner. As he is forced to grip the hilts a searing pain courses through his arm. He cries out as if being made to grab heated metal and forced into a combat pose similar to the puppets before. Though he tried to fight back he had lost all control of his body, closing the gap between him and Tsaikogen. Conner raises the blade high and brings it down swiftly. Tsaikogen avoids the strike by rolling to the side, but the impact was enough to flip the platform he was now desperately clinging to. As the platform continued it's forced movement and righted itself for a moment Tsaikogen is forced to roll off to avoid the next attack, dangling from the platform as the second strike increased the speed at which it spun. During the moment that the platform was virticle Tsaikogen gains enough footing to toss himself with the force, luckily landing upon a steady platform. Conner continued his forced persuit, Tregrenos's laughter heard overhead. When the moment seemed its bleakest Conner begins to lose balance, toppling over and jarring from side to side in the air. Tsaikogen looks upward to see that Trainor had wrapped his wings around the head-like object above and had cut off Tregrenos's vision. Tregrenos reached with his unused, bladed left hand, but Trainor abandons the tactic and continues to fly around Tregrenos's head while his other limbs are otherwise preoccupied. During the confusion Conner is able to pry himself free from the silken strands with the glowing blades, freeing his movement and tossing the forsaken weapons back into the glowing core.

With no other options Tsaikogen tries to Transform once again. His thought being that he could turn into his owl form, grab Conner and get the hell out of there. As the recurrent white paint begins to envelope his body he is stricken with pain as his right arm begins to form black tendrils. The Transform was incomplete, forming white wings upon his back. Trainor flies in and out, distracting Tregrenos for a moment until he finds himself snared within Tregrenos's silken netting and falling to a platform below. Though Tsaikogens body was not prepared for flight he had to try. He pushes himself up, but finds the gravity of their small orbit to be too great and struggles to remain aloft. As he tries to make his way to Conner he quickly raises to avoid several swipes of Tregrenos's lower hands. However, upon the third swing he is caught and raised to Tregrenos's face in both clenched fists. Tsaikogen cried out as Tregrenos squeezed tightly, Conner looking around futility for some way to help. Tregrenos toys with the Smeargle, gently lifting the wings from his grip with the tips of his bladed fingers to appraise their quality. "Of my, are they real?" Tregrenos asks, fanning the white feathers to inspect for accuracy. "I wonder..." he states with a dark tone in his voice...

Gripping the wings with his bladed hands he begins to slowly pull, causing Tsaikogen to cry out in pain. Though they were made of paint, part of the botched transformation and would melt away eventually, he could feel the pull of the sharp blades. He felt as the mussels began to tear and the breaking of bones as they're pulled from their sockets. With a final tug the wings rip off, instantly splashing into a white liquid in the bladed hands. Conner was stunned at what he'd seen, more so from no longer hearing anything come from Tsaikogen. The Smeargle was no longer struggling, no longer crying. As Tregrenos loosened his grip Tsaikogen rag dolled to the edge of a platform that began to slowly flip with the unbalanced weight. Before Conner could reach the platform Trainor manages to hop to and steady the platform, still covered in silk and unable to fly.

The spherical orbit drifts to the wall, the hole that had been formed quickly expanding as it enters the wall. Conner and Trainor soon lose sight of the hole in which they entered, the only light in the dark tunnel coming from the orbital core and only serving to make Tregrenos's form all the more menacing. Tregrenos looked onward in the direction they headed, ignoring the others with anticipation of reaching the other side.

As Wilda looked to the sky the wind patterns forming was unlike anything she'd ever seen. The wall was being bombarded by what looked like a horizontal tornado that was being illuminated by dots of light from within the cylindrical eye. The closer the sphere would draw to the other end of the wall the greater the force of the tornado would become. The time was drawing near as Trainor looked on, cracks of dim light coming from before the cracking cave wall. From the corner of his eye Trainor sees Tsaikogen slip. He manages to grab Tsaikogen by his tainted right hand, unsure if he was even still alive. Tsaikogen began to stir, a feint voice heard through the noise abound. "Leave me..."

Trainor steadied his grip, but could not bare the weight for long. Tsaikogen, still hanging limp, repeats louder "Leave me!" His voice ragged and weak Tsaikogen turns his head to look up at Trainor. Trainor had no response, steadying his loosening grip again and unwilling to let go. He'd seen too many taken by Tregrenos and couldn't stand to see another lost. Steadying his grip a third time he felt the pull of added weight. Looking back he saw that the glowing tendrils had begun to wrap around Tsaikogen. "No... Not again! Hang on dammit!" Trainor cried, more to himself than to Tsaikogen. The glowing tendrils snaked their way up Tsaikogens arm to reach Trainirs talon, the mere touch a burning pain. With what little energy he had Tsaikogen raises his left hand to meet Trainors talon, pulling the clawed grip from his wrist. "No!" cried Trainor again as Tsaikogen frees himself from his grasp, falling into the waiting mass of glowing tendrils and fading into the light.

Lost in the moment Trainor didn't realize the glowing tendrils still wrapped around his talon. In a daze he reaches to the silk incassing him, pulling free as the small glowing tendrils seemed to loosen them. As the cave opens to reveal the tornado Trainors senses return. Able to fly once again he rushes back to Conner, grabs him and takes flight. He didn't care what opposition the Lucario had toward his actions he knew he had to get them out of there. With Conner in talon he makes for the opening in the wall, fighting the torrential winds of the tornado until free of their pull. Below, he could see the refugees seeking shelter as he fraught against the chaotic winds beyond the tornado. He couldn't risk going any lower at this point, so he flew upward to steadier winds to ride the current.

Unwilling to stray to far despite having just escaped Trainor needed to see what would unfold.

    Goodbye Tsaikogen...

OOC: Tregrenos was originally designed after another character I'd developed for a personal story I'd been working on who was, in turn, inspired by the antichrist. Tsaikogens botched transformation was ment to be "angelic" in appearance and his wings being ripped away to symbolize the loss of good in the world.

I had more to add, the final plot unfolding, but after writing this I'm creatively burned out at the moment and will have to finish up either later today or tomorrow.

OOC: Time and again Tregrenos's fate was put in the hands of the other writers. At any point, with plausible reason, Tregrenos could have been stopped. The reason for Tregrenos's existence was to challenge myself as well as the other writers. So, why has it come this far? Were the other writers uncomfortable about writing for him? Were they unsure how a character not of their own creation would react? Perhaps, in the end, they all wanted to see the world burn and repeatedly questioned "What's going to happen when the Countdown reaches 0?"

The burning of Fort Elrond and the crucifixion of their lead interrogator, the destruction Fort Secrecy and the emergence of Tregrenos's Factory turned Airship, and now this... All could have been prevented should the other writers have opposed Tregrenos's actions instead of accepting them, preferring to deal with the aftermath instead of the problem.

The Message: "RP is a lie. An unattainable goal. It doesn't matter how hard you try you CANNOT be who you are not. The characters you create, regardless of how elaborate the lie, are still who you are under the mask.

Your characters, who they are, how they act, feel and make moral decisions. What does all this make you? Who is the voice without spoken word?"

The message was not for the story, but for the readers and writers alike. It's always been about the message...

    ~The Nightmare Puppet & The Soulseer~
    Autophobia

Tregrenos has won. The great wall separating the lands has been crossed and begins to split. The wind funnel formed before the hole in the wall begins to steady, the lights within merging as the dimensional fabric of reality begins to tear from within. The strong currents that spread far and wide from the distortion were calm and quiet from within the eye of the storm. Meloettas song rang out, further steadying the torrential winds from within. Tregrenos's anticipation could not check the laughter heard across the valley below as the Destroyer of Reality prepared to leave this one. That is, until all fell silent.

Tregrenos's laughter ends, Meloettas song had come to an abrupt stop. As the funnel begins to move away from the hole, slowly dissipating, Tregrenos looks to the glowing tendrils below. The sphere of debris that had formed around the core of gravity began to fall as the light of the green tendrils fades. Meloettas form becomes appearent once more, still bound by tendrils, but lost in shock. As the light fades completely the Smeargle, Tsaikogen, is seen kneeling behind Meloetta, a fading, green sword piercing through her chest. As the sword vanishes completly Tsaikogen mutters the words "I'm sorry..." before collapsing to the floor.

Theme Something To Remind You By Staind

Tregrenos stares down, motionless. The tendrils that bound Meloetta unravel, her body still afloat as her eyes clear, senses returning. Tregrenos quietly move back, his face closer as his massive body looms above. Meloettas body lowers, the pain in her chest fading as her body numbs. Her breathing swallowed, but trembling at the sight before her. Is this the angel of death? Was she dieing? Why did this have to happen? "Why... No, not yet, I'm not ready..." she thought, holding her hands out to keep death at bay. As her body becomes limp her hands are taken by what look like a glowing, purplish-black mass of solid fire. The fire had taken the form of hands that gradually formed into a humanoid shaped body. As Meloettas hands slip through the cool embers of the spectral being she is caught by the larger hands of Tregrenos's collosal form. Again, her tiny hands are held by the spectral image before her, now taking a knea as it bent down to her level. The glow of the beeing and touch of its hands seemed somewhat soothing as her concious begins to fade. A familure soul seen within the embers to comfort her during the final moments. Her last thought being "OK..."

Meloettas hand falls through the spectral hands, caught again several times until the form had become solid enough to support her physical weight. Taking her hand in both hands the spectral figures head tilts, it's shoulders lowering as it's head hangs low in a bow. Above, the tendrils that had formed Tregrenos's large body begin to peel away, shards of metal clanking on the stone cave floor as the tendrils spread, fleeing the hole from both exits. As the body fades, the head-like sphere crumbling and the hands supporting Meloetta vanish, the spectral being reaches forward to take her body in its arms. Unspeaking, the figure stands and walks toward the exit to see the wind funnel moving away.

Where one side of the wall was nightfall the side the figure stood upon faced the dawn of a new day. The skies quieting, a cool, natural breeze rolling in, the funnel fading into the distance as the shadowy tendrils flee across the sky, vanishing upon moving a certain distance away from the spectral being. The skies calm, the sun shining upon Meloettas lifeless body, the spectral being looks down to her face. It jostles her head gently, trying to wake her to no avail. It jostles her again, more violently than before but with a sense of tenderness. With no sign of movement coming from the dead goddess the spectral being falls to its knees, the thud of his knees signifying his solidity.

Rocking back and forth with unease the being shakingly pulls Meloettas body closer, draping her head over his shoulder and doing so in return as the now solid being embraces the dead goddess. Continuing to rock back and forth the head of the being takes a more solid form, something akin to the earlier form of Tregrenos, the difference being that this creature is now solid black and the once perminant grin now twists in grimace as tears immediately roll down its face the moment eyes are formed. With the formation of the mouth came the vocals, a loud cry that sounded like an army screaming in unison. The cries filled the sky far and wide as if carried by the now invisible tendrils.

The being, Tregrenos, opens his yellow eyes to see the funnel between worlds fading into the distance. Returning to Meloettas shoulder his eyes close tight in a pain the likes of which he'd not felt in a long, long time. Gently lowering Meloetta to the ground Tregrenos closes her eyes and folds her arms, examining wound through her chest and knowing the angle had pierced her heart. Slamming his hand to the ground repeatedly he cries out "Why-why-WHY!?!" Looking down into Meloettas face with a frown he whispers "We were so close... Almost free... Don't leave me..." Grabbing Meloettas shoulders he shakes her lifeless body violently "Don't leave me! Don't leave me alone! Not again!" He slumps over, powerless "Not again... Not again..."

Looking to the sun Tregrenos, the Vile One, the God Killer, the Destroyer, has a moment of silent, lamentful peace. He speaks to the dead goddess "Won't you take my hand, my dear?" As he spoke his unclawed hand reaches toward his chest. "One last time..." As his hand reaches his chest it splits open. From within there are many tiny, orange, glowing spheres. He reaches into the spheres and roots around, a few rolling out and bouncing on the floor before vanishing in a puff of smoke. From deep within he pulls forth a single, large, purple glowing sphere that swirled with a black coloration violently as it's pulsing light quickened the further he pulled it from his body. He places the orb upon Meloettas chest and it slowly starts to sink in. While it sunk Tregrenos takes Meloettas hands and whispers "Won't you take my hand?"

Tregrenos's body begins reverting back into an incorporeal specter. As parts of his body reverted they began to tear away in string-like strands that quickly burned into puffs of smoke. Before the face had turned incorporeal Tregrenos repeats "Won't you take my hand, my dear?" With those words the face ignites in the previous purple flames, Meloettas hands slipping through his as the orb sinks completly into her chest. The last remanants of Tregrenos being a quiet echo through the cave as the sun fully arises.

With the warm sunlight touching her lifeless face, Meloettas eyes begin to open...

OOC: In the end, the being born from nothingness was still something, someone. Despite his nature being to destroy he took great pleasure in creation. He enjoyed life, saught to make the world better in his own way, however twisted and morally declined it may have been. A proud father to his creations, a surgical genius, a caring guardian who would go to any lengths to protect what was dear to him and, in the end, was prone to loneliness. He was doomed to misery at the moment of conception, but lived life to its fullest until such a day would arrive.

"Good" and "Evil" are a point of view and a state of mind. Our lives are far too short to close our minds to endless possibilities.

It's always been about the message... Who does that make me?

Note: There is one more story insert to go. A special ending of my role in the story for whomever has read this far into it.

    ~The Story of Yewer~
    Prelude

Meloetta opens her eyes to a new day, the chaos of recent events subsiding and a brave new frontier spread across for the survivors of the devistation on the ground far below. A cool breeze rolling in despite the hight of the hole Meloetta found herself in signified the dawn of a great new era. Pulling herself up in a drowsy state Meloetta stumbles a bit, making her way to the opening of the cave. Her hair a mess, tangled and knotted, her fingerless hands did little to tame the beast as she strokes the hair downward. The light of the morning sun was bright, an unrelenting but welcome sight to Meloettas sleepy eyes. Yawning, she rubs the tearing agitation of her left eye as if shed been asleep for a long time. The past events seemed as if they were but a flashing dream. Below, the raising cheer of a crowd is heard. The refugees, some still emerging from a hole below the great wall, cry out in praise at the end of the chaos they'd faced.

Meloetta continues to straighten her hair, brushing it from her left eye as she wiped away the tears. Had she been crying? As she pulls her hair down her hand brushes across her chest, the markings of a scar still fresh draws her attention. "What's... What's this?" she asks herself, feeling the closed wound as she tries to remember the dream she had. The memories piece together vaguely as Meloetta looks to the clear sky before her.

Below, the crowd cheers on. Revelry commences as plans are made for future exploration while prayer is said for those whome were lost. During the comotion an applauding survivor looks to the sky of a new land. His clapping slows to a halt, his expression falling as a darkness spreads in from the distance. Across the sky the tendrils return, converging upon the location of the higher hole in the wall. In an aggressive display the tendrils lash at the hole, diving in and retreating as they cut into the edges of the opening. Despite the aggression Meloetta appears lost in thought. She extends her left hand forward, beckoning the approach of one of the tendrils. Now focused on the lone tendril Meloetta asks "Won't you take me hand, my dear?"

Theme Turn The World Around By Krypteria

The tendrils response was hesitant, but it wraps around her fingerless hand in acceptance. The aggressive displays of the other tendrils die down with the calming gesture. Turning, Meloetta walks deeper into the cave to a mass of tendrils sprawled out upon the floor.

All was dark, quiet, dead. In the distance a soothing voice is heard. Tsaikogens eyes open to Meloettas silhouette kneeling beside him. Still weak and unable to move the broken Smeargle questioned if he was even breathing. His vision faded in and out, the feel of Meloettas hand upon his cursed right hand accompanied by a great pain below. Lifting his left hand and kicking his feet he realized that Meloettas other hand was upon his throat, pressing down and cutting off his breathing. During the struggle Tsaikogen looks to Melotta in fear and confusion before realizing the yellow coloration her left eye had taken. The same maddening look of the demon Tregrenos accompanied by dark, blackish veins spread acrossed the left side of her face, barely concealed by her tangled hair. His last sight would be the dimented, grinning face of the fallen Goddess.

When the struggle ends Meloetta returns to the entrance of the cave, floating as the closer tendrils begin to circle around her. The now silent valley is once again filled with Meloettas song. In the distance a funnel is seen. Unlike the one earlier this funnel was being dragged by an equal turbulence of black tendrils. With their spiral movements the light from within dots the valley below with moving shadows. The funnel collides violently against the wall, twisting at the impact and causing rifts of openings that pull in objects and refugees from both below and in the sky with the uncontained power of the rift.

Meloetta drifts higher, entering the vortex with open arms. As she is pulled into the mixing colors of light her final notes echo across the valley. The tendrils begin poring into the light, vanishing as the instability of the funnel grows. As the last of the tendrils vanishes the funnel steadies, dissipating as it is drawn into the distance once more.

Meloetta, no... Tregrenos, has succeeded in crossing the veil between worlds. He, they, are free at last, but to what ends? What fate lies before the Missing One? As for this world, the nightmare is over. Tregrenos and Meloetta are gone and Tsaikogens body is nowhere to be found. The past set in stone, the present debatable, the future uncertain.

"I'll see you later, my friends. And remember, It's always about the message."

OOC: With Meloettas departure the funnel begins to discipate. While this is the end of my role in this story Conner is faced with two choices, remain here and insure the future of the survivors or to enter the funnel to an unknown fate in persuit of Meloetta. To the other writers of the past who may be reading this, are you among the survivors or were you pulled into the unstable funnel?

Are you prepared to see how deep the rabbit hole goes?

OoC: Forget my response to the PM, I'm making a post!

Conner, despite all of the crazed moments, was at peace. But he was still worried. What happened to all of the refugees? Was the region completely dead? And what about the hole in the wall? For everything to truly go well, he needed to find Historius. He would know what to do.

He thanked Trainor, who was still recovering from his recent flight, and went to find Historius. His arm, as well as all of his body, was terribly sore. He could barely move, but he knew he had to see Historius. So, with slow undertaking, he made his way to the tunnel. The poison from the statue was spreading, but no longer in his direction, so Conner was safe.

After an hour or so, Conner made it to the hole, which was being filled in. Horrified, Conner quickly yelled to the workers to let one or two more people through. They waited, and let Conner go through.

"When a Pokémon named Trainor comes through, make sure to let him in. Afterwards, abandon this region.", Conner requested. They listened, and nodded. They wanted to get away from the poison, but no Pokémon should be left behind.

Conner made his way through the tunnel, and wondered about his life. His main goal was to find Mew, but now that was a distant memory. What should he do now? He saw Meloetta going through the vortex, and wanted to follow her. But, he wanted to guide the confused once-inhabitants of the Foran region get used to their new home. He was so confused.

Once out of the tunnel, he saw Pokémon thanking him for helping save the day. But he knew that it was truly Tsaikogen who saved them. But, who knows where he is now. He felt guilty, because the Foraners didn't want another hero. Tsaikogen was nothing special, save the fact to the LCF of Fort Vulture that he was a criminal to them. So, he let the cheering go on, feeling guilty for the true hero.

Eventually he found Historius. He wasn't unscathed from the recent attack, seen from his broken wing. Some debris from the wall must have hit him, and it had seriously injured him. He was still unconscious, but the Medical Chansey said he would come around most likely in a few hours. So, Conner waited in the tent where Historius was staying.

While he was waiting, he thought about what his next goal in life should be. He was no good at leading long term, so that would be a good reason on why he should go traveling to Meloetta. But, he didn't want to leave Historius, who could be a great leader in recovery. He could not decide while Historius was unconscious, so he waited the long time in which Historius rested.

OoC: I am rather burned out for now, and I also feel that this post does need another to go off of, to make up for my absence. So, wait for the next post.

After many hours, Historius woke up. He was still dizzy, so Conner assisted him. Historius looked up and saw his friend after a long time.

"Conner. I am so happy you survived.", Historius said weakly. Even if he had a broken wing, he hugged Conner as best as he could. Conner embraced it. Historius, after leaving the embrace, questioned, "I have a feeling that all is not well here, or another place. Could you explain what happened up there?"

Conner explained all that had happened up in the sky, from the start of the battle with the puppet, to Meloetta going into the vortex, which still stood. Afterward, Conner explained his intentions, to wither stay here and help rebuild this region, or to go pursue Meloetta and see what she was up to. Historius took in all the details, and sighed. He then explained,

"Conner, I know you are only a good leader in times of danger. And that time of danger has passed. And whatever is going on with Meloetta has to be looked into. So, I do have a solution.". Historius grabbed a small communicator out of the box next to him. Conner looked at it curiously.

"You know those only work within a certain range. What if the place I am going is far out of its boundaries?" Conner asked. Historius laughed.

"I designed this little gizmo to work many miles away. Even if you were 100 Forans apart, it would give a clear voice. Wherever you go, I ask you to take this. I have designed to of these, for you and I. You need to see what is behind that vortex... and I will certainly miss you.", Historius explained. He was very tired, and didn't want to go through this type of pressure; to not see Conner for a long while after this brief time. Conner kneeled down next to Historius' bed.

"I will try my hardest to come to you as soon as I handle this matter. As long as I have this communicator, I can always speak to you.", Conner responded. He looked out of the window. "It is getting late Historius. You should continue to rest. I will not be gone long.". After saying these words, Historius smiled, and went to sleep. *I hope you remain at peace like this until I return* Conner thought. He then left the tent, and went to find somebody to fly him into the vortex.
