You can only post in there, unless you want to do something with a character in Forever Pearl(a different start up thread),where you take it to the private RP thread ,titled under both RPs (Shining Diamond/Forever Pearl).

it makes sense, but i do wonder why we need separate RPs at all

I Don't know, they just wanted to? It sounds like, though, there are 2 main characters: Diamond And Pearl. there's a different Storyline for each side, and so they have to keep them separately ( Or both Base ball and Bayleef wanted to GM.) Seeing how long it's taking for baseball to come on, though, I think i'd like it if just Bayleef Gm'ed for now.
