Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Pure (Sign-Ups ongoing)

"Auria...... don't you remember seeing an evil Combusken before???" said Maria. "FireBlaze is only LeafShine's enemy."

"Hmm... ah, yes! I remember! ...I can't believe it... My mind has been so blank at times after devolution! All my memories from when I was Lucario are... fuzzy. It's gotten better over time, but..." Auria said.
Mia's eyes widened. "M-Maria! How much do you remember from being Leavanny? I mean, try to bring up a random memory, something that isn't very important. Like a small mission that your team did."
"It would either be worse or better than mine was, depending on their goals. If they want you to forget everything, then it'll probably be really bad. If they want devolved pokemon to remember, then your memory will be pretty good. This makes me wonder if part of, if not the whole, purpose of Team Devolution is to forget something... So, what do you remember? Recall a small mission. Nobody prompt or hint to her, please."
Team CombatMasters all looked at the devolved Swadloon expectantly.

"It all started in a burned down Pokemon Village. The last generation of Team FireBlaze had attacked Sinnoh. It was all over when.... A Raichu, I think..... had slain it's former leader." Said Maria. Lily had peed on her bed and returned.

"Y-You think that's minor?" Auria asked, shocked. "Okay, we have a problem. Maria, can you recall any missions that did not involve Team FireBlaze?"

"Uh, rescuing some Cherrim?" she said.

"Okay, that's better... can you remember any specifics? When, where, how?" Auria asked. Then, she suddenly froze. "Somebody is nearby... I believe it's someone from Devolution, but I'm not sure..." She muttered.

"Well, it took place in Eterna City of Sinnoh, how....... We did it for a Karrablast!" Maria said.

"Oh, good! Your memory must be n-" Mia began, but she was interrupted by Auria.
"Sssshhhhh!! There's someone nearby... a member of Team Devolution!"
"Yes, yes... pull a card from the deck..." Came a voice from the trees a few meters away.
"Oh, no..." Auria muttered. She recognized the voice.
"Oh, yes! You have pulled the letter X!" An Excadrill came out from the shadows.
"X-Card... You little..." Auria growled. "Attack!!" The team immediately ran forward, and this time the Devolution member fought back... he was very strong.

Vine and Bella went to attack the Devoluiton guy.

X-Card fainted. Auria grinned.
"Yes! Thank you for helping!!"
Auria suddenly began to evolve, glowing a bright white. but, halfway through the changing of her evolutionary stage, she stopped growing. Gardi stepped out of the shadows.
"Finally, it has been accomplished... Suspended evolution!" The Gardevoir teleported away, along with X-Card and...
"Auria!!" Mia shouted, panicked, as the half-evolved Aura Pokemon disappeared.
"Gardevoir was devolving her as she was trying to evolve, creating a cancel-out effect and stopping her from going to either evolutionary form," Crashu said wisely.
"That makes sense, but what would they do with that?" Mia replied, still worried.
"Well, think about how much energy there is during the evolution. Maybe they want to..."
"STEAL AURIA'S EVOLUTIONARY ENERGY?!"
"Precisely."
"WE HAVE TO STOP THEM!!"
"Yes, and to do that, we have to remain calm and devise a plan. Where would they be likely to be? Take bluffs and tricks into account. They're a pretty smart team."

"Maria, you're-" Vine said as Maria started to evolve. She returned to her Leavanny state a moment later.

"I see. You evolve by leveling, so since you were still at your evolving level when you devolved, you evolved soon after. Evidently they haven't figured out how to delevel... or maybe it's a trick. Back to the original question, though, where-"
"I say Village Bridge." Mia suddenly said. "I feel like Auria's there... maybe she's communicating with me."
"Then let's go!!"

Maria had realized Gloria and Rynah re-evolved. "Auria... I want to save Auria."

Aeros, Star, and Peace (now Pidove) flew down, and Crashu explained their situation.
"Sounds like you need a ride to Village Bridge!" Aeros replied. "Come on!"
He and Star spread their wings for the two teams to get on their backs, then flew to the Village Bridge. Within thirty minutes, they arrived.
"We're definitely coming with you. Peace got devolved to Pidove," Star said. They landed.
"This way!" Mia said, running in one direction under the bridge. Everyone followed.

Auria, now a Riolu, was laying, fainted, in a cage. Gardi noticed them and all of Team Devolution immediately turned to face the three opposing teams.
