Can I have the first battle against Brock? I'd prefer to get it out of the way quickly, and then have a few posts with training and character development.

If I may make a suggestion, in the Pokémon Universe RPG, people are mostly able to control Gym Leaders in their own Gym Matches because that would mean that they have full control of anything that happens in their own Gym Battle. This includes dramatic twists, evolutions, or anything that involve the match. As long as each person maintains the Gym Leader's character, it is okay.

As for Contest Battles, we make it so that every Player may control their opponent unless their opponent is another Player.

Ah Lone Wolf, that was my suggestion, I even said I got the idea from Pokemon Universe...

There are always two scary questions that I think about when I see a new RP situated in Kanto. They would be:

1 - Will you be challenging the Pokémon League Tournament at the end or the Elite Four?

2 - Who is the Viridian Gym Leader? What is stopping the Trainer from visiting the Gym on their first visit?

1. I'd imagine the Elite Four, but with the Trainers becoming 'Elite Trainers' instead of the Champion.

2. Perhaps the Gym was closed for renovation? And if the RP follows game-canon, this could always just take place after R/B and have Blue as the gym leader.

1-Pokemon League Tournament just like in the animes rather than the E4 in the games.

2-I'd say a trainer like Blue but one who specializes in ground-types. The second, I'm stumped.

3-Will we have a villainous group?

I'd prefer a League Tournament, as there would obviously be a Grand Festival.

Once everybody gets to Viridian and does all that registration stuff Kuro talked about in his own post, let's either eat at the foodcourt and then go to our rooms for some rest or directly go to our rooms and then timeskip to the next day with the gym battles. Cole/Gray wanted to go first, I can go second or I could first too (I intend to have my character get up at 6 am to either challenge the gym or do some training). The next day we have the Pewter City Contest starring Camille and Castelia.

Another idea from Pokemon Universe about the Contests. We have 8 cities that we go to in order to challenge gyms. That means 8 contests and we have two coordinators. So, rather than requiring 5 ribbons to compete in the GF the number should either be 3 or 4 (it's 3 in Pokemon Universe)

3 would be good, because we can't have them winning every Contest and I don't believe you can just compete in the Contest again like in gym battles. Then again, I don't normally watch the anime and I've seldom played a Coordinator in an RP, so I'm not sure.
