Thread: Pokemon: Hidden Intentions [Sign Up]

Story:

It has been 12 years since the events of Gold and Silver. (We are going by the merit that Ho-oh and Lugia were optional like in the original, i.e. they're still wild pokemon in this.)

Just now, a new pokemon terrorist group has immersed. They work in the shadows, and not alot of people know alot about them, not even the police. The only thing for certain that's known about this group, is that they referred to their organization as Team Ultima, and the higher ups in the organization use very rare and powerful pokemon. Also unlike other terrorist groups before it, they have no problem using their pokemon to attack not only their foe's pokemon, but the trainer themselves as well. In fact, some of the higher-ups in the team prefer to aim for the trainer from the start.

About 2 years after Team Ultima appeared, a new corporation emerged in Saffron City, known as Starr Corporation. It was founded by a man known as Victor Starr. Soon after it's establishment, Starr Corporation grew like wildfire, making advances in pokemon items, pokemon research, and pokeball technology much faster then their competition, Sliph Co. Just last year, Starr Corporation managed to drive Sliph Co. into extinction. Starr Corporation only used it's money to help sponsor things such as the Goldenrod City Expansion Project, joint-ownership of the Goldenrod Global Trainer Station, and even the Kanto-Jotho Pokemon League itself. Lately however, there has been claims that some pokemon placed up for trading in the Goldenrod Global Trainer Station have gone missing, but all the police investigations on the matter failed to turn up anything, either due to lack of permission to investigate further into the Station due to Starr Corporation's influence, or because the police themselves mysteriously vanished while looking into the case, or were paid off by Starr Corporation to cease the investigation.

All while it seems Starr Corporation is slowly trying to get all of the major industries on it's side, Team Ultima is still very active and strong in the shadows...it seems like it's just waiting to make it's move, but what is it's purpose? Some rumors going around claim the team is trying to capture the legendary birds in order to weaponize them to make a unbeatable army, some claim that the team is trying to cause a war between Johto and Kanto in order to try and rise up amidst the chaos, and others claim that it's actually a secret pokemon cartel that first sells off shines and other rare pokemon to sponsor their activities and to slowly make their way into the governments of the world, controlling it from the inside out. Will the true intentions of both imposing forces be revealed in time?

That was the opening plot for this RP, the first act will take place in Goldenrod City. Don't worry, we will be hitting other cities and areas as the RP continues.

Rules:

- Standard rules, no godmodding and the like
- You can be either good or bad if you'd like, or even one of the higher-ups of Team Ultima (Like have a Commander class or something), but all of the Admins will be played by me.
- You can also be something other then a Trainer, like a Pokemon Ranger or the like. If you have another idea for what your character will be, run it by me via PM, and most likely I'll accept it.
- Try and keep OOC and stuff in this thread, which I will make along with the main RP thread after at least 5 people sign up for this.
- If you do join, TRY TO BE ACTIVE SO THAT THE REST OF US DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOU. If you are inactive for a long time, we will continue onwards in the RP without you.
- One user can have more then one character to use in the RP, but the maximum number of characters per user is 6...but I'm allowed to go over for story reasons. =P

For an example, here are the first character I'll unviel, along with two fill-ins for story purposes. =P Also, the story is taken place in Kanto-Johto. You can have a character that's from Hoenn or another place and have pokemon from that region, but make it so that they enter the Kanto-Johto region for the story. Also, only I have allowed to leave sections as 'Unknown' or not reveal all of the character's pokemon, and it is only for plot reasons.

Personality: Chris has a strong sense of justice and will do what it takes in order for justice to be upheld. He also will help anyone in need that he sees. Chris is also strong psychically, he knows several martial art moves for self defense.
History: Chris isn't like most pokemon trainers. Instead of just blindly going off into the world at the age of 10, he attended Goldenrod University, where he did a 6-year education to earn his bachelor's degree AND to learn about how the world works. He started his pokemon journey at the age of 16, 4 years before the appearance of Team Ultima. However, he got his starter pokemon before then. It was when he was taking stroll through Route 35 during his final year in university when he found a near death Shiny Charmander. He nursed it back to health and got close to it. So it was that Charmander became his starter. He then traveled Johto to become a trainer and to assemble his team. He is currently living in Goldenrod, a bit uneasy about the Starr Corporation influence that's heavy over Goldenrod, and fearing for his Charizard's (his Charmander became a Charizard through experience during the travels through Johto) safety, seeing as it's a shiny one, and how it seems rare pokemon like that are being stolen nowaday. He doesn't trust Starr Corporation and plans on trying to find the truth behind the matter one of these days...

Appearance: Jack is a tall white man at 6 feet, he has bright blonde hair with green eyes. His normal street clothes is normally just an average pokemon league shirt you can buy at the pokemon league gatherings and a pair of either jeans that are shorts, or jeans that are pants depending on the weather.

Personality: At first he's very nice and ongoing to everyone he meets, but when he's all business for the Team, his nice and kind facade changes into a very dark and menacing persona that's not afraid to get himself dirty with the really dirty jobs or to do what it takes to advance the goals of Team Ultima. Due to this, it's unknown which side is the true Jack..the Kind Trainer, or the Menacing Monster...

History: Not much is known about Jack, but he started his pokemon journey in Hoenn. He was always in love with Mawile, seeing as it perfectly matched his personality. He spent days upon days in Victory Road, trying to catch a shiny Mawile. He never gave up, and even unleashed his menacing persona, violently beating down all the pokemon he encountered in Victory Road with no problem while searching for the shiny Mawile. After a month in Victory Road, he found the Shiny Mawile. Maybe by fate, the Mawile was also bullying the other pokemon in Victory Road, somewhat calling out to Jack. Once he cleared the Hoenn Pokemon League, he came over to Johto where his tenancy and personality did not go unnoticed by Leader Nova. Nova itself came before Jack in a Team Ultima Cloak and offered Jack the position of Commander to start out. Jack accepted and quickly rose to one of the 4 Admins due to his outstanding work. After a year of being one of the Admins, Jack is now heading toward Goldenrod City, where Team Ultima already bought him a house down there, to try and expand operations in Goldenrod so that that area of Johto would also have Ultima agents planted among other things planned for the area...

Bio: Not much is known about Johnson's past, but it is rumored he used to be a Pokemon Ranger in the region of Hoenn. Even though there is little known abot his past, alot is known about his work for Team Ultima. He's known as "The Ultima Napper" and is the go-to guy for kidnapping, both of trainers and of pokemon. He is also the expert when it comes to reconnaissance. He is also rumored to be the Commander with the best shot of getting the much coveted promotion to Admin, and also stresses reform, hating how the governments of the world and the law enforcement are running things...he joined Team Ultima to further a certain goal of his...

Personality:Cassie tends to keep to herself and has a Quite steak, she is very careful and calculating. she has a mask that she hides her feelings behind, and tries to avoid people. She has some basic weapon knife skills.

History:Cassie hails from the cold Sinnoh region, from a poor family. she left home at the age of 12, and whet to she the professor and got her trusty Flare, a Chimchar. She did not have it easy as she lacked food, and other supplies. so she started stealing. It did not take long for her to see that she had talent in this skill and taking something would come very easy to her, and she stated training at it. soon her Chimchar became a Monferno, . on her way she cough the attention of a sneaky Murkrow, that needed a Dusk Stone to Evolve. together they stole it, and the now Honchkrow desired to stay with her, as thanks. as time pasted she got fancier in in steals. a rick women's ring, a man's gem. these thief's gained the attention of a leader or a small gang of thefts. She was given the sig pokemon of that group, Scraggy. while she worked with them, she was taught many imported skills of thievery. her Scraggy and Monferno evolved. while she was working she also found a staring shinx, discarded because it lacked the right egg move, Cassie, knowing of hunger her self took it in and cared for it She also know that it may learn how to see tough wall which would be a powerful assent. Later the cops discovered their group and forced in to disbanding. Only their leader was arrested, do to the fact that only rare Items were ever taken. After that Cassie became a free lance thief, stealing what she wanted while it to evolved. she came to Goldenrod City because of the large population of rich.

Personality:
Cheerful, childish, and fun-loving; Kyra usually surrounds the people around her with an air of happiness or good mood, at least. She doesn’t show it when she’s sad because she doesn’t like it when her sorrow affects those who are with her, so sometimes her felicity is but a facade. It, however, is easy to differentiate whether her smiles and laughter are fake or not; all one must do is simply look at her Umbreon, Shadow. When the Dark-type Eeveelution appears to be down, then so is his Trainer.

Kyra strongly believes in the “age doesn’t matter” thingy, and therefore doesn’t act her age at all… except when she needs to. Yes, this sometimes-seemingly-carefree young lady knows when to be serious, especially when things are going rough. And unlike her big sister, Kyra remains calm and collected when facing danger or hard times; she’ll only start to panic when nothing seems to be getting any better. She can be very dramatic at times, though, because she sees it as a hobby or something fun to do.

History:
Kyra, as her surname suggests, is Miomi’s little sissy. Having been around Pokemon since birth due to her dad being a Pokemon Breeder, Kyra immediately fell in love with the strange creatures, especially with those that resemble her favorite animals (dog and cat family). Eevee and its evolutions became her top favorites, with Umbreon as the number one on the list. Because of that fact, Kyra requested to have an Eevee as her Starter; if Professor Rowan doesn’t have any in his lab, then she would wait until her dad gets one. Lucky for her, her dad did obtain an Eevee egg when she was still eight years old. It hatched after a few days or so, and it was revealed to be a male; and since Kyra had her mind set in evolving him into an Umbreon, she named him Shadow.
Too bad Kyra and her Eevee can’t go on a journey yet, so what they did was just play around; but they would also train every once in a while. Time plus laughter and smiles plus fun plus practically everything else is equal to a really strong, unbreakable bond. Their bond even came to the point wherein the Eevee would know what Kyra is feeling, and that’s what he’d feel too. The happiness and love level are already more than enough for Shadow to evolve, but he still lacks experience, so no evolution took place -- which is good because it wouldn’t be fair if she started with a non-Basic Pokemon.

When the moment finally arrived for Kyra and Shadow to travel, they immediately went on their way. Kyra didn’t really focus that much on the “I’m gonna be a Pokemon Master” thingy; she just wanted to make new friends -- both humans and Pokemon, and experience a life in the wild. Of course, having a rival or two was inevitable, but she still didn’t mind them.
Because of her somewhat easygoing personality and lots of off-track events, it took Kyra three years to finish with the region -- longer than it probably should. She also placed twentieth in the Sinnoh League. (Shadow evolved after a night battle with one of Kyra’s rivals a few days subsequently she finished the third gym.)

After the Sinnoh League, Kyra decided to take a break and head back to her home so that she’d be reunited with her family. It saddened her when she realized that Miomi wasn’t there anymore, well not in their house, anyway; Miomi was still somewhere within the region, but Kyra didn’t know that because they haven’t talked to each other ever since she left.
Kyra spent a year under the company of her parents before she made up her mind to go forth to a new region. What she chose was Kanto, wherein she progressed two years faster than Sinnoh. After finishing the Kanto League (she placed as the top eighteenth), Kyra headed to Johto. Unknown to her, Miomi’s already there, helping out with the Starr Corporation incident.

Alice was raised in a very wealthy family.She was originally born somewhere in Hoenn.For her 5th birthday,she was given a Plusle and Minun as a starter pokémon.She loved the two pokémon and the two pokémon loved her and always kept her company.They've always protected her.At the age of 7,they moved to Hearthrome City in Sinnoh so that her mother could participate in the Pokémon Contest there and for her father to get a chance to defeat the elite four.Since her father's very busy training,she always watches her mother in contests with her two pokémon.She was always dazzled by the beautiful moves and all.

That's why she wanted to be a top coordinator one day.She did become one,along with her two starters Plusle and Minun,a Shiny pink Pachirisu,which she befriended back at Sinnoh while she was playing in the forest when she was 8,an Eevee,which she also befriended when she was 9 back at Goldenrod City before they left,an Emolga,which she befriended back at Unova when she was 10,and a Cyndaquil,which she also befriended and was actually given to her by Prof. Elm for watching the Jotho starters for the day when they arrived to Jotho again at the age of 11...

Terra was given an excellent education, and she caught on very fast. Terra was doing so well in school that she skipped a couple of grades and finished school early. My first time ever here to try an RP

Name: Lana di Costa

Appearance: A young woman with light blonde hair, her hair silky smooth and wavy going just past her shoulders although sometimes she will in fact make it a ponytail depending on the situation. Lana stands at an impressively average 5 ft 10 while her weight is average for her age and height. Lana has bluish-grey eyes that weren't large nor small but in a way they give the impression that is she a stern woman. Moderately thick eyelashes and moderately thin eyebrows give her a very attractive facial appearance. She wears a darker red shade of lipstick (closer to maroon) and a glamorous pair of earings. She is very athletic because of her lifestyle and her personality which gives her advantage especially with her history in athletics and gymnastics. She wears various clothing but mainly the outfit that she will wear here would be a black soft fashion leather jacket with a white top, dark blue denim jeans that lead to light brown heeled boots along with a silver bracelet on her left wrist and also a silver sapphire necklace along her neck. Now the rest of her appearance. Lana has a medium-big chest size comparative to the female her age as an average. She has long slender legs and also slender arms which even though she is athletic, is shows that she is not really fit as in muscular.

Personality: Lana is a difficult person in some aspects. She is an extremely tactically hard working person but her lust for action kind of puts that tactics to bed. Lana acts more than she is supposed to, very headstrong and likes to get the job done her way or superior's method. She likes to shoot first then ask questions meaning that she will get what she wants with information by any means necessary. Although the only time she will use those tactics are when she is brawling. Her lifestyle is more get down and dirty, she likes to surf, ski, run, jump and stay active. Her love of gymnastics and running adds to that experience that she has in dealing with situations that she can escape from. Lana is not a hot headed person though but not cool and calm, she is emotional and wears her heart on her sleeve. Although she likes to stay active, she does love fashion and works a lot on her appearance to make her feel better and to get attention. Lana likes to play the femme fatale card when it comes to dealing with people because she has that sultry voice going for her. Her other skills include that she is a great fighter in areas such as brawling, martial arts and judo. She can interact with people with a wide array of languages. The problems with her is that she headstrong, pretty idiotic, too emotional and has a moral compass which does sometimes cloud her judgement which adds to the fact that she is easily swayed.

History: Lana grew up in a family where there were a lot of opportunities. She was middle class but her family broke up due to a little martial problem. Lana stayed with her mother who had a checkered history. Let's just add to the fact that her mother was an assassin (retired) and her father an agent which again put a lot of strain between the Lana and her brother Rick. Growing up was really interesting though, her mother was rarely seen and her father and this is where she knew that she had to be independent in order to survive and knowing that she was going to be a target due to history, it was very tough for her unlike her brother. She grew up in the city of Blackthorn and as all people in her age group, she went on a Pokemon journey but unlike other trainers, she didn't have a group of assassins following her just to train her. Ironically she was also trained by her father which left to be desired on her allegiance. Anyway Lana used being a Pokemon Trainer as a cover to learn what she needed to do properly, she focused on many things to make her a force to be reckoned with. However she needed to land a solid job which was hard for her because either she was too inexperienced or just not a good fit but regardless she worked with her Pokemon and her goal to focus on getting a job and getting to be a solid killer or evil person. She received a tip off that something was going to happen in Johto but not where she was at the moment but it was the main city of Goldenrod which would be the next location for Lana to go to in order to hopefully find a job or at least go shopping.
