Ciarda, determining she'd need to find out what was up, went around and explored Route 5 some more, only to find the grass was moving. "RUN LIKE MAD!!!!" yelled Tanisa.

"Really? Okay," May said, shrugging. "I might catch something if any interesting pokemon pass by, as long as Auros cooperates. I keep a couple pokeballs in my bag, though I've never caught any pokemon before."

Ciarda went and walked into the tall grass, only to see something jump out at her.

A Gothita jumped and attacked Tanisa, but she used Fly, and smacked into the Gothita, severely injuring it. Ciarda tossed a Poke Ball at it, it shook 3 times, then clicked. Yes! she thought, I finally caught a Pokemon after all this time!

"You were about to go around the region by yourself without any Pokemon?" Ian asked May curiously.

Ciarda laughed at the pathetic Gothita. And Tanisa braced herself, a Gothita patrol was on the way.

"Er..." May said. "...I don't... I... I guess you don't watch or read the news..." she decided to say. "At least, not the missing kid section. Is... Is that right?"
Auros knew what that meant. He felt that he should have been surprised at this fact, but he wasn't. It was like he already knew it, but he had never even met this girl before...

Ciarda screamed and ran for Nimbasa City.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have tried to pry," Ian said nervously.

Finding her way out of the city, Sala set out across Route 16, feeling herself getting closer to whatever she was heading towards with each step.

"No, it's fine," May said calmly. Then, suddenly, she looked angry. "Of course you shouldn't have pried! That was really rude! You should have known better than to ask something like that! You should have been able to figure it out!" As she went on like this for a minute or so, Auros didn't seem very surprised, but he looked apologetic towards Ian as if apologizing on May's behalf. Which was weird, because he hardly knew her and yet already somehow seemed to know a lot of things about her.

In Nimbasa City, Ciarda ran for the Gym. Best shot for safety.

May phased out of her anger and went back to normal. "I... S-sorry about that."
