    Default Pilgrimage: A Summoner's Journey

Here is the map of the world Spira, become familiar with it because there will be a lot of traveling in this RP

    http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy/images/b/be/Ffxmap.jpg

BACKGROUND INFORMATION FOR THIS RP!!! MUST READ!!!!

Almost 1,000 years ago, Spira was a world full of technology and machines, dubbed machina (MAH-ki-nah). Two city-states, the machina-heavy Bevelle and the summoner magic city of Zanarkand, were at war with each other. Bevelle's machina gave them the upper hand and Zanarkand was about to lose the war, when the survivors gathered in Zanarkand under the guidance of Yu Yevon, their leader. Believed to be the most powerful summoner alive, Yu Yevon directed all Zanarkand citizens to flee to the nearby Mt. Gagazet. Then as a sign from the very gods themselves Sin appeared and destroyed the great Machina cities, one by one. A master-less Sin turned around and completely destroyed the real Zanarkand, proceeding to decimate the incoming Bevellian army. From that point onwards, Sin destroyed any large city, quickly becoming a terror to all Spirans and uniting Spira under a common fear.

    The First Calm:
On the eve of Zanarkand's destruction, Yunalesca, Yu Yevon's own daughter, herself a very skilled summoner, managed to escape the doomed city with her husband Zaon. After Sin's appearance she and her husband travel to Zanarkand, where she summons a Final Aeon, and defeats Sin for the first time but at the cost of her life. With Sin's defeat, a short period of peace settles on Spira. Unfortunately, within months Sin was able to regenerate a new body, and Spira's plight begins anew. The intermission during which Sin is being regenerated will further be known as "The First Calm".

    Second Calm:
Bound by her promises towards both her father and Bevelle, Yunalesca remains in Zanarkand as an unsent. It is assumed that she crafted a deal with Bevelle: in exchange for all people honoring the memory of her father, she would ensure an immunity to Bevelle against Sin's rampage, and show Spirans a way to defeat Sin. During the following decades, Bevelle's leadership slowly mutates into a religious organization whose central figure is "Yevon", a benevolent teacher who tells Spirans ways to atone for their faults and reliance on machina, which supposedly has brought Sin to their world. While Yevon slowly establishes its hold over most of Spira, summoners from all around gather and try to vanquish Sin, with little success. Finally, after more than 600 years, a summoner named Gandof is able to defeat Sin for the second time, thus creating the "Gandof's Calm". However, Gandof suffers the same fate as Yunalesca: Summoning the Final Aeon and thus dieing in the process. As before, this calm is very short lived.

    The High Summoner's Pilgrimage
Gandof's success at defeating Sin was a major accomplishment, even though the Calm lasted less than a year. Given the length of Sin's unchecked rampage, any brief respite and any victory gives Spirans hope of overcoming the beast one day. Gandof's path sets the measure of the accomplishment, and probably finished the shaping of the pilgrimage as it is known in modern Spira. After his death Gandof was named "High Summoner," a title which will from then on be bestowed posthumously on all who have defeated Sin. Statues of Gandof were built and put in all Spira's temples and his story is told to all Spirans as an example of honor and sacrifice to be followed. To defeat Sin, High Summoner candidates, known only as "Summoners," journey through a series of Yevon temples, gathering powerful Aeons at each temple in preparation for obtaining the Final Aeon in Zanarkand.

    Other Calms:
230 years after Gandof's Calm, a former Kilikan blitzball star, Ohalland, manages to equal Yunalesca's and Gandof's feat and defeat Sin - only to bring about a much too short Calm. 200 years later, Lady Yocun becomes the first female summoner since Yunalesca to achieve this momentous task.

    TERMS TO KNOW:

Blitzball: It is an underwater game, played in a large sphere of water. In the interest of sportsman-like conduct, even races of Spira who might normally not get along with each other are allowed to compete. It is Spira's favorite sport, allowing fans to take their minds off the ever present threat of Sin, and the only mainstream form of entertainment.

Fayth: The Fayth are humans who willingly had their souls sealed in statues in a state of dreaming. Their power allow a Summoner to coalesce the power of pyreflies to create either physical forms called Aeons or other magical phenomena.

Guardian: Guardian is a warrior tasked with protecting a summoner during their pilgrimage across Spira to defeat Sin and bring the Calm. Most summoners travelled with one or two Guardians, though some, most notably Yuna, were protected by upwards of six. The earliest known Guardian, as well as the first to defeat Sin, was Lord Zaon, the lone guardian of Lady Yunalesca, the first High Summoner.

Aeons: The Aeons are obtained by completing the Cloister of Trials at each of Spira's different Temples in order to train the body of a summoner to summon the final aeon.

    Gil: Money in Spira

Prayer to Yevon: a complicated gesticulation that starts with the hands out to either side before bringing them into the chest, as though holding a sphere, and bowing.

Sending: This is a ritual dance that sends the pyreflies (multicolored lights that represent a person's life energy) of the deceased on their way to the Farplane, preventing the pyreflies from coalescing into a fiend.

Any questions, pm me and I’ll answer best I can….. NOW ON TO OUR PLOT

It is the reign of the second calm and it is slowly coming at an end; though people don’t speak of it an ominous cloud is affixing itself upon the world. New summoners are beginning their pilgrimage each and every day, while others have all ready started their journey to defeat the new Sin which is threatening Spira. From all walks of life the people of spira are united in a single front of fear and hope, all centered around Sin and the devastation it has caused. The newest addition to wave of new Summoners is a young lad by the name of Amal from the island of Kilika. This story begins in the small island of Kilika with Amal seeking out his closest friends to become his guardians for his journey....

Pilgrimage Class:(THIS IS FOR THE GUARDIANS TO CHOOSE THEIR CLASS read this page carefully to choose best for you, http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Job if not part of Pilgrimage don't fill out)
Description:(four lines and if possible a picture as well)
    History:(5 lines at minimum)
Hometown:(refer to map, and look up the place before deciding)
    Personality:

    Name: Amal

    Age: 18

    Race: Human

    Pilgrimage Class: Summoner

Description: Amal has a tan skin tone, as do most all of the villagers from the islands do, and his blond hair, which is almost a glowing pure white, shines against his tan skin and rests at almost shoulder length. His almond shaped eyes are a deep sky blue and give off a gentle glow that shows his lighthearted inner nature. He is, like most villagers, tall and slim being around 6 foot 2 and weighing in at about the average, if not slightly more, for his age and height. Around the village he wears what is considered traditional clothes which are made up of green shorts and a short sleaved shirt. All designed for maximun coolness around the hot island.

His Yevon attire consists of an open white robe that flows elegantly around him when he walks and underneath is an ivory colored tunic, both of which are embroidered with etchings of gold throughout it's weave. Along his tunic he wears a leather like vest with several rune markings along it to add a sense of importance to it. His leggings are of the same design and the same material which allows for maximum comfort and maneuverability during critical moments. Around his right leg is a dagger holster which is concealed by both his robe and leggings. He wears a pair custom cut black boots which are made to only fit around his foot to add a more comfortable boot. Around his neck is a crystal necklace which he created himself

History: Being the son of the greatest Blitzball player of the time you would think that Amal would live the life of complete and total luxory, you'd be wrong. Ever since he was a child he has worked along side his fellow villagers in an attempt to make island life better for all. At the age of 6 the Kilika temple received a statue of Yunalesca in order to rise the hopes of those who would seek to combat Sin. This was the first experiece with Sin Amal had, but it would be far from the last. As he was praying at the temple one night a violent tremur ripped around the island and within moments Kilika was under siege, then silent. Sin had attacked ruthlessly and without care before leaving into the shadow of night.

The attack had devestated the village and killed many villagers, a Summoner by the name of Gandof who was on his pilgrimage passed through while on his way to the temple fayth and performed the sending. This image was forever etched into Amal's memory and became the reason he wanted to be a Summoner. After 12 long years Gandof managed to defeat Sin for the second calm and a sigh of relief befell Spira. During this time Amal had been training to become a summoner and at the time of the calm he had completed all but the last challenge: The Cloister of Trials. This of course must be done once a party of guardians is acquired and can accompany Amal in just in case of an emergency situation.

    Hometown: Kilika

Personality: When getting to know Amal he is a very harsh and rough person as you first get to know him, he never trusts someone until they earn his respect. Once you earn his trust Amal becomes almost a completely different person. Amal is a pretty laid back guy and tends not to take most anything seriously, rather he looks at it all like it is a game to be played and have fun with. He is always in a happy mood and never lets the world get him down even if the world around him is crashing down he will be in a good mood. His philosophy on life is that when someone smiles they temporarily forget all their pain and hurt that is in their life; As such he tries to make everyone around him happy, even at the expense of his own happiness as long as it means that his friends will be happy.

While being very intelligent Amal has his brash moments where all his brains are over ruled by his instinct causing him to act carelessly. He is also a very stubborn lad, as most are at a young age, and has an iron will that never yields when opposed. When his respect and trust has been earn there has never been a more loyal friend as well as ally than Amal and he will sacrifice himself at a moments notice to save his friends.

    Requiem For Thy Pain

    Name: Jaccer Cobalt

    Gender:
    Male

    Age: 15

    Race: Human

    Pilgrimage Class: Black Mage

    Description:
Jaccer has slightly pale skin, and some burn spots from failed spells. His hair is medium length, and will be straight laid down. His eyes are a dark green shade, and give off a felling that he's annoyed at something. He is shorter than most people his age, and is thin. He is about 5'0" and weighs about 120 pounds. He often wears a red robe with the hood usually up. Underneath the robe he wears a black shirt. He wears black gloves to protect his hands if a spell goes wrong. His weapon of choice is a staff that is important to him.

Basic appearance: http://www.asiseaprende.cl/web/wp-content/Cimy_User_Extra_Fields/Rodrigohidalgo/avatar/sugg-edward-elric.jpg (Except brown hair)

    Staff: http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l464/2hacker47/staff1.jpg

History: The Cobalt family never did anything extraordinary. His father was a house builder, and his mother stayed at home to take care of Jaccer. He was an only child so he had no siblings. Nothing extraordinary happened in his life, he hasn't even seen Sin yet. He never really wanted to be a mage, but the village Black mage saw something in him. He was an old man named Facqual. He trained him for years, and it was tough, but Jaccer learned quickly. They worked hard, and even forgot to eat sometimes.
Facqual became like a second father to him. Sadly after three years of harsh training, Facqual died of old age when Jaccer was 14. Jaccer didn't stop though. He continued his training and became the villages' Black Mage for protection against the elemental monsters. He now holds his mentor's staff as a weapon, and a memento.
Currently he's at Kilika to view their mages' habits. He wants to better himself so he can protect the village, and knows he can't do that if he's too weak.

    Hometown: Besaid Island

Personality: Jaccer is a wise, and smart kid for his age. Although he is he barely shows it. He usually uses vulgar language to describe his thoughts or emotions, he's also kind of a smart-ass. He isn't very trusting, and rarely becomes friendly fast. Although he's a smart-ass he's a good kid. Even if he is good, he doesn't automatically hate evil. He will hate somebody good as much as if they were evil if they do something directly to him. He gets annoyed very easily at almost anything wrong. He'll find a fault in anything, and that makes him a pretty good strategist. He is hard-headed, and stubborn. Often making witty, or insulting remarks about anything, or anyone. He doesn't really hate anything, he just really dislikes them. He is very judgmental. Although all this he can be very friendly.

    Requiem for thy pain

    Name: Edgar Natas

    Class: Fighter

    Race: Human

    Age: 24

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Ed spent years training, and it shows. His body is fairly muscley, and he stands at a little over six feet tall. He usually wears a normal white shirt, shorts, samurai-style geta, and a long red jacket. His white-blonde hair is fairly long, due to the fact that he hates getting it cut. He also has a large amount of scars on his body, with an x-shaped one on his right cheek. He has three swords: ON his back a Nodachi (Two-handed katana), on his waist a katana and wakizashi (Short katana.)

    Hometown: Luca

History: Edgar grew up in a relatively poor neigborhood, where crime was rampant. Thus, growing up, and coupled with training from his uncle, he learned to fight really well, began to enjoy it. All his life he wanted to be a guard. However, he failed the test to become one due to his amorality. Thus, instead, he decided to try his hand as a travelling mercenary. Now, he's almost totally broke in Kilika, and may have to sell his weapons to pay off his substantial gambling debts.

Personality: Edgar, while good at his job, isn't very nice. He never hesitates to kill, and often takes a the ends justify the means approach to things. However, the one thing he'll never, ever do is raise his blade against an innocent. He's a hedonist to the core, and thus usually wastes all his money on food, fine wine, and gambling.

Not changing my signature 'till TWEWY 2 comes out.

Also this RP is really cool. It's like Percy Jackson. You can be a god's reincarnation and have powers and you're at a school and it's totally radical!

Jaccer: Well with the summoner class being the central piece of the story, would it be wise to give that power to someone else, when I have a specific direction i wish to take the players in? The summoner is essentially the DM of the group, since he/she chooses where the group goes and who is a part of the group. I could put two people in the exact same circumstances and get different results, hence why I am playing the role of summoner. It allows me to control the pace of the journey and where we actually end up going.

Now on to your sign-up: I like your character, only thing I can say is watch your grammar and punctuation. In regards to the spell list, there is no need to make one because even though you've been trained you will still start off at the low end of the magic community, only being able to use the basic four spells of Water, Thunder, Fire and Blizzard. You would be accepted, but your post is lacking a little something to grant you permission.

MoP: Although your character looks like Auron, and Kenshin combined, with a little Zoro flare, I like his personality. It should offer a bit of a foil for my character due to the differences between their values. Though I will have to ask for a bit more detail in your posts once the rp starts up.

However, we must now dissect your sign-up: Djose isn't known for crime... In fact the only real noticeable landmark of the area is the temple. Not much else, not even a blitzball team. I suppose a small village could be located somewhere in the area, but there isn't much out in that area. One possible solution for this would be to say you were born near Djose, but lived in another city, for you it would probably be best if it were Luca. Next, due to your characters likes and interests, it would be hard to actually earn a spot within Amal's pilgrimage, since he chooses who his guardians are. With your character being a "hedonist", it would make getting chosen a bit difficult, you would have to have saved his life and shown some sort of redeeming quality. However, as long as you have a plan to get accepted into the pilgrimage, I have no big qualms about this, just make it a believable scenario.

(a small side note being that there is no test to be a guardian, you just have to get chosen by the summoner)

((Do you meant the fact that I forgot to put my gender? Sorry about that.

My grammar and things are usually pretty good, but I was writing my sheet at about 1 AM. That's also why I forgot the gender.))

I know, he failed the test to be a guard. As in, an officer of the law. And I actually never played FFX. I just chose Djose 'cause it sounds funny. But your idea works too.

You should check out the Wiki if you don't know something.

Will we start out in a group, or will it be like FFX where we individually join the team at a time?

Ah, alright well I didn't know if you were shortening Guardian to Guard, and Jaccer is right, I put all the Wiki articles up for a reason. If you don't know something then just look it up at the FF wikia, it can answer pretty much anything you want. But also don't hesitate to PM me as well, I pretty much know everything on this subject

Jaccer, well it depends on you two really.. I mean we are starting out on Kilika, obviously, and since Besaid and Luca are just a hop skip and a jump away, you both could have a legitimate excuse to be there. Just depends on how you want to do it.

Jaccer: That works fine, since Kilika does have the fire temple and all

MoP: Alright that was my thinking too, but remember you have to do something pretty persuasive to actually gain admittance into the party. Since you are kind of shady and are little less than a honest citizen.

Kilika is a small island, so not that much. I think that Luca would have the most crime. It's the biggest city, and this game doesn't have much crime, although some cities may have been full of crime before the actual game's setting.
