Thread: Outcry (sign-up/always open)

The year is 2029, seventeen years after the appearance of a mysterious new species. Nobody really knows how or why they appeared, they just did. The strange new species, being half-human and half-pokemon, were dubbed "Gijinka".

For fifteen of those years, both the Humans and Gijinka co-existed in harmony, until, in 2027, the Division began. The Humans got sick of sharing their space with the Gijinka, and accused them of "taking over the planet". The World Government, a human-run organisation that sets universally applied laws, began introducing methods of population control to keep Gijinka numbers at a manageable level. The Gijinka were understandably furious at this, and demanded that their rights be respected. Tension rose between the two species, until, in 2018, the War began. Despite the Gijinka's inhuman abilities, they were quickly overwhelmed when the Humans unveiled their new super-weapon; the Genetic Restriction Collar, more commonly known as a GRC. A GRC works by nullifying the Human DNA in a gijinka, reducing their physical and mental capacities to that of their half-species; essentially turning them into a pokemon.

Once the Gijinka numbers were too low to pose much of a threat to the Humans, the World Government introduced "Project Fugue"; a simple plan with one aim: to remove every Gijinka, through Nullification or Death, from the face of the planet.

A few pockets of Gijinka resistance sprang up, but they were no match for the muscle of the World Government, and were quickly silenced. Now there are only a small number of Gijinka left in the world, and have been declared an endangered species.

This RP is based on a failed attempt at a FanFic by yours truly, so i decided to make it an RP instead

A few things you need to know before we get started:
-The RP is set in the real world, so no Sinnoh or Unova or places like that.
-Gijinka do not fight using set "moves", they simply manipulate their "element" if you will. For example- A Charizard gijinka can manipulate fire at will, a Raichu electricity, and a Swampert both water and mud/dirt
-Reservations last 48 hours before they expire
-I'm happy for one or two people to Co-GM this RP with me, and I'll be selecting those who i think will do a good job, not on a first-in best-dressed basis
-Since I'll be without internet from Friday the 28th of September until Wednesday the 3rd of October (that's Thursday-Tuesday for those of you in the States), the start-up probably won't be until Wednesday. I apologise for this

Rules

-All BMGF rules apply
-No godmodding. Overpowered characters will NOT be accepted. No exceptions
-No Mary-Sues. Again, they will NOT be accepted
-No bunnying. Ask permission before you do something to something to another's character
-Maximum of two characters per side. That's four characters max (two human and two Gijinka. This may be changed later)
-For Gijinka submissions, I'll only accept one of each pokemon species, to avoid confusion. Umbreon and Jolteon are taken by me. Sorry
-Keep romance to an acceptable level. This is a forum for pokemon, not porn
-Keep swearing to a minimum please. I'll allow the S-word, but nothing worse than that, so definitely no F's or C's, and don't use the S-word every three words
-Respect your fellow RP-ers. Any abuse will NOT be tolerated, and you will be kicked out immediately, no ands ifs or buts
-No deaths please. Being seriously injured in battle? Yes. Dying? No thanks
-Enjoy yourself. You will have fun whether you like it or not. Absolutely no exceptions to this rule

Appearance: He is of average height, at about 5'10", and is relatively thin. He wears a black hoodie with a gold ring on each shoulder, a pair of black denim jeans and yellow sneakers. He has distinct Umbreon ears that poke conspicuously through his messy black hair, and an Umbreon tail that stick through a hole in his jeans. His canine teeth are more prominent than those of a normal human, and he has gold rings on his shoulders

Current Location: Sydney, Australia
Personality: He is generally pretty easy going and relaxed, and enjoys a good time with his mates, but is also very focussed on the task of restoring Gijinka rights and their place in society. He is good friends with many girls, but he is not the romantic type, and has never been involved in a serious relationship. In a dangerous situation, he will remain calm, and sum up the situation before acting.
History: Having never known his parents, he grew up on the streets alone with his brother, taking refuge in the homes of fellow Gijinka or non-hostile humans. He has become very street-wise as a result of his up-bringing.
Fighting style: Only fights for self-defense. He will wait for his opponent to attack, then counter their attack with his own attack, or create a diversion and escape. He likes to analyse his opponent before attacking
Habits/Unique characteristics: Has a habit of fiddling with other peoples ears absent-mindedly. He will sometime fiddle with his own.
Strengths/Talents: He is gifted at analysing a situation or threat, and acting accordingly. He is also somewhat musically talented, although he is modest when asked about it.
Weaknesses/Fears: He fears being stabbed in the back (so to speak) by a fellow Gijinka. The only person he trusts his life with is his brother

Appearance: A little taller than his brother, he stand at about 6'2", and is also pretty thin. He wears a yellow racing jacket with a black stripe down the center, dark jeans, and black sneakers. Like his brother, he has Jolteon ears that poke through his dark hair, and prominent canines.

Sexuality: Heterosexual
Place of origin: Sydney, Australia
Current Location: Sydney, Australia
Personality: Jay is your local joker, prankster and party animal, and loves having a good time. He doesn't take anything seriously, and often has to be pulled back in line by his brother. He is alos known for being a bit of a "player", flirting with a few girls, but never actually lands one. In a fight, he is cocky and confident, and consequently finds himself in hot water quite often.
History: Spent all his life on the street with Felix, the two of them watching each other's backs. Like Felix, he knows how to survive on his own.
Fighting style: Uses his speed and agility to confuse his opponent before attacking them with a strong electric attack, however, his reckless and rash style often gets him in trouble
Habits/Unique characteristics: Can never stay still, and every part of him seems to be moving at once. He earned his nickname from the way he twitches his ears unconsciously.
Strengths/Talents: Jay is very confident, outgoing and very likeable, so he gets along with others easier than the average person.
Weaknesses/Fears: Fears being caught with a GRC. He also has an slight, unexplained fear of cake...

The story will progress with a small group of Gijinka traveling from city to city and country to country, uniting with other Gijinka and expanding their forces, in an attempt to restore their right to freedom. Meanwhile, the Humans will try to find the group and prevent them from joining with other Gijinka. Although they may come close to it, the Humans must not stop the group permanently, or this RP is made redundant. They are allowed to come close to stopping it, and even succeed temporarily, but not permanently.
