Thread: ONE-SHOT RPG: The Flies that Bind

Fred buzzed gleefully as he banged his head repeatedly against the glass of the window above the sink - few joys in his life compared to such an exhilarating experience.

What more could one ask for in the last waning moments of one's life?

Dr. Fruitflypants genuflected.

"You embarrass me," Tuh deadpanned as he looked at Fred bouncing around. "You could at least do something else like bothering someone or something."

"Whats... that... Tuh...?" Fred asked between smacks into the window, before finally buzzing over beside Dr. Fruitflypants and rubbing his wings.

"Pie!" Tuh exclaimed proudly.

"Pie?!" Fred exclaimed, buzzing around excitedly as a woman pulled a warm apple pie out of the oven, setting it on the stove and turning away to search for a knife.

Fred descended immediately on the pie, roasting his six tiny feet on the warm pie crust. "Ah... this is the life."

"Yeah but I would wait until she leaves it alone unless you want your remaining time to be even less," Tuh stated as he looked at the woman.

Fred took flight immediately as the woman waved him away with her hand in exasperation.

"We have to do something about these flies..." she grumbled as she began cutting the pie into pieces.

"I would like to do something to her but I'm too small to care," Tuh grumbled. "Actually I have an idea."

"What's that?" Fred asked, touching down beside Tuh on the counter.

"Let's use that silly glowing lamp they put every night to burn something," Tuh stated mischiviously. "As a parting gift."

"Okay!" Fred replied enthusiastically, "It's getting dark now, it may already be out. Let's go check," he said, buzzing off.

"Wait, I already forgot... where do they put it?"

"Outside," Tuh nodded his head. "I'm not surprised that things burns your brain cells," he said dryly before flying out towards the lamp, but being careful not to get too close. "Alright here's what we'll do. We'll hit the thingy where it hangs until it falls off."

"...Or... we could just nibble away at the string its hanging from," Fred replied in a matter-of-fact tone, landing lightly on the thin strand of twine and setting about doing just that.

"Not exactly what I had in mind for my last meal," he complained between bites, a pained expression on his face.

"Well we could go back to the pie they must've left it by now," Tuh shrugged. "You know you'd think it'd be easier to figure out what you'd want to do before you die."
