Thread: Familiars

Devyon stood silently at the seal waiting for his Familiar to appear. "When will it appear, two people already got theirs" he thought as he drummed his fingers on his staff. He also wondered what type of Familiar he would get, he could have a Knight, or a elemental mage; the possibilities were endless. Devyon sighed as he continued to wait.

The beam of lightaround Artemis's circle blasted brighter as a shadowy figure appeared in the center. The light faded away to reveal a young man with jet black hair, wearing strange armor similar in apearance to the stereotypical wizard's robes. "I've awaited this day for centuries. Serving under a wizard who reached a power, I didn't live to see," he mumbled. He looked down at who was most likely his assigned Mage. "I am Daemon Lycos, mage of the Romulus tribe. I am proud to serve you." he said, kneeling down in front of Artemis.

"It's nice to meet you too," Artemis smiled at Daemon. "I'm Artemis Kreuss from the Kreuss clan and I'm happy that I could be your Mage," she announced before doing a courtesy bow.

"You are more than normal. You've got to be. Otherwise, you wouldn't be a Familiar," Aurum said. "You've got more potential than any others. We're destined to be a great team," Aurum grinned.

"Really you think so," Jason scratched his right cheek before looking away nervously. "Exactly what do we have to do?"

"You and I form a duo, basically. We contrast each other greatly, but we work together to make the perfect combination. We partake in missions, 5 to be exact, before we can graduate the academy and become a part of the Magic Order, where we'll have occasional missions with more difficulty. But for right now, we focus on the first 5 separate missions," Aurum said.

A gentle sigh blew through the air, and Devyon's portal began glowing eratically. Finally, a girl of roughly eighteen appeared, curled in a ball on the ground.
She opened one eye.
"...I was not rescued from the cold, I see."
She murmurs, formally.
She stands up, and takes a wary bow at the young mage before her.
"I trust I am dead?"
She asked, less emotion in her voice than one would expect.

"Yes, unfortunately you have passed. But, you live again as a Familiar. My name is Devyon, my I ask of your name?" said Devyon. Unfortunately, getting a Familiar wasn't as exciting as he thought it would be. It was actually very humbling to have someone who has died appear before you and be confused and realize they are dead. But never the less, Devyon would be sure to make sure that when he was a full mage their would be less unnatural deaths if he had anything to do with it.

"I see," Jason nodded his head warily as he looked around towards the other Familiars. "I feel so different from the others though." he pointed out, noticing that he was the only one remotely normal around.

"I thought so. I am too cold to be alive."
Even as Snow spoke, her breaths gave dragonsmoke.

(OOC: This may be a local term. It's the air from your body that condenses with cooler air..?)

Snow finally turned her attention back to her Mage.
"I realise I am a Familiar, although I feel little different."
She said slowly.
"My name is Snow."

"So when do we get our quest?" Ed asks. "I want to go beat something up. For peace." He adds, nodding.

"Tell me exactly what year this is," said Daemon, as he stood up again. Several clangs were heard as his armor shook around from the movement. "It's quite easy to lose track when the date means nothing to you," he explained.

Snow noticed the other familiars for the first time.
"Year means nothing. There is always evil to be defeated, and the young and weak to be defended."
She reassuringly noticed she still had her bow.

"Well I can definetily tell you that it's been some time," Artemis replied with a quick nod. "What you do need to know is that you're my Familiar now and together we will become the best of the best," she reassured.

"When I died I wasn't much of a mage," Daemon said, a blank expression on his face, "Now that I'm no longer alive, I doubt my magic is up to par." He raised his hand and shot a beam of energy at the ground. As the beam disappeared an earthworm was left in its place. "That was supposed to be a python," he mumbled, shaking his head in disappointment.
