"What's up guys?" he inquired in an awkward attempt at upbeat conversation - an attempt which failed miserably as he immediately spilled a small portion of his hot cocoa onto the sleeve of his blue sweater, wincing as he tried to ignore the clumsy maneuver.

"Am I 'a detail-oriented perfectionist' who's 'too focused on minute details to contemplate and articulate a meaningful big picture?'" he demanded abruptly, hoping against hope that the awkward silence he knew to be inevitable would not follow.
