"A lot." Jackson answered with a smile as the waitress brought his coffee over. "It's a jump from your old place... That I'll tell you."

The bell above the entrance jingled as Kyle strode in, uncomfortably avoiding eye contact as he approached the counter, leaning against it and making awkward small talk with the waitress after ordering a small cup of hot cocoa.

Face buried in his smartphone, with his cold 'working' expression on, Leo made his own way into the Cafe Lounge, looking to buy a quick drink before heading back to his quiet and empty--too quiet and empty, he thought with a hall-exasperated smile on his face--apartment. He needed to finish the article he had managed to get as a freelance writer, especially with rent collection coming up yet again.
Sighing, he muttered to himself, "I really need to find a roommate..."

"I have an apartment, too."
Yuki reminded everyone.
"...Even if I can't get in until about 4.30PM..."
She sighed.

"I wonder why he looks so stressed," Tyler said before pointing at Kyle.
Kaelyn's entrance to the cafe was, for once, rather dull. Not that she ever took it upon herself to make her entrances particularly exciting, but they tended to result in at least a few cups of coffee falling unceremoniously onto people's laps, and a fair few expletives proclaiming her idiocy. It wasn't her fault she was clumsy. Nonetheless today's entrance was, if anything, relatively boring.
Glancing for a moment at the other occupants of the cafe Kaelyn set about ordering herself a coffee of some description, in a half-hearted attempt to wake herself up.

"Everyone seems so happy this morning..."
Yuki mused sarcastically.
She noticed a man smoking on the other side of the window, and actively tried to avoid looking at him.

"Well the day has a pretty depressing atmosphere in itself," Tyler sighed as he looked over at Leo. "What's got you so down?"

Leo raised an eyebrow at the sudden address. Stepping from his place in line--he wasn't feeling quite so thirsty after all--he moved toward the seated group. Utterly deadpan, he answered, "The usual: work and money. I'm not nearly making enough to pay for my apartment."
My interest comes and goes... but I will always return.
Jackson didn't say anything about Tyler's request for the moment being. He wasn't in the market for a roommate at the moment. It wasn't because he didn't have the space, because he did. It was mainly because he didn't need someone to pitch in for the rent. Sure his rent was a lot, especially for someone so young, but he was able to pay it on time every month without issue.

"Tyler Lane," Tyler answered. "Though I was just talking to my friend about letting me live with him," he replied as he turned to look at Jackson once more.
