Thread: The End of Days *Start Up*

The man with the unique jacket filled out the forms quickly, pausing to check his Pokégear for his Pokémon's levels. He then handed them to Willis, before visibly shivering. Releasing his Flareon, he took out a scrap of paper, wrote something down, and handed it to the Pokémon which ran out the door of the tower and to the left, out of sight.

"ULTIMATE PAPERWORK TECHNIQUE!!! FIST OF THE RUBBER STAMP!!! YAAAAAAA!!!" Archie yells at the top of his lungs. He then takes out a rubber stamp and hits the paper with it until it's completely black with ink. He then hands it in to Willis.
"Here you go. I believe everything is in order. You can sell it for a lot, too."

"Wow, this is a lot different then when I was here before," referring to his recent travels to Sinnoh. Zac was walking in his hometown of Goldenrod when he heard someone yelling something about a stamp in the Radio Tower. "Guess I might as well check what it is." He walked in the building.

Willis took the form from the strangely dressed man.
"If you say so, Mister, erm, Archibald. I will, treasure it always." Willis rasped, obviously trying to spare the mans feelings.
Kirk admired that. He had sensed something about the man. Was it kindness? Kirk couldn't tell.
Willis looked over Archie's shoulder at the door, where a young man had just walked in, who he started waving to.
Kirk wouldn't have noticed him if Willis hadn't pointed him out. He was quite young, looking about ten years younger than Kirk was, but could be taken to be older because of his beardy look.
Willis called to the boy in his rasping voice.
"Welcome, welcome! Are you here for the meeting? No, you're not too late. Just sign on these forms and we can be on our way." he rasped, like we were hearing half a conversation, not letting the boy answer.
Willis suddenly jumped up on the top of the counter with surprising athletic ability and leapt off. Someone gasped. He landed in front of the boy with a pen in one hand and a form in the other.
Kirk suddenly realised. He had noticed something about Willis. He was a complete nutjob.
And he'd just signed his life over to him.
Crap.

"Okay, I guess." Zac cautiously took the paper and signed it, "I'm bored and got nothing to do. So what are we doing?"

Wayne witnessed the man's jump. What the heck did I just get myself into... Maybe the world would be better without Johto... I don't like this job anymore... Is it too late to quit. Probably... You signed the paper Wayne, it is your problem now... You got us into this "Thanks for the encouragement Alakazam... Way to boost confidence." Wayne replied sarcastically...

(From now on when Alakazam say something to me telepathically, it will be bolded italics. When he is talking out loud, it will be bold alone)

Clarke, who was now hesitant to sign the form, noticed the jump and was now curious about the man he'd have to watch him.

He gave him the form. "So what's next?"

Archie claps at Willis' acrobatic feat, then leans against the wall in a way similar to that of someone attempting to look cool, but just looks tired.

(OOC: That's fine, Jagz. ^^)

"Simple, really." Willis told Clarke, walking back to the counter and getting behind it, "we put all of the forms in this hat."
At that moment, he produced a black top hat with a red band around it from underneath the counter.
"Then, I get my Slowking to produce two forms." he rasped to Clarke, clipping a Pokéball from his belt. He clicked the button on the front of the Pokéball and a red beam shot out from the front, and a proud looking Slowking appeared in the centre of the room. It opened it's eyes and gazed in front of it absent-mindedly.
"And then, the two people who are drawn from the hat..." he wheezed, pausing for a second to add atmosphere.
"... they battle each other." he croaked.

The man sighed. Not being to fond of battling, that was expected, but if it saved his home region of Kanto, he may as well be ready to battle away. He just wished he hadn't sent Flareon off on that errand.

"Will this be 3-on-3 or 6-on-6?" he inquired.

Willis looked over at the young man in the jacket.
"To save time, and due to the fact one young man only has two Pokémon, it has been requested that it is to be a double battle, using only two Pokémon." he wheezed back at him.

"Hmm," was the only reply, before the man pulled out 4 Pokéballs. Looking between them and Pikachu, he picked out 2 Pokéballs and put the other two back. He turned to the Electric Mouse Pokémon and said "Sorry, Pikachu, you're sitting this one out. Why not go see Flareon, he'll probably enjoy your company."

The Pikachu blushed slightly, before leaving the area, turning to the left and leaving sight like the Flareon. The man then turned his attention back to the old man for anymore announcements.

(OOC: I will be using a random number generator to decide matchups. Just so you know.)

Willis put all of the forms into a hat.
"Okay," he rasped, "these battles are to find out if you are indeed capable of the mission that you are about to undertake. Anyone who is not deemed capable will end up not going on this mission. We cannot have anyone jeopardising the mission with incompetence and skill deficiency. The standard double battle rules apply in these battles. I do not expect any more questions."
Kirk was surprised. He understood how Willis was so energetic and happy, due to the fact that he was the CEO of a hip radio broadcast. It was unusual to see the man being so solemn, even when they had only been in his presence for ten minutes.
He paused to shuffles the papers around inside the hat. Willis looked towards Slowking and nodded. Slowking nodded back.
Suddenly, Slowking threw it's arms up into the air and it's eyes glowed a brilliant electric blue. Two papers flew out of the hat and tore through the air, spiralling in every direction, narrowly missing everyone. They kept flying closer to Slowking, when they were just circling around it's body. Then, Slowking, threw it's arms forward and the papers shot towards Willis.
The two pieces of paper floated in front of Willis' face. He read them quickly, then opened his mouth and wheezed.
"The first matchup will be;..."

"A.D versus Clarke Robinson."

The man with the unique jacket stepped forward. He held the Pokéball and Great Ball in his right hand, with his left in his jacket pocket.
"May I ask where we are to battle, since I doubt a Radio Tower lobby is a suitable area," A.D inquired, wondering if they had convinced Whitney to allow her gym to be used, what with being a Normal-type Gym so there was no added quirks like Bugsy's damned bug trees or Sabrina's warp pads that utilized Psychic energy.

"We shall be using Whitney's Gym which she has been kind enough to lend us. However, we have also recieved help from other Gym Leaders to make the battles more... fun." Willis croaked.
"The Gym Leaders in question are Morty of Ecruteak City and Claire of Blackthorn City. We have also recieved additional help from Goldenrod's own Bill." Willis continued.
