Thread: Bounty Hunters

So here's Flame Haze with another non Pokemon RPG, this one's closer to my roots a little bit and is more action like.

In a different world where People live alongside mythical creatures and the like there's a special ability that humans have adapted with. Three actually, this abilities are classified as Life Energy, Magic, and PSY the human body is able to learn one of these three abilities as long as its training starts from a young age.

Life Energy consists on strengthening the body's ability like strength, speed, endurance and the like while also allowing the person to absorb and control the energy around them. Magic works like it says, the user is able to learn to control a special kind of energy that's hidden in the human body, magic is the hardest of the three but once it's mastered the person can use magic for almost anything aside from forbidden spells.

PSY is the third one, unlike Life Energy it doesn't borrow energy from the outside and it doesn't help the body but relies instead on the mind PSY is the ability to use a person's psychic ability, increasing their mental capability to allow them to control it, PSY is a more varied type but unlike the other two where a person can learn various techniques with PSY you can only use one and its variations like telekinesis and telepathy being variations of each other.

Now back to the actual world. Besides human mythical creatures also exist in this world, living alongside animals since most creatures are animal like and human ones are pretty much extinct. Life goes on normally though aside from a group of people. Humans that are trained in either of the basic three elements tend to join up and create their own groups, these groups are known as Bounty Hunters, who go through different missions and getting rewards from the people that hire them, Bounty Hunters can do all kinds of missions even hunt for other hunters.

This is what the RP is about, your character is a person living in Wayward City and he/she has been trained in one of the three basic elements and decides to join a group of Bounty Hunters. The RP will consist mostly of the missions that the group goes through.

The Rules

No Tennising

No Flaming

No Godmodding like making your character really strong or having him use a lot of powerful spells or psychic abilities, keep it balanced.

For Violence, I'm gonna be honest, this is action and there's going to be violence and blood but try not to overdo it and keep it low.

Romance I'll allow but just first base.

Wayward City has a blend of all kinds of different cultures from american, italian, japanese, and other kinds.

I don't wanna sound cliche nor do I wanna name it by something that's been done before but we'll call the groups Bounty Hunters gather in Guilds.

Users of Life Energy usually use fighting styles you can make up your own as long as its cool, and doesn't border godmodding.

Name: Klay Ryuma
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Skill: Life Energy Klay is able to use the Four Beast Style a technique that allows him to control four elements by gathering energy in his body, he's only able to use two attacks each day though which is why he also uses swords.

Appearance: Klay has long spiky black colored hair, his hair is usually ruffled up so that it sticks out from the side of his head. He has a pair of red colored eyes but wears a pair of contacts over them that turn them black. He normally wears a white colored jacket with the neck raised and two buttons buttoned up, he doesn't wear anything under it though, showing the sixth pack that comes from all the years of training and fighting. At school he usually wears the uniform which consists of a black colored jacket with buttons and black pants to match, under the jacket he usually wears a white shirt.

Personality: Klay has a very innocent and cheerful personality towards most people, he tends to not mind personal space or his own business for that matter. He cares a lot about his friends, usually butting in on them when they least want to but he also protects them whenever their in danger or he feels he has to help them out. In battle he can be quiet ruthless and calculative and usually keeps a kind demeanor that contrasts his daily life self.

History: Since he was really little Klay had always been training in the art of Life Energy, he doesn't know his parents and was instead raised by a man that he only ever knew as Sky, Sky and Klay traveled throughout the world to strenghten themselves and he was the man that trained Klay in the Four Beast style an original style created by Sky himself which allowed him to use the energy around him to use a technique based around one of the four main elements.

Klay was also trained in swordplay giving him two ranges to fight in. When he was fifteen Sky was killed during a rock slide, leaving Klay on his own, after doing some thinking Klay decided to go to Wayward an enrolled in Wayward Academy with a second goal in mind, which was to find people strong enough that he could create a Bounty Hunter Guild with.

Other: Klay has a birth mark on his hand that resembles an opened claw with an eye in the middle, the mark is marked by red lines which seemed to have been burned on his hand. He also carries a pair of black colored swords with silver lining in the middle of the blade strapped on his back.

Name: Jakku Ebansu
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Skill: Life Energy, just. Jakku's powers fizzle in and out, and can desert him at tense moments if he loses concentration.
Appearance: Shoulder length brown hair, with green eyes. He wears a bandana around his neck, (the bandana of many uses). He generally wears skinny clothing that keeps tight to his thin and gangly physique, to avoid stray clothing snagging on anything during a mission. He usually wears skinny jeans, and a T-shirt. If he is not going for stealth, he wears a heavy trenchcoat, full to the brim of weaponry. Needless to say, this slows him down, but makes him a lot more dangerous. He carries a satchel, with a few medical supplies, suited to his sparse medical knowledge, and extra weaponry, and other items needed for the mission at hand.
Personality: Jakku, outside of battle, is sarcastic, and a tad immature. During battle, he gets very tense, and speaks a lot less. Some view this as a good thing.
History: Jakku has a history of violence, sober or not. Due to this, some people choose not to hire him. He views all fighting as training however, from drunken brawls to assassinations. He trained day in day out until he was strong enough to be a Bounty Hunter, only to find out that his true Life Energy only came in sparks. Jakku generally has to make do with ordinary human reflexes and strength for most of the time in missions, and only at certain points does his Life Energy power up, and sparks begin to fly.

Other: Jakku's favourite food is ramen. His apartment is always full of it, along with random junk he finds. Jakku tends to use a katana as his default weapon.

Name: Evan Nates

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Skill: Magic: He learned his spells from video games, and thus, they have strict rules on what each one has. He can also only learn nine in his entire life. It usually takes him a week or so to learn a spell:

-Level i Flare: Shoots out a hoop of fire, about four feet in circumference. It always rolls forward in a straight line at a moderately quick rate, and can go up wall and ceilings. It will burn, but never ignite surfaces it travels on. It can travel on water, in which case it hovers directly above it, but if any more than about 1/4 a cup of water is actually splashed on it, it will dissipate. It otherwise exists for about six seconds, in which time it can travel about 30 yards.
-Shocking Grasp: Evan's body becomes charged with electrical energy, allowing him to deliver an electric shock to anything he touches while it's active. This current causes mild burns, but more importantly, stuns anything that touches him for a few seconds. It's still electrical, though, and thus can't travel along rubber or ground, and will affect anyone, friend or foe alike, who is on a metal or wet surface when Evan uses it.
-Chione's Spear: Evan produces a spear of ice from mid-air. It's stronger than normal ice, with the durability and sharpness of steel. It won't melt at normal temperatures either, unless Evan lets go of it, in which case it will immediately turn into normal water.

Personality: Evan is very irritable, due to staying up all night playing video games. He finds people who bother him while he's working particularly grating, though being a stoic, he limits showing it to the occasional sarcastic remark. However, he's also fairly intelligent, and is knowledgeable in many fields. He's somewhat amoral as well, usually only caring about a select group of friends and family. Despite this, he can be nice, he just doesn't like to show it, worried it will make him seem weak.

Appearance: His appearance reflects his devotion to his work quite well: He's willing to sacrifice it for his magic. Ha hasn't cut his white-blonde hair in over a year, and thus it goes down past his shoulders. He usually wears a white button shirt, a black tie, and black slacks. He never wears shoes if he can help it, and when he can't, he usually wears sandals. He's fairly average as far as height goes at about 6 feet tall, and has a fairly slender build. Due to Albie letting him stay up late, which wrecked his sleep schedule, in addition to his addiction to video games, he also has dark rings beneath his eyes.

History: Evan was born to a teenage boy, who put him up for adoption. He was a cute baby, so he was soon adopted by a pair of astronauts named Eliot and Ben. When they left on space missions, they left him with their butler, Albie, who they brought back from one of their trips to the moon. Albie was really lazy when Ben and Eliot weren't around, and let Evan eat junk food all the time, but he was otherwise a nice guy, and taught Evan how to turn into an animal and paint. They had a huge library full of books, most of them dry comedies, which made Evan very sarcastic. Albie was evil, so combined with his parents being good, this is what mad him not exactly heroic, but also only slightly evil. One day, a terrorist who was working with the communists and trying to stop the American space program broke into his house and killed Albie when Evan ran. Evan got revenge by blowing up the guy's house with him in it. But little did he know, the terrorist was not only a communist, but a wizard. After blowing up the house, in the wreckage, he found a magic GBA cartridge. He started playing it, and found it was a ton of fun. Once he beat the end boss, it even gave him magical powers. He then swore to learn to master his powers, learn everything he could, and stop anyone's butler from being killed by a video game wizard again. That, and he really liked being able to shoot rings of fire.

Other: Since his spells all have strict rules and principals they follow, I'll probably post a list of them in the first IC post and update it as Evan gets more.

Name: Klaus Negri
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Skill: PSY. For him, this takes the form of telekinesis, as well as levitation, which he accomplishes by using telekinesis on himself.

Appearance: Klaus doesn't really care about his appearances, and that's made quite obvious if you get a good look at him. Wild black hair that sticks out in various spots, hollow gray eyes, and pale skin that would make one wonder if he spent any time in the sun. His attire is rather unkempt as well, consisting of a dark red jacket, and what would normally be a black T-shirt, but it now has multiple shades of brown. He also has dark blue jeans, normally dotted with stains of various kinds, as well as black tennishoes. He almost always dons black fingerless gloves with a dark red trim, as well as a black backpack with countless pockets and straps that stores all of his...supplies.

Personality: Klaus isn't exactly the kind of person you'd want to be around. Arrogant, bad-tempered, and downright nasty at times, Klaus is the kind of person who does what he wants to do, regardless of what happens. He's absolutely obsessed with using his abilities for combat purposes, and will do whatever it takes to win. Even if that means resorting to...less than ideal approaches. He's also a tad bit of a sore loser, and he never forgets a defeat. If you manage to best him in combat, you'd better prepare yourself for rematch after rematch. Repeated losses infuriate him further, and can make his reactions go from irritation to crazed outrage.

History: Klaus has always had an unhealthy obsession with battling, even before he discovered his PSY powers. From knife fights to fisticuffs to pistol shoot-outs, this guy's done it all, and then some. Unfortunately, this has carried over to his day-to-day life, where he gets into brawls more often than people would like. Just about everyone disapproves of his blood knight-like behavior, but he just doesn't care. When he discovered his powers, it just made things worse, making him even more of a potential menace.

Other: His full weapons list is as follows: A knife, a pistol, some smoke bombs, a machete-type weapon in his backpack, as well as another knife stored in the inside of his jacket, another pistol in his jean pocket, and another knife in his other jean pocket. Yeah, this guy is crazy prepared. With emphasis on crazy.

Appearance:
(Physical) Mocha-colored skin; deep and dark blue eyes; stern face; black flowing hair with dye-blonde locks; full lips; heart-shaped face; slightly pointed ears; low C-Cup; muscle-development going on in her body.
(Clothing) Loose gray pants; simple navy blue long-sleeved shirt; red oval glasses; yellow vest; green tape on the elbows and knees; purple bandanna on her forehead; black belt with a silver brain for a belt buckle cover.

Personality: Calm that belies hidden zeal; Level-headed yet excitable; Noble-hearted; Aggressive and brutal when pushed hard enough; Unyielding in beliefs; Willing-to-die loyal to comrades; Can be playful and teasing.

History: Tia was born into a family of psychics who have gone through extensive training to hone her skills and to make sure her powers don't go haywire and unintentionally kill people and animals, like some untrained psychics have done in the past.

Her family have made a rule to fight not for glory or the fight itself, but for others who can't, so Tia usually follows this to a T. Usually. That rule started to get warped when a cousin was hospitalized after a rather nasty psychic duel with another PSI-user, followed by her younger sister and her mom's older sister. Convinced someone is deliberately targeting her family, she has steeled her choice of exacting vengence to her fallen family members, who are currently still mentally recovering from their scars.

Other: Tia's current PSI-powers are -

*PSI-Melee: Tia's melee attacks are enhanced with mental projections of her hands, legs, and even a head for headbutts.

*PSI-Grenado: Tia's divebomb melee/short-range attack, which is gathering as much mental power in her hands and release it in a shockwave blast once in contact with the ground or a target.

*PSI-Trampoline: Tia creates a mental platform that she can use to jump higher than normal.

*PSI-Burst: Using anger to mix in with mental power, Tia can unleash a power burst of mental energy. However, she's still working to perfect it, as she can use it sometimes easily and not so easily other times, usually in inconvient times. It also has a heck of a kick-back, sometimes giving Tia a wanging headache as well as being knocked onto her bum.

*Mental Static: She grabs a person's head and begins sending brain waves directly to the brain to mess up a person's ability to think. It can range from being little more than an annoyance to mind-breaking painful.

Despite how powerful this can be, she has to have a hand on the head for this technique to work. Has the potential in screwing up the nerves if she grabs anywhere else, but that percentage is low and the effects are temporary and are relatively mild, not to mention some psychics have train themselves to withstand this psionic version of intense torture.

*Telekinesis: Currently, she can lift some light items with ease, but big things like living room-sized chairs are still a work in progress.

*Telepathy: She can use this to dig into the minds of normal people. Currently, she can't use this on other psychics unless they are really distracted or are willing to do it, or people with great willpower.

*Pyrokinesis: At her level, all she can do is summon a fire as big as a match's flame.

Name: Grey Dawn
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Skill: Life Energy. Grey can sap energy from the living things around him (say a tree or a human) and harness it into his own bones, making his normal athletic skills enchanced and powerful. He can also be enabled to send jolts of this harnessed energy into other people through his hands, shocking and disabling them. Grey becomes tired and sometimes faints when he overuses these skills and has trouble thinking about the death he causes when sapping energy.

Appearance: He is tall and rather slim. He wears a thin white hoodie and a golden chain around his neck. He has his hood up usually so most of his face is concealed, however his hair is usually untidy and scruffy like a mop. Grey has a scar across the side of his cheek bone and his eyes are dark brown.

Personality: Grey doesn't like to involve himself in much and sees a task as a simple obsticle. He doesn't care much about the money he recieves, just the kill. He likes to see every task he is set completed and wants people to fear his powers. Other than that Grey is up for a laugh and likes to get himself in trouble at school.

History: Grey was trained by his father when he was young, but when he accidently shot his father with an overdose of energy, his father left. Grey was forced to look after his mother and simply train himself, not for his own acknowledgement but his father's. He grew up in the poorer parts of Wayward city, usually spending time with the neighborhood gangs and graffiting on the walls of shops and stalls. Doing this, made him some enemies and some friends, but neither he really desired. Although, he would love to goriely disembowel them. He now sets his sights as a Bounty Hunter, going to the academy and attending lessons, without much resignition of course.
