I would just like to point out that you said we can join three alignments, not that we have to. It's misleading.

I think that if you're not in an alignment, you have to put the neutral one (Emerald, Platinum, Gray).

Marche is right. If you don't want to be invovled, pick Emerald for that alignment. You have to have all three listed.

Being neutrally aligned is still an alignment. I don't want to be involved in the plotlines of three Clans. Have a good game.
