Thread: Pokemon: Darkside (start up)

'There are no contests in Kanto' Jason angrily thought to himself.

He just kept taking deep breathes and turn up the volume on Disturbed. For someone who had to keep from getting really angry metal may seem like an odd comfort, but it always kept the right tone for Jason. These were dark times, and Jason didn't want to forget that.

"There are no contests in Kanto, dumbass." Tana replied, "I....I'm looking for my father."

And Jason thought he was the weirdo out here. He turned off his radio so he could hear, but didn't make it obvious and left his earbuds in. Why was this girl looking for her father? Why as a trainer. Couldn't she just go to the hospital and pick up her birth records. Something obviously made her feel this was the only way. Something off the route caught Jason's eye so he and Jercio split off and went into the brush. Jason crawled around in the bush trying to pick out what he had seen.

"I....I'm looking for my father."
Jake was going to ask why, but realized that it was a sensitive topic. "As for me, I'm doing gym battles."

Eliot was a little hurt when Elphie called him dumbass, but immediately saw why she had. He had clearly touched on a sensitive topic. She didn't seem the type that would want pity. But Eliot still wanted to comfort her. He turned to her, and lowered his sunglasses, revealing a pair of green eyes. He looked her in the eye and nodded, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"I think you can do it." Eliot said. He turned to Jake.

"Just because you're with me, I will not go easy on you." Eliot said. He looked back towards Pallet, his mother's home town.

"I need to go see my mom before we go. You guys go on, I'll catch up." Eliot said, walking off down a side path.

Tana stiffened. She really didn't like strangers touching her. "Thanks, but hands off," She called after Eliot as Cynders sniffed-around.

"I found one" Jason shouted leaping out of the bushes along with Jercio.

Jercio had in his claws a Venipede struggling to break free. Jercio pinned the venipede before all the other trainers.

"I wasn't gonna fight him in the bushes and set the route on fire." Jason explained.

Tana laughed, not unkindly, but genuinely amused. "Well, then. I guess that makes sense." Cynders climbed onto her shoulder.

"Oh and Jercio knock him out now"

The charmander used ember point blank ont eh back of the venipede's head. the pokemon lept away and ran in circles for a solid five minutes before begining to slow down.

"...well least I know he can run fast." Jason said having watched the pokemon the entire time before throwing a pokeball.

Jake was fairly shocked at Eliot's reply. "Likewise." he mumbled, watching him as he walked back to Pallet Town.

The capsule device easily captured the exhauted venipede. Jason would have seen it as an unfair catch if he didn't expect to have such an easy time catching the pokemon anyway.

Jason considered Eliot leaving a good thing, and was happy to leave the guy behind. After all the group had left one other kid back there. Considering how Eliot had invited everyone to join the group those two would probably need to pair up to travel.

"Why don't we go ahead on Route 1?" Jake asked Tana. "After all, he said he would catch up."

Tana shrugged. "Fine with me." She kept walking.

Jason put his earbuds back in, and began walking too. With two pokemon on his belt he felt things were liable to go well. Viridian city wasn't too far away, so Jason was rather anxious to get there.

Tana was flopped across a couch in the Viridian Pokemon-Center, petting Cynders, who was on her lap, and flipping through an old magazine as she waited for the boys to get done.
