Thread: LoD 4: Camp Pheonix ((Late Teens to Mature))

"You know what I mean, Jericho. I-I........I thought I lost you."

"What do you think was going through my mind?" I asked trying to remind her that we were int his together.

"Well, I don't know. You were......not alive. I figured there weren't any thoughts going through your mind."

"Ellie you couldn't be more wrong. When we die our spirits leave our bodies, but our spirits are everything that isnt flesh so our thoughts and emotions come with it. For Demigods if you die in battle you retain these forever or until you want to forget. For me my spirit is incapable of forgetting. When I die for good hero or not, I will have those thoughts with me for an eternity. Thoughts of how I screwed up thinking I was going in to save you. Thinking I just damned you."

Automatically, I reached-out and cupped his cheek in my hand. "Oh, Jer. I'm so sorry."

"Next time... that is if Hades doesn't kill us before we fight again can we promise to both make sure we know where the other will be, ya know just in case."

"Yeah." I glanced-up. There the waitress was, walking towards us. "Hey, look. Food."

The cafe had you pay right as you got your food so I handed over the rest of my mortal money before tearing through my breakfast.

I couldn't help laughing. "If I didn't know better, I'd swear you've never eaten before." I commented, slowly starting my pancake. With my mother, I had two options: Scarf what food she gave me as fast as possible (she didn't like seeing me or my brothers "waste her food"), or don't eat at-all.

Eating slowly was a luxury to me, one most people didn't seem to recognize.

At this point I heard a cell phone go off in the distance. They were beacons for monsters if a demigod used one. Why or how? I have no idea, but they still freaked me out when I heard them. I honestly almost sent my plate flying when I turned around to try and see who was using it.

I, for my part, nearly fell out of my seat. "Son of a bitch!"

"What? What'd I do this time!?"

I started laughing. "Oh my gods, I love you." I blurted before my mouth could consult my brain.

Awkward stares from all around. Well except from me. I was staring, but not as awkwardly. More of a reminiscing look of nostalgia.
