Thread: Bounty Hunters Part II: The New Era

Jakku yawned again.
He scratched one eye, and took a drink from his hipflask.

Shimo stroked Dracky affectionately.
If you newmeats hurt him, there will be hell to pay.
She said factually.

"Yeah don't hurt Dracky." Sakura shook her head. "If he even whines Shimo will drop in and the difficulty of the challenge will increase."

Klay turned to look at Jack. "Since you're new as well you're entitled to pick who you fight against."

Jack looked around at the veteran members of the slayers. He knew that his choice could make the challenge either very difficult or very easy. He didn't want to fight another PSI user because he wouldn't be able to rely solely on psychic manipulations. Eventually he had his choice. "I might as well make this fun." He announced before gesturing slightly to Klay. "My choice." He said, referring to the co-leader.

Serah raised an eyebrow, casting a glance to Klay. This would definitely be worth watching.

Sakura looked at Klay, as if waiting for a sign of confirmation. Klay grinned and looked at Jack, his left hand staying in his pockets before he nodded his head. "Okay then if you're really willing to do this." he smirked confidently. "I guess I can if you really want to test it out."

"This should be interesting."
Jakku commented.

Shimo nodded, hands in pockets.
She didn't seem to be paying that much attention.

"Like I said, no reason to start slow." Jack was still smiling. "Might as well jump right in."

OOC: Maybe I should wake up earlier...

Evan scratched himself and got out of bed. He had been sleeping on the ceiling. It was surprisingly comfortable.
"Good morning Klay, Tye, Sakura, Serah. What's with all the people?" He asked Klay, yawning. Just then, a young man in a cowboy hat entered.

"...Am I interrupting anything?" Eric asked. "I came to apply for a job."

-Level i Flare: Shoots out a hoop of fire, about four feet in circumference. It always rolls forward in a straight line at a fairly quick rate, and can go up wall and ceilings. It can travel on water, in which case it hovers directly above it, but if any more than about 1/4 a cup of water is actually splashed on it, it will dissipate. It otherwise exists for about six seconds, in which time it can travel about 30 yards.
He can also use this power to form fiery claws around his hands.

-Shocking Grasp: Evan's body becomes charged with electrical energy, allowing him to deliver an electric shock to anything he touches while it's active. This current causes mild burns, but more importantly, stuns anything that touches him for a few seconds. It's still electrical, though, and thus can't travel along rubber or ground, and will affect anyone, friend or foe alike, who is on a metal or wet surface when Evan uses it.
He can also use this power to shoot lightning.

-Chione's Spear: Evan produces a spear of ice from mid-air. It's stronger than normal ice, with the durability and sharpness of steel. It won't melt at normal temperatures either, unless Evan lets go of it, in which case it will.
He can also make walls of ice with this power. He can easily tip them over.

-Mass Effect: Evan can alter the weight of himself or objects he touches. He can decrease the weight of an object by up to either 100 pounds, or half of their weight. He can also increase the weight for that long. This effect lasts as long as Evan is touching the object, or 10 seconds after.
He can also use this power to levitate.

-Explosive Rune: Evan can sketch a sigil on objects, shaped like a stylized skull. When a specific condition Evan has decided on is met, he can explode it. The mark can be made with anything used as ink, though if it is rubbed off, it won't work, though Evan can set them to explode if the mark is disrupted.
He can now also set the runes to reflect ranged attacks, making a sort of "barrier" above them. These ones are shaped like squares.

-Time Stop: Evan can stop time. Sort of. It only works on inanimate objects, and life force disrupts the effect, so humans and living things, or objects they are directly touching, are not affected. He must say "Time be still" and stand still himself for this spell to work.
He can also use this power to teleport long distances. However, he must be able to navigate to the place he's teleporting. He could, for example, teleport to Wayward City, because he knows where it is and how to get there. He can't teleport to somewhere he doesn't know the location of.

-Restore: Evan heals his body. He often combines this with PSI. Small cuts heal in seconds, larger ones take about a minute. If a limb was severed, he can simply place the severed member to the stump to fasten it back on instantly. Otherwise, it will grow back within a day or so. This spell, combined with his PSI, makes it so he feels very little pain as well.
He is also immune to most poisons and diseases due to this, natural or supernatural.

-Ultima Weapon: Summons chainsaws for Evan to use. They are magically linked to him, so he can cast spells from them as if they were a part of his body. He can make them explode as well.
He can also make chains now, which he can control like tentacles.

Serah only sighed at Evan. "New recruits, Evan."

"Oh, right. I'm the other leader. The one who's not Klay. Evan." Evan said, cracking his neck, a spark coming out of it as he does so. "Who'm I testing?" He asked Klay. He turned to the recruits. "Excuse me for being a tad late. You could say not all of me is here these days."

"So I'm facing this little cutie. Should I be using arrows tipped with foam balls or shall I be relying only on my PSI powers?" questioned Brine. "And if you don't mind, I'd like to fight Dracky first. Better to face an opponent who isn't warmed up, I guess," Brine stated, already putting foam balls on the tips of his arrows.

"You can use whatever you like." Sakura pointed out before looking at Evan. "Evan you really have to get up earlier." she then looked at the other new recruit that had just walked in. "And you are."

"I guess that's true." Klay nodded his head in agreement while looking at Jack. He then turned to Evan. "And I thought I slept late."

"I'm Eric Navarro." Eric said, mistaking Sakura's statement for a question. "Defender of love and peace, sworn enemy of Black Shadow!"

"I can't help it. I'm not all here these days." Evan said.

Stephanie sat in a cab heading towards Wayward City, to the place where she would meet new beginnings, and hopefully avoid her ex girlfriend. She had a mixture of emotions inside her, one excited to see what may happen in this guild and how her powers could be of a use, another was a little fear of seeing her ex girlfriend, the last time she knew resided in Wayward City.

It wasn't that Kate, the ex was a horrible woman, it was the fact Stephanie left her to try and save Kate from a fate worse then death, and the only way was to stay away. Now if she encountered her she couldn't promise her temptation wouldn't led her to Kate, she still held a torch for Kate and she knew she did as well.

Once arriving she headed to the guild where she saw it, a dragon. "Well. I will be damned" Stephanie whispered mesmerized by the dragon, she always wanted to find one but her parents told her they didn't exist, which she didn't understand why they would tell her that. Perhaps that was to stop her teenager self from finding one and getting into trouble, maybe that's what she was supposed to see on her 18th, a Dragon. "Hi.. I am here as a new recruit" Stephanie said to anyone, her eyes still on the dragon wishing she could ride it now, but she doubted the members here would appreciate that.

Dracky looked down at Stephanie, cocking hsi head to the side in curiosity and innocence.

"Hi." Sakura pointed out while looking at Stephanie. "You must be Stephanie right, I'm Sakura and I like to welcome you to the Slayers." she pointed out, noticing that she seemed to be amazed by Dracky. "You could take the first test, trying to subdue Dracky, that's his name by the way." she then turned to Eric. "You are to take the second test so you can pick one of the already member of the Slayers to fight against."
