Thread: Bounty Hunters Part II: The New Era

OOC: I never said Klay was fighting Jack xD it doesn't seem like anyone's facing him anyway.

As the lightning approached her it was blocked, the lightning bouncing off and in turn crashing with the lava pool below them. Leon stood in front of Ashley, his left hand behind his back as his daughter coughed up blood and sat up. "I'm not done yet father...uggh...I can still fight."

"Don't be foolish." Leon stated simply and lowered his right hand before bringing out his left one. "I told you that I wasn't going to let you do anything reckless, what kind of father would I be if I let my daughter get killed." He took one step forward as a large red aura began to surround his body. Lovo stepped back; his teeth gritting.

"Listen Jeremy, this guy is no pushover he's name Leon and he's the strongest fire user alive so don't do anything stupid okay." he stated while looking back at Jeremy, unknowingly to even him he had stepped up in front of the kid as if to protect him.

Leon moved his hand back as a seal appeared on the palm of it before thrusting and hitting the air with a palm strike, firing a large tornado of flames.

Minerva just scoffed as she crossed her arms. "I wonder what made you change like that."

Klay glared at Aqua, his fist clenching as he jumped from the water and slashed at her with his blade. She fluedly dodged, using her index and middle finger to stop Klay's blade before sending him flying back against another platform. "You people really are despicable." Klay groaned and stood up from the ground slowly. How can you use a little girl like that!" He yelled.

'Klay!" Sakura yelled, causing Klay to raise his head and turn to look at her. "You have someone else waiting for you remember?" she stated simply while taking her glasses off. "While I want to take care of Fria I'll have to make a quick stop here." She stated as she walked next to Shimo. "You guys keep going and we'll catch up."

"So what I miss?' Klay turned to look at the entrance, noticing that Schwarz was walking in while yawning. "Three minutes huh? meh I guess one more minute isn't too bad."

Klay's eyes shifted towards Sakura once more before he stood up and began jumping from platform to platform towards the elevator. "Let's get going guys!" he yelled back to the others.

Once the group made it to the fifth floor they entered a large room, the room seemed to be kind of like a maze with multiple walls standing all around as well as large blocks of iron that stuck from the roof. The room seemed to be the widest by far and there were some fans in the corner. "Finally got here I see." Klay raised his head, a glare forming in his eyes as he turned to look at one of the walls, Skye was sitting there, his legs crossed and a grin plastered on his face. "Long time no see Klay." he snickered before jumping down and lowering himself with wind. "Now I can finally get you back."

Shimo leapt into the air, drawing her sword.

Jakku walked into Demeter's room quietly.
The roots were burnt and blackened, and little sign of life remained.
He kept walking, blasting through the elevator and flying straight up.

Grey looked up at Skye.
"You really have a way with people, oh great guildmaster..."

Jack was about to answer Minerva but then he noticed an opening. He closed his eyes and projected an image of himself into Sakura's mind. "There's something I need to tell you Sakura, so Im going to come right out and say it. That day with Klay's mother. I did what I did to save you from a certain death. I'm telling you this because... I... I came here because I knew he would kill you all if I did not. And I couldn't see you hurt Sakura... Because... Because I love you." Jack finally managed to say it. "I'm sorry it had to be like this, but I didn't see any other way."

Mizu created a sword of water and collided with Shimo's sword, she greeting her teeth as he sent a barrage of bubbles flying towards the girl. Sakura meanwhile was receiving Jack's messages, she jumping a bit at the sudden intrusion and what he was saying however, his confession was drown out by interference so she wasn't able to hear that part. "I'm kind of busy but I can see what you mean." She turned to look at Aqua. "We'll talk later though."

'He's an old friend of mine." Klay said as he looked up at Skye who took a step towards the group, as he did this the pressure in the room began to increase as the wind that whistled around the room got stronger. "Guys, you keep going." Klay stated while assuming a fighting stand. "I have to fight Skye no matter what happens."


"All right then everyone let's go then!" Schwarz clapped his hands together and began running towards the elevator. "Next room is Thunder."

Jack left Sakura's mind with an annoyed expression on his face. "Of all the times." He muttered under his breath, sitting back down at his desk. He took a bottle of scotch and a rocks glass out of the drawer and quickly made himself a drink. "I'm gonna need this." He muttered to himself.

"Should you really drink when we're in this situation?" Minerva asked in curiosity.

"Just one to take off the edge while I wait." Jack explained with a frown. "Since she didn't hear me since she was distracted and all..." He trailed off. "But I digress."

"I didn't think you were the whiny kind of guy." Minerva laughed.

The remaining group was now standing inside another room, the room itself seemed to be a little different with there being stairs made out of cubes that stuck out from the wall. The cubes formed a spiral and started leading upwards towards the next floor. "Seems like this one's gonna be a little different though we are halfway through," Schwarz pointed out. "Brine, you've been quiet."

"Hm?" Brine turned to Schwarz, having been dragged out of his thoughts by the intrusion. "I've been thinking... about all this..." said Brine waving his hand in a circle to indicate the situation. "Flexing my Psy and what not." Brine's eyes lightened a bit. "So uh, who's in this room?"

Jeremy slapped his hands together and a wave of wind formed in front of him and Lovo, stopping the flames from reaching them and propelling it back.

OOC: Looks like necromancy is on the rise, cause I too am back from the dead

Suddenly, in a near-blinding flash of light, a bright red portal appeared in front of the group. After seemingly remaining for a few seconds, it vanished just as quickly as it had appeared in a haze of red mist. However, as the mist cleared, one could make out the outline of a person.

The mist quickly cleared to reveal a pale, semi-thin and white-haired boy in a bloodred jacket, whom was sheathing a red glowing blade into a sheath behind his jacket. The boy was none other than Leon Renaldo.

After sheathing his sword, Leon looked at the group before sighing and saying "Thank god that one worked"

"Who's this?" Schwarz asked with a raised eyebrow while pointing at Leon.

Leon's crimson eyes scanned over Schwarz for a moment before he said "Leon Renaldo, dimmensional specialist and moderately recent addition to the Slayers. Please tell me that'll be enough for you, because I've recently had to escape from something akin to a living hell, and I'm really not in the mood to have an unnecessary fight."

He then looked around at his surroundings and, with a semi-puzzled look on his face, asked "Mind telling me where we are exactly? I kinda teleported to the resonating energy source of you guys, so I have absolutely no clue whatsoever where I've ended up."

OOC: If anyone is gonna fight him, I call dibs. Evan's the one who's shown the most interest in Sakura. Presently, both him and Jack have made sacrifices to save her, and both of them have confessed to her to some extent. I think Evan has a bit more chemistry with her, but then, I'm quite biased. So in other words, can Evan fight Jack? Also, Mako's one of the few people on this site who I haven't battled yet who I know is capable of doing so.

That is, if Jack fights one of the Slayers at all. As things stand, it looks like he's set up not to. But there's a decent chance he's just manipulating the group, although fairly unlikely from a metagame standpoint. Outside of this, though, he has done little to acheive his in character goal, so it is viable.

Evan followed the group in silence. A part of him was disappointed he wouldn't get to fight Demeter. But it was something else that was bothering him. The reason he didn't step in when he had to fight Schwarz. He'd need all of his energy if he was going to fight Jack. The people in this group were his friends. Even Jack, he considered his comrade, even if he didn't like him much personally. He had to be the one to fight him, the one to take him down. He had to be the one with the blood on his hands, to live with the guilt if he had to kill him. He didn't want t let his friends put that burden on themselves. He hoped at least Jack would be willing to listen to reason.

His moment of introspection was interrupted by an explosion of light. A man stepped out, introducing himself as Leon.

"Say who?" Evan asked. "...I don't remember you. Does anyone else?" He had no idea who the guy was. He seemed familiar, though...Was he the guy who sometimes brought pizza?...No, he had a mustache.

"...If you want to join us, go ahead. I'm the boss, and Klay's the other boss, but he's off fighting, so Sakura's the other boss." Evan turned to Sakura. She seemed a bit bothered. She had the whole time, but then, everyone did, the past couple years had been leading up to all of this. He'd ask how she was doing, but now was not really the time for small talk and hugs.

"Come with us if you want." Evan said. "If you see a blond guy with a bottle of booze, though, I need to deal with him."

ooc: I wasn't talking about Brine fighting him because of Sakura. I was saying that Brine is probably the closest apart from Sakura, kinda like brothers. It would be a brother versus brother thing with tons of emotion and junk like the obi-wan vs. Anakin fight except better. But like you said, he probably isn't fighting at all.

Brine's eyes went to Evan and he frowned. He could tell that Jack loved Sakura, it was in his eyes, plus it didn't help that he turned red as a tomato around her. But Evan also liked her, he has pretty much announced it to the world. If it turned into a battle for the girl nothing would stop either one from killing each other. On the other hand Jack was probably the only person he was really close to in the slayers and he betrayed him, but at least Brine would let him try to explain himself.

OOC: Poor Jack has everyone after his head.

IC: Jack shook his head. "Not whiny. Annoyed." He corrected her with a pensive look. "I mean I know that they're coming for me... and that one of them wants my head on a platter." He shrugged looking idly at his book. "And the one... he's like my brother..." Jack sighed. "If only I could make them understand the reality of their precarious situations... but I know that they are all too stubborn to truly comprehend what I did for them." He sighed, taking a step towards the door once more. "I think I should meet them with open arms rather than waiting for them to come to me. I may as well face the music. After all, I would like to see her face again. Before the end."
