Thread: Bounty Hunters Part II: The New Era

"Hmmmm." The figure smiled before he got on top of the window sill and proceeded to jump downward, making a perfec landing on the floor. "Not bad, risking your life for your friends." he said as he looked at the Pegasus. "Pegasus tend to be the first to attack but they'll top their strike if they truly see that their opponent has no ill will, when your other friend suggested him to let them through he could see that if he didn't then he would still have to fight but with you it was different."

Klay looked at the man curiously for a moment. He had combed back short grey colored hair along with a matching beard, something that matched with the few wrinkles that were already showing on his face. He was wearing a white lab coat that was smeared with dried blood on the back of it along with a hawaiian shirt and a pair of black colored shorts. "So you guys are the Slayers huh?" he scratched his beard for a moment.

"I'm actually from Zero." Jason stated.

"And you lot came here to heal a couple of your members from what I gather." he pointed out before turning around. "Okay then follow me." he said before he began walking. "By the way, you may call me Reese."

"Next time and do me a favor and try not to make my ears buzz when I've been drinking." Jack said as a greeting, if you could call it one. "It ends up feeling so off."

"Don't send telepathic waves without asking." Reese nodded hsi head sagely. "It's rude." he pointed out before grinning as he kept walking. "Anyways I'll take you guys to my office room, that way I can see what I'll be working with better."

Stephanie smiled as she realized the Pegasus had stopped and willing to let them go. "Thank you" Stephanie told the Pegasus, admiring it for a moment and following the others, staying behind them. "We really don't mean any ill will, we had a tough day and these guys do need serious help. And I imagine I could use some sleep myself" Stephanie commented to Reese, she did feel tired from using her energy constantly, only resting in the hot tub, it was more of actual sleepness then when the water had affected her.

Jack rolled his eyes but didn't comment further. He knew that his team needed the healing far more than he needed to win the debate with Reese.

Reese had led the others into a large office room inside of the building, the room had been kept orderly and seemed to really resemble and actual doctor's office. "So a crater in the chest and a heart condition, this should be easy." he said before looking at Klay. "I'll deal with you first."

Brine slapped Jack. "No, bad slayer bad. Don't start fights with the help." Brine turned to Reese, "Seriously, I did the same thing, I guess this just goes to show that women have a gentler touch. So doctor, will this bone go back in place?" Brine said, poking a rib.

"I can heal it actually." He nodded his head before sitting Brine down and looking at the crater. He held his hands forwad and proceeded to close his eyes. "I'm gonna need you to relax first though." he stated. Suddenly, golden colored energy began to course through his hands as he put them close to Brine's chest.

Brine almost freaked out before he remembered what the doctor said and laid back.

He put his hands in front of Brine and began to move them around, almost as if he was searching for something. Eventually he placed the palms on him and sure enough the wound started to glow the same colore as the energy. He breathed in and out multiple times. The feeling of the energy was powerful, as if it grasped the soul and began to rejuvinate it and take away all of the bad parts. Reese sighed once more as the wound began to close and the bone started to slowly go back into place.

"The art of healing life." Reese spoke. "Have you ever heard of Reiki, it's a type of art that allows a person to channel their vital energy to someone else, this can be used to heal wounds, well lower ones." he explained. "What I used is an advanced form of Reiki that uses Life Energy to heal bones, fractures, open wounds, bleeding wounds and the like." he explained. 'While you could've easily applied Stardust to it, it would still not heal it completely, thanks to my Reiki you are now 100% ready to go."

He then grinned at Brine. "In fact, you should be better than before."

"Hey dontchu judge me Mr. Sassy Pants doctor," Brine sassed jokingly. Brine then got up, "Woah actually I feel less tensed like after a great massage."

Jakku sat in the corner of the room, looking out of the window.
He took a swig from his hipflask, and coughed as a small bloom of yellow smoke emerged from his mouth.
He sighed, and coughed again.
Scratching the back of his head, he got up and joined the others near the doctor's desk.

Shimo groaned.
So, we have no leads?
She stuck her hands in her pockets.
...Could we use the ship's scanners to isolate instances of that guy's energy, or energy from the pills, or those pills' chemical composition...?

"Brine you're lucky the good doctor just healed you." Jack muttered. "Otherwise I'd put you right back on that operating table."

"Then that means the treatment's working." Reese gave a hearty laugh before he turned to Klay. "Now you." he moved his chair so that he was sitting in front of Klay and proceeded to put his hands onto his chest. "You're not coming to heal that Hellfire wound right, cause that's something even I can't heal." he shook his head.

"No, just the heart condition." Klay nodded his head at the man, a little saddened that there really was no way to heal the hellfire wound.

Reese nodded his head in agreement before proceeding to make the same energy course through his hands and positioned them above where Klay's heart was supposed to be. However, after a few seconds of these he gasped slightly. "You have a Demon Contract don't you?"

"Yeah, a Devil Mark." Klay nodded his head. "I was born with it." he actually saw Reese's face become even more shock before a warm smile crossed his face as he looked at Klay. "What is it?"

"Ah...nothing, it's nothing." he stated. "You see the heart condition isn't from using too much energy during fights, well it's not just from that, it's because of the Devil Mark." he pointed at Klay's hand. "A Demon Contract is a special kind of requirement that's made, through this a person may gain a specific ability that comes from that contract, however each contract has a Condition that is met whenever it is used."

Klay thought back to Evan, as well as his Demon Eye, while it was able to trace anyone and anything, as long as it wasn't blocked it had the Condition that whenever he used it he would become more vulnerable to his Contractor's control. "A Devil Mark is a Contract that gives the user a great boost in power, however because the contract relies on evil energy it causes a strain on the normal body."

"Due to this whenever you use your Devil Mark to its full potential your heart and the rest of your body becomes even more strain." his tone became more somber and worried. "It isn't just your hear, your whole body is starting to give out as well."

Klay opened his eyes wider once he heard this. The Devil Mark was what he used as his Limit Break and it was a great asset to him as it increased his power exponentially, but if he wasn't able to use the mark then it would just become harder for him to fight. "I see." he muttered.

"You're a Life Energy user right, a Four Beast Style practioner at that as well right?" he stated, though his tone of voice sounded as if he was faking the fact that he didn't know. "Because of that you must have great sensing abilities as well as energy channeling abilities. There is a solution to this problem actually I could give you a special treatment that requires you to take multiple treatments of Reiki."

Klay smiled at this. "I'll do it, what's the condition?" he pointed out.

"You have to stay here fore two months, that's how long it will take the treatment to work." Reese explained. "I will also teach you to use Reiki as you are required to use it on yourself every once in a while even after the treatment is over."

Klay didn't know what to say. If he stayed for the treatment it would mean that he would have to be away from the Slayers for two whole months, and with the increasing threat of the Red Spiders he still didn't know how big of a risk it was. He looked at the rest of the group carefully before turning to look at Jakku and smiling. "I'm going to be taking a bit of a break." he nodded his head. "Evan is co leader but the real Evan hasn't come back and Sakura already takes care of so many things." he stared at the man with a more serious and demanding expression. "As my right hand man I'll entrust the Slayers to you for th etime being Jakku."

Jakku drew his sword, and knelt on one knee, with the sword across his leg.
"No hunter shall come to harm before your return."
He said solemnly.
He got up, and nodded.
