Thread: The Baerlon School of Power

The Last Battle has been fought. Rand al'Thor has defeated the Dark One and banished him into the depths of the Pattern. Peace has been restored to the world, and, due to the Dragon's Peace, no nations are ever at war. As the Aes Sedai returned to Tar Valon they found it destroyed by a bubble of evil. The Asha'man returned to the Black Tower to find it mostly destroyed by the fighting that had liberated it.

The two factions, came together, the male and female channelers of the One Power converged, and started the Baerlon School of Use in the One Power. The school encompassed both saidar and saidin,the two halves of the One Power. Here they could bring the new generation of channelers into the new Age of Legends. Doubtless many of them would become great leaders and channelers in their own right.

In this RP RPers will be students at the Baerlon School of Power. You are entering into a new age, an Age of Greatness, and Age of Legends.

Basic details:

The School:

The Students are housed in a group of thirteen Lodges scattered across Baerlon, an old mining city. For the sake of this RP everyone will be in the same Lodge. They go to school in the Grand Hall, the old mayoral hall, where they learn how to practise the one power. Outisde the city fields for recreational activities and practical use of the power have been created.

Female Students enter the Academy as Novices, males as Apprentices

When they reach a certain stage Females gain the title of Dedicated and a ring depicting the Great Serpent. When Males reach this stage they get a silver sword pin and become Dedicated

At the end of your time at the Academy you will have risen to the rank of Aes Sedai or Asha'man, gaining the Shawl or the Gold Dragon Pin, depending on whether you are Female or Male respectively. At that point you will join an Ajah

The Ajahs:

There are many Ajahs, which run like Guilds within Baerlon and outisde. They now have their own Ajah Houses scattered throughout the city:

The Blue Ajah is a society dedicated to finding justice and cause. They have the most extensive Eyes and Ears network. The head of the Ajah is known as the First Selector.

The Red Ajah, which, before saidin was cleansed was devoted to hunting male channelers who would have become mad otherwise, is now the Ajah dedicated to Policing the Continent, patrolling borders with the Aiel and acting as an independant force of aid. The head of the Red Ajah is known as the Highest.

The Yellow Ajah specifies in Healing. The Head of their Ajah is known as the First Weaver

The Green Ajah is a fighting organisation, dedicated to fighting wars. Their leader is known as the Captain-General.

The Grey Ajah is one known largely for politics and mediation. The head of the Ajah is known as the Head Clerk

The Brown Ajah is responsible for the collecting and management of knowledge. Their leader is the First Chair, the head of a council.

The White Ajah is a society dedicated to logic and reasonning. Their head is known as the First Reasoner.

Each Ajah has Six Sitters, three Male, three Female, that sit on the Baerlon Council, the group that runs the School and the whole complex, which in turn governs all channelers of the One Power. It is headed by the Amyrilin Seat.

The Baerlon School is run by the thirteen Lodge Masters/Mistresses and also the Master/Mistress of Hall, the headmaster or headmistress.

Rules of the RP:

1. Normal BMG Rules.
2. What I say is Law.
3. As students of the Academy your knowledge of the One Power is nil. You don't even know how to channel yet, although you soon will.
4. PG-13 please
5. Anything more than kissing and it goes to PMs.
