Default TV Tuner disconnecting the Internet?

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 850 USB TV Tuner, and whenever I plug it into my computer, near my Netgear WNA1100, the Internet signals weaken to enough that I am unable to connect. Is this issue fully interference, or do you guys think that there is a device issue here?

I think it's interference. Try using a wired connection instead to be sure.

I'll try that when I get the chance; my router is in another room.

Does the TV tuner broadcast in and of itself? the only thing that will interfere with the wireless router is a 2.4MHz broadcast...It's likely that at least one of them will have a switch to allow it to search for a new channel in the 2.4MHz range, if you can find that button, you can possibly solve the problem.

If the tuner isn't broadcasting itself (or using wireless to get from the aerial to the tuner), I have no idea what your problem could be.

Also, make sure your microwave is off, that can leak 2.4MHz radiation)

We were having issues with our computer not picking up the router, and when we were troubleshooting, there were a ton of things that could cause interference - cell phones, other wireless devices, microwaves, and for some reason, baseboard heating (O.O). I'd say to check everything and if all else fails, get your internet checked out. Ours had to have the cable replaced shortly after our router started to bug out.

See, my issues are that, without the tuner connected, I have internet fine. Without the internet connected, the tuner works fine. The tuner works seamlessly with the internet on other computers with built-in Wi-Fi. I've even put a working computer in the same spot, and it's still fine. I've concluded that the issue isn't interference.
