Default RAM latch interfering with PCIe card input

So I got a PCIe 16x video card today, tried to put it in the PCIe 16x slot on my motherboard, and the RAM latch was blocking it my a few millimeters. I think the problem is my motherboard's (G31-M7 TE Ver. 6.5), but the video card has a heat distributor thing that the latch is getting too cozy with (XFX/ATI Radeon HD 4350). Does anyone know what I can do to get this to fit?

    EDIT: Thought this might help.

Please lock this thread. I figured it out; I shaved the RAM latch.

Whoever designed that motherboard should be fired, were they expecting a bare PCB to be installed in that PCI-E slot?
