Do you need to get a Memory Stick in order to save a PSP game?

Yes. Just grab a 1 or 2gb one, that's all you need to save. Some newer games have optional install features though.

On the PSPGo, it uses the 16gb built in memory like a memory stick.

Do you think 1 or 2 gb is enough??

If you're like me, or are planning on using homebrew, or saving music and videos and stuff, you'll want at least 4GB. 8GB if all three.

I'm not that fancy, I only plan on using it to save my games.
