I have three original DS phats and four DS Lites.

I picked up one DSi already. I just use an SP if I feel nostalgic.

Most people b--ch about the lack of a GBA slot. I pretty much don't give a f--- anymore about reverse compatibility. It all died when they stripped the DS of the any GB capabilities.

If you look at each version, they pretty much slowly eliminated features w/ each incarnation.

Plus the store didn't have any when I was out today.

You could justify the DSi as a portable hard drive to yourself; I am.

I don't like that they don't play .mp3s and I'd have to convert all my songs to .aac format... I'm still probably getting one though... I suppose that my cell phone can remain my main music player.

No idea. I'm assuming they're lazy, since there was just a DS Lite on display. And I would, but DSi just doesn't have a USB or FireWire port... so I'd be SOL.

I would keep using my DS... but its top screen's been messing up more and more each day... I worry about how soon it'll be unplayable.

Actually its not .aac, its .m4a and the reason MP3 format was not used is because advanced Audio Coding (AAC) is designed to be the successor of the MP3 format and AAC generally achieves better sound quality than MP3 at many bit rates.

I have actually noticed this and this is why Apples iPod music format is this over MP3

Well, DCM, not too sure what you mean by "non fan boy" but the screens are way bigger, most games on the DSi Shop ar epretty cheap, picture clarity=amazing, and the Internet browser is super fast, for a non-computer like device, but I personally love it!
