    Default Games are SLOW.

My PC is very slow with PC games. It's Windows Vista Home Basic, and I'll tell you the specs when I find them.

What pc is it? A Desktop or a laptop?
If it is a desktop, try upgrading the RAM and GPU. There are decent GPUs for low prices available.

The main thing is your RAM. About 4GB is good for running PC games fast. You may also want to upgrade to Windows 7; it runs faster than Vista.

I don't have the money to really upgrade anything. I'm using a Laptop.

    Here are the specs:

    Manufacturer: eMachines

    Model: eMachines D620

Processor: AMD Athlon Processor 2650e 1.60 GHz

    Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB

    System Type: 32-bit Operating System

I don't know what Graphics card I'm using but it's roughly

    ATI Radeon 2600+ (I think)

This may sound silly, but I'd suggest you download Auslogics Disk Defrag. It's a freeware and it works incredible well. It does this:

Disk Defrag doesn't only defragment files - it prevents further files fragmentation by merging free space on the disk into a large contiguous block.
It works incredibly fast and I couldn't be happy with it personally. I'm not saying this will speed up your computer, but it might clear things up a bit, compacting space, and with any luck, it might have some effect.

    Click.

Your RAM might be holding you back. Try getting an upgrade from newegg.com. Their prices and selection are great.

If you don't have the ability to pay for anything to help you, we can't really do much.

All 3 components that really help games (graphics card, CPU and RAM) are all pretty behind-the-times. 4GB of RAM or more is about what you need, today; and if you haven't at least got a Core 2 Duo (or some equivalent) or better, clocked at around at least 2.5GHz, you're usually out of luck. And your graphics card... the Radeon HD2600 series is ancient.

Sorry, but you will need to upgrade to get them to run faster. Or just turn the settings all the way down, but then you won't get as good graphics.

Try getting more RAM, or, better yet, upgrade to Windows 7. It's faster than Vista, and it might help you with your slow game problem.

Vista removed a technology from DirectX called DirectSound. To my knowledge, they never put it back in. This isn't the case with Windows 7, which I believe was either added back in or emulated somehow. But I know that older games run slow with Windows Vista. In an extreme case, you might be able to downgrade your laptop to Windows XP. My laptop was designed for Windows Vista and came with it preinstalled but I took it off and installed Windows 2000 which made a huge difference.
