The only WiFi DS Adapter I'd suggest you to get is the official Nintendo Adapter, which works fine for me on Windows 7.

It, however, is no longer in production and costs a lot on Amazon, so if you want to buy it you could try looking for it on eBay. Don't buy the non official ones, I bought 2 kinds which didn't work on any OS.

The official one looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Wi-Fi-USB-Connector/dp/B000CBWQUY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1298815079&sr=8-2

Also remember, the adapter requires Port 80 to connect with Nintendo. If Port 80 is blocked by your ISP (most ISPs do so now), then no adapter would work for you.

If you have x64 7, the Nintendo USB adapter won't work. Same with the datel Wifi max. You will need to make a softap, which can take some tech skillz. If you decide to do that, here is a tut, it varies from wifi card to wifi card.

will i have to lower the sercurity on my router? because that wa the sauce of the problem.
i used to get loads of events on pt(shaymin, darkrai and secret key all legit) then my dad gets a nice new router and hey look at this my ds wont connect. find out its the sercuirty and my dad wont lower it( because of hackers.
i really like the gts and mystery gift. i used to go out somewhere were there was free wifi and staand outside getting pokewalker routes.

cant do it anymore because it wont connect.

its a very sad story in my eyes (main because its about me)

my dad has got tech skills so thanks if this works.

    1. Please don't bump.
    2. You don't need to lower security if you use the dongle.

The Nintendo WiFi USB adapter does NOT work with Windows 7 as I have it as well and it doesn't work with my current laptop.

If you don't want anything unofficial and want to risk that you could really buy any knock-off out there right now like the WiFi Max or anything similar. Just go to the local tech store (ie Best Buy) and ask them for a Wireless WiFi USB.

Another choice is searching around locale restaraunts and coffee shops for free WiFi. ;)

I wouldn't recommend it. At least where I am, Nintendo WiFi's port is blocked at pretty much every place in my city.
