Chibi-Robo, that helpful, quirky cleaning bot has a new game for the 3DS. Like the Wii remake of the original game and the vacuum game for the DS it looks like they may just keep it in Japan. I sent a letter to nintendo asking if there are any plans to release it internationally and this was the response:

Hello,

*

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments about Chibi-Robo.* At this time, we haven't announced any plans to bring the*Chibi-Robo game you mentioned over here a release*in the Americas; however, I'm happy to forward your comments so your feedback will be heard.

There are many reasons that Nintendo or any other publisher may decide to release a game in one market, but not another. These can include difficulty or cost of localization, the size and financial strength of the publisher, the size of the distribution network, and (most often) the idea that the game will simply not be accepted or enjoyed in another market.
***********
I understand that there are (like you) real fans of these games and franchises in this market who would love nothing more than to see these titles on store shelves in the Americas. In fact, there are many of us here who share your interest in these titles. However, the number of interested fans may constitute too small a portion of the gaming public to justify the costs associated with bringing a game here. On the other hand, there have been times when decisions were made to bring certain titles to the Americas after having been released exclusively in another market.
***********
While I can't guarantee that the newest Chibi-Robo game*will be released here in the Americas, we do take all feedback into consideration. Your comments help us to understand what is important to our fans.
***********
As news comes available regarding future products, we post any announcements to our website (Country Selector at Nintendo). Keep an eye on our site for all the latest information.*With luck, maybe we'll see this little robot helping us out on our Nintendo 3DS systems soon!
***********
Sincerely,

*

The games come highly rated but have been screwed for releases. The GameCube game came out towards the end of of the GameCube's life and the DS sequal became a hard to find Wal Mart exclusive and I believe skipped Europe entirely. I know there are others out there that are fans of the little bot. If enough interest is voiced they may consider releasing the new game internationally. Rather than a petition, I'm asking anyone else who wants to see Chibi-Robo again send their own message to Nintendo. After all, Nintendo once announced they had no plans of bringing Pokemon across the seas not believing it would catch on in other countries. We all know how that turned out. So come on, together we can convince Nintendo to give Chibi-Robo a chance!
