Thread: What's your favorite Japanese sportspeople?

As the title says, you can enter some Japanese people's name into your post. All sportspeople (including those in football, motorsports, skiing and any other form of sports) are acceptable. However, ANIME AND MANGA CHARACTERS, AND VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS ARE TOTALLY BANNED IN THIS THREAD. So you must provide an answer regarding real-life Japanese sportsmen.

Here we go. Mine is Nobuteru Taniguchi and Satoshi Motoyama (both involved in motorsports).

Being a hockey fan, I must say Yutaka Fukufuji. First Japanese player to play in the NHL, and as a goalie at that (which many people will say is the most difficult position to play).
