Thread: Touhou?

Wow. Surprised I've not found this here. Even did a search and nothing came up.

Well, here it is. The question: how many here know of or have played the games of Project Shrine Maiden? Personally, I've only played Embodiment of Scarlet Devil so far, and boy is it hard. But not in a bad way; it's definitely a challenge to keep from dying when getting shot at by books. Yes, books.

Anyway, I'm also here to bring up a question. The creator and sole programmer, music director, and everything else to do with the yearly game that comes, ZUN, has said he'd prefer that Touhou stay an insular fandom, with no real branching. Now, personally, I think his fear comes from what's happened to Pokémon more than anything.

Never played the games, but I love the art.

Where do I get them? I'm really wanting to try this out for myself.

They're around. If you can read Japanese, great. If not, there's patches for English, which is what I used.

If anyone is intrested there's a pokemon firered hack invoving Touhou called Touhou Puppet Play(Touhoumon) you can get a English version of it but the Japanese ones have more features.
Does anyone have a favorite character

Hmm, I don't know whether it's allowed or not, but I'd suggest that we steer clear of rom and hacks discussions if we could. I don't want anyone to get in any trouble.
