'Takeshi's Castle' - Game show
So, any of you have heard of or watched Takeshi's Castle before? I used to watch it all the time.
It's somewhat similar to Wipeout, contestants had to complete the challenges and overcome obstacles.

I love this show! It's so much better than Total Wipeout imo. It's so much more wackier and much more funnier. Unless I'm mistaken, no one has ever actually won on the show have they?
Also it's so weird that Takeshi Kitano, the guy who owns the castle, is a distinguished actor/director, starring in Battle Royale and having directed Hana-Bi, as well as other films.

I have seen a few people winning the final showdown but 95% of the time, they all lose. It doesn't matter anyway, because the winner gets nothing in the end xD

Oh wow, I remember this. I used to watch this every morning before I went to school back in my Primary days, it was always amusing. I can remember how hard I used to laugh at the contestants, especially when one would appear in an outrageous costume or just plain wacky gear. Gah, I miss Takeshi's Castle.

OMG I love this! The name always reminded me of Brock.

Like the linked WP page says, the UK edit of the show aired in Finland. I watched it, not regularly but still quite often, and thought it was quite funny.

It aired in the Netherlands for a while with two Dutch guys doing commentary. It was always pretty fun to watch.

I like this show. It's fun. I've watched eps/clips of Takeshi's Castle on places like Youtube, though. I'm a sucker for stuff like that. And it's so cool seeing 80s stuff. MXC, on the other hand, grew old really fast for me. It was more obnoxious to me than entertaining.
The concept for the show was an interesting one, especially since, to my knowledge, the original intent was to have the show be like a "live-action Mario game", hence some of the platforming obstacles.
