It's official now.
No word on anime, but this is a huge step forward for that too.

They did make an anime, almost 20 years ago :P
Well shoot. About Damn time if you ask me.
The anime better be re-released too.
The news has really been getting around, even MTV and AP (I know right?) have reported it!

PHILADELPHIA >> Sailor Moon is setting sail for the U.S. after a six-year absence in print.
Kodansha USA Publishing LLC said Friday that it will release new deluxe editions centering on the iconic manga character that helped cement the Japanese comic art form with American readers in the late 1990s.
Naoko Takeuchi's "Sailor Moon" will relaunch in September under the Kodansha Comics imprint. It will be accompanied by a two-volume prequel series titled "Codename: Sailor V," the first time it will be in print in the U.S. In it, teenager Minako Aino will fight as Sailor V against the Dark Agency before discovering Sailor Moon.
The "Sailor Moon" comic will be released every two months starting in September and feature new cover art, retouched interior art, new dialogue and bonus material never before published in the U.S. The books will be distributed by Random House Publisher Services.
Now if we could just get the anime, id be so happy

i JUST spent like $100 on a bunch of the Tokyopop manga volumes back in November T_T lol thats life.
i am honestly SO excited for this and i can't wait to get these, even if it is re-buying a retranslation. im really excited to see how Kodansha USA's translation compares to Tokyopop's old one... as well as SO excited to finally have an English official release of Sailor V. \o\ \o/ /o/
Anime is still stuck in "rumor" phase for now, sadly. But hoping it isn't too far off. The manga announcement really cranked up the hype.

i'm assuming at this point that if the anime were to return, that we would get a redub, which i am pretty curious about what that would be like. also wondering if we will get an English version of that Italian DS game.
i also wonder if we'll ever see an NTSC subbed release of PGSM... (yeah right)
Funimation said they would do a total redub if they got the rights. As they are most likely candidate for the TV show, it will probably get a redub.
The DS game... is very very bad. I doubt it'll release over here at all (we aren't missing anything, really).

This is good news, I've been meaning to get the manga. Guess, I can look forward to buying Sailor V as well :D.
Whoa! After all these years Codename wa Sailor V is finally going to have an official US release? Now that'd be really nice to own.
id love to see Funimation get that dub, but im satisfied with the manga for now, thats a start

I wonder if they'll use dub names or original... The past manga mixed both.
