Thread: Do you remember the first anime you watched?

My first anime was either sailor moon, dbz, or Pokemon.

I'm not certain, but does Doraemon even have a dub for English speakers? I've only ever seen Doraemon here in Japan, never back home.

When I was young, Doraemon's second anime series (1979) would've still been fairly new (even to Japan), so no surprise why it wouldn't have been a first for me, given my age; espeically if a dub of it didn't exist yet.

I didn't quite hear of any English dubs of Doraemon, if you mean the ones distributed to the west. I have a VCD with an English dub of Doraemon though (the one about Momotaro Nobita, basically a kind of retelling of the famous Momotaro story), even though its dub quality might not be good compared to many dubs (like Pokemon).

Pokémon, Digimon, Sailor Moon and Magic Knight: Rayearth when I was little, but I didn't think of them as anime instead of cartoon in general. Neon Genesis Evangelion was the first anime I watched while fully aware of it being anime, at age 12.

My first anime was either Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z, most likely the former.

Either Pokemon or Digimon.

Durarara (I think that's how many ras are in it) or Yu-Gi-Oh the movie.

It was either sailor moon, pokemon, digimon, or dbz. I can't remember which came first.

Pokémon. I don't remember when I started watching, but I was 3 or 4 at the time. I just started watching again, but now in Japanese. And what a difference it makes, it's awesome!

It was probably Sailor Moon when the dub first arrived on U.S. television.

The first anime I saw was Speed Racer. I didn't know that it was an anime at the time though, but it would still be the first anime series I watched. I'm pretty sure that the next one I saw was Sailor Moon, even though I don't think that I watched it for too long. Then, I got into Pokemon sometime after that and that was the first series that I knew was an anime. I don't think that I saw DBZ outside of those few times where I would watch it with my brother when he was recording the episodes.

The first and only anime I've watched was Initial D, which I started watching about a month ago on Netflix.

Maybe Shokojo Seira because back then, I didn't know it was an anime x)

Elfen lied was my first anime :)
