Thread: What is your favourite main series Mario game?

What is your favourite main series Mario game - Super Mario Bros., The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, (breath) Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, or Super Mario 3D Land? (yes, I'm not counting the two Super Mario Land games or Yoshi's Island) I'll let you have two votes in case you want to vote for a 2D game and a 3D game.

Mine would be Super Mario Galaxy 2, which is also my favourite game of all time in general.

I say SMG2 as well! This game and its predecessor are absolute masterpieces. Some of the best games ever, imo. SMG2 just beats out the first game for having Luigi playable earlier and having better levels and difficulty. Plus, Lubba is such a fun character. I do like Rosalina too though.

Mine would be SMW. It's my first Mario game I ever owned and played.

64 for sure.

I'm stuck between 64, NSMBW, and Galaxy 2. SM64 was my first ever VG/Mario game, NSMBW brought what made SMB3 and SMW great and included 4-player multiplayer, and SMG2 was better than the first title.

Super Mario Land. It's the only I've played.

Hmm... It's either Mario Sunshine or Mario 64... I can't decide.

Mine would be the one that started it all Super Mario Bros (1985) though he didn't really start there his real start was vs Donkey Kong(1978/79)

SMG2. The sheer number of hours I dedicated to that game. I loved every minute of it.

Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. DS,
Super Mario 64, Super Mario 64 DS, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World.

That's all I remember for now. Tbh though, I've played and beaten so much Mario games over the years I couldn't even remember all of them even if I tried :P

I'm happy That this is multiple choice, hate to have to choose!

I went with, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy one and two, and land 3D, they were all awesome.

Donkey Kong was 1981. Anyway, I don't really consider it a bona-fide main series Mario game as it's very different to any other main series Mario game, and plus you don't have the 'Super Mario' in the title either.

What about Mario Bros. then? The arcade game? :P

I don't count that either. Yes, it's a Mario game, but I don't count it as part of the main series.
