There are many shows I love to watch, so i can't really pick one as my favorite. Anyway here are several:
Extreme Homes – HGTV
I recently discovered that this show first premiered on HGTV back in 1997, and aired many episodes until April 2003. The show i guess went on a nearly 9 year hiatus and returned on 1/1/2012 in a more serial fashion. I stumbled onto this show while flipping through channels back in November last year and was instantly hooked. I have an interest in architecture and interior design (though not enough to seek a career in those fields) and this show offers a great spectrum of inspiration for me that I can use when i get my own place. From traditional to contemporary to unique, most if not all the homes are interesting, stunning, and beautiful to look at imo.
Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar: The Legend of Korra – Nickelodeon
Definitely once in a generation shows. There is no question that the world is one of the most original in recent media. I first found this show in around March/April of 2005 and “Imprisoned” was the first episode I saw. The artwork was what caught my eye, and the fact that such an unusual show was found on Nick of all places is something I found intriguing. I kept watching to see what this new world had to offer, and I was fascinated by its characters and their cultures.
The story for The Last Airbender is an exciting one, not just for it's premise, but for the personal stories that revolve around our characters. A premise as simple to understand as the story of The Last Airbender requires the characters it has to keep us seated and wanting more. And the team behind this show did not disappoint. With powerful characters, appropriate and achievable humor, stunning artwork, and a captivating soundtrack, this show deserves all the praise it gets.
The Legend of Korra is new. I dare not compare it to Airbender because I don't see the need to. I don't nor did I ever expect it to be another Airbender. All I expected was for the people behind it to give the same love and devotion to it as with the previous series. And so far I think they did. Sure the first season felt a bit rushed (or at least the ending), but with more episodes on the way, I have certainly forgiven it. Just like its predecessor, Korra delivers beautiful artwork and memorable music and characters, with Tenzin being my favorite so far. Amon is certainly a terrifying villain and his mask does nothing to diminish that quality. And of course his ending was something I found bold. Though in retrospect, it did match the tone of the season. It's already been 10 months since the season ended, which is a longer wait than between seasons 2 and 3 of Airbender, so the anticipation is killing me.
Seinfeld – NBC
A show about nothing. And yet it has so much. Any misfortune that befalls the four main characters you don't feel sorry for them, you just laugh because of their reaction or maybe because they deserve it. I think this is why George is my favorite character. They're not normal people and they're pretty much the perfect foursome to make this show last as long as it did. Not to mention the supporting cast. A plethora of victims of the four's antics, and they are just as hilarious. I may never get tired of this show.
