Thread: What is your favorite genre of music?

I like rock, most types of it anyway, including metal. This poll should really be multiple choice.

I generally like all music, but I adore folk music. I could listen to it all day.

I don't really have one anymore, my preferences change often. Either new genres intrigue me, or I rediscover old favourites after leaving them alone for a long time. Also some of my favourite artists are hard to categorise by genre.
If the poll was taken a few years ago, the answer would unequivocally have been Blues.

I plumped for Metal. Started getting into it over the last 12 months or so; Iron Maiden, David Lee Roth, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

But I love lots of 'old' music; 80's Pop, Power Ballads, Soft Rock and a bit of Electric Rock. For example, a list of my favourite bands would be: ABBA, ELO, Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani and Tom Petty, but other musicians worth a mention include The Human League, ABC, Toto, Leo Sayer, Rod Stewart, Primus and Tom Jones. I'm also a big fan of Classical; Beethoven, Handel, Strauss I & II, Grieg and Liszt is probably my favourite.

Finally, I adore 'Game Music', or music from Video Games. Specifically, the instrumentals on the menus. I have an extensive selection from games like Pokemon, Metal Gear Solid, Formula 1 97, ToCA Touring Cars, Gran Turismo.

A varied taste.

This should have been multiple choice. I picked other because I like them all - my fav genre changes everytime I hear something new and my ears love it.

I went with soft rock on the poll since I often like alternative bands with an edgy sound (Eisley, Flyleaf), but I'm slowly taking up jazz and jazz fusion (Fiona Apple, Michael Bublé).

I'll listen to anything that sounds nice, but my favourite has to be Hip-Hop.

Country (don't hate me). Country is what I listen to alot, but Homestuck has kinda made me start to like whatever genre those albums fit in, oh, and some form of soft rock or somethin', I'm not an expert on the rock or any other genre side of music.

I listen to a lot of different genres, but my absolute favorite is folk. <3

I like mainly Christian music and video game music(mainly from the Nintendo franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon)

Rock and metal, but mostly metal.

Alternative Rock has my vote, so I just voted for Rock like anybody else would.

Pretty much any style that isn't current pop, most hip hop, or country.
