What is your favorite genre of music?

I like different kinds of music, I just find out I like it. Some pop, some rock, some k-pop, and some others. I cant explain.

Rock for me

My favorite is metal by far, but I also like rock.

I love my Techno or anything with a really good beat. Along with Electro and House and just about all forms of Techno. Thank you Detroit for making my Techno. I also really like Smooth Jazz and listen to that at night while I sleep.

I enjoy country the most by far. Because it was set as my alarm to wake me up in the mornings, I naturally got to like it more until it became my favorite genre of music. A couple of other genres I don't mind hearing are jazz and video game music (that counts, right?).

I guess rock really. I listen to anything as long as it's good, but most of the albums I own are rock in someway.

Classical FTW! I hate almost any song/piece of music with words in it. Unless it's something like that thing the germs were singing in the Discovery Education video. They were adorable!

I'm a headbanger. I mainly listen to and enjoy metal, with a particular fondness for thrash metal, and a bit of power and speed metal. But I also listen to some other forms of rock, mostly classic hard rock and other classic metal as well.

I like all kinds of rock music, especially hair metal.

Detroit Techno, Dub Techno, Ambient, Deep House, Minimal Techno

Electronic, Hip-Hop, Pop, Alternative, etc.

I think it's weird that this poll is treating things as separate genres that are actually subgenres (like metal is one for rock).

Or that people are adding things that are already in the poll, that's the bigger issue. Like that classical is in there twice.

While metal is technically a sub-genre of rock, there are about a dozen recognized sub-genres of metal. So it's treated like its own genre.

I'm aware, there are also tons of sub-genres of stuff like punk or pop-rock.

It does make the "rock" designation kind of meaningless, though, since what technically falls under that if various kinds have their own categories?

Extremely varied taste but I'm a huge fan of Scandinavian power metal.
