I've been gravitating towards indie and nineties alt-rock lately.
Rock, alt-rock, nu metal. Occasionally some indie, country or alt-pop.
I said hip-hop before, but my interests have changed. I listen to mostly hard/alternative rock to alt metal and heavy metal, and older pop from like, 3-4 years ago.
My tastes in general go everywhere. Cause as long as it has a good beat, and doesn't hurt my ears I seem to have no problems liking it. Otherwise if I had to pick a genre it would probably be smooth jazz and pop since that's what I listen to the most. :3
Its definately country, with a close second going to a tie of rock and metal. My favorite artist are Aaron Tippin, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, Charlie Danials, Alan Jackson, and Montgomery Gentry. The reason I like country more is because thier songs fit better with how I live my life, while I have always considered rock to be my "war tracks".
I was thinking how it's good you have "rock" on there, because you have so many oddly specific kinds of rock in the poll I thought for sure it would split the vote.
I really have trouble with this question, because I like so many different types of music, but I suppose as a classical composer and musician I should go with classical (although that has as much if not more variety in it than rock does, it's just that non-classical fans don't always know the specifics - it makes it annoying when people who aren't musicians or classical fans ask me "what kind of composer" I am, because I never know how to explain it. I write "classical" music, but my music sounds nothing like the composers that most people usually know).
I've been listening to a lot of nu-metal and metal recently. And, strangely, a bit of Drum & Bass.
I listen to all kinds of music, but I voted for rock. My personal favorite would have to lie in the punk or alternative section, be it pop punk, rock punk, alternative rock, and so on. I'll listen to pop and I do like metal. Video game music, with lyrics or without, is also amazing. <3 I also listen to music in any language as long as I like it (German, French, Japanese, occasional Korean [I really like Vocaloid.]).
I do not, however, really like rap or country.
Whatever The Cure is. I'd choose rock for alternative rock, but I really really really don't like a lot of rock bands.
I like quite a few of those genres, namely Soft Rock, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul and Electronica and some other genres that aren't listed, but I voted for Pop.
I prefer only metal. The louder, more aggressive the sound and the solos, and the vocals I'll listen to it, but I also prefer the eeriee sounding instrumentals. Bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Nile, Divine Empire, Impaled, Suffocation, Deicide, just to name a few.
I also listen a lot to Japanese Pokemon songs
My favorite genre would have to be pop, but I like myself some soft rock and country occasionally.
However, I dislike "club music" (hip-hop, rap, etc.) and dubstep simply isn't music.
^Lies. All LIES.
Electronica/Dubstep for me. ;3
K-Pop! I never realised how amazing the music was until I started listening to it, now it's my become my favourite genre.
I'm changing my answer, dub techno all day every day.
And now you can add dub techno :P
Good dubstep, like Burial, is fantastic. The shit brostep like Skrillex and Excision is bloody awful though.
God, I hate the term 'electronica'.
