Nico di Angelo has come out of the closet? I was really surprised by this. Nico is one of my favorite characters in the Percy Jackson series. I feel so bad for Nico. Why Percy? Why do you need to be so cruel to some people? Percy's neglect is a recurring theme in this book.
Ancient Greeks supported homosexuality, especially the Spartans, more of a reason to protect your lover on the battlefield since Spartan men were not at home that much.
I'm sorry, but I no longer ship Percabeth because I don't understand it. I know "Seaweed Brain" is supposed to be Percy's pet name/nickname of affection, but if I was Percy, I would be offended by this. Also, I'm getting tired of Annabeth's observations of how she loves Percy's eyes. I still need to reread the series.
I'm kind of happy that Leo has moved on. Less awkward love triangle scenes! Also, happy that Frank gets character development, but I'm still afraid for him. What if some enemy who knows of his weakness, just snatches the pouch from him?
Honestly, I forgot that Leo, Piper, and Jason were a trio. Lack of interaction between Leo and Jason makes me question this best friend thing. Observation of characters jumps around.
Bob, Small Bob, and Reyna were some of the highlights of this book.
I'm starting to somewhat ship Octavian and Rachel Elizabeth Dare (I just noticed her initails spell RED and she's a redhead), but I'm really sure it's not going to become canon due to the fact that Octavian believes in himself and is very haughty.
Going to wait another year for book 5. At least, this would be the last of the series, I hope. Can't keep playing the waiting game.
