Because in America, the idea of a good Russian is unthinkable. (Well, at least when it comes to Russian men. Russian women are desired by a lot of American men for being "hot". I hate that - can't men be fanservice too?) And it might have to do with him being quite far from attractive. Americans like their ugly guys to be either villains or comic relief.

I agree that I'm tired of seeing Zangief being portrayed as a villain. I always found him funny (what with running around in a speedo, wrestling bears, and acting kinda gay).

Beyond excited. It looks completely awesome. It's gonna be interesting to see how they mix characters/genres of older games, like arcade games, and how the interact with new games like Halo (just as an example of the kind of game seen in the trailer).

Sonic the Hedgehog is in the movie as well?!

I'm seriously hyped for this movie. Prime mentioned that in one scene, he saw freaking Chun-Li walk by and I pretty much dorked right then and there. So yeah, seeing this one when it comes out.

It's too bad we may never see Mario and Sonic together in this movie, in a similar way as Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, since @Dragonfyre; told me he was too expensive.

From what I seen in the trailer, it seems like this will be a good movie. Can't wait!

I've known about this for a while. I really can't wait for it to come out, but as per usual Europe will get the short end of the stick.

Still, I'm stoked!

By the time the movie was about to start, the theater was already jam packed, which means the hype for this film must be really intense. This is definitely one of the best animated films of all time with its great storytelling and awesome game-related trivals such as urban legends and the famous Konami code.

Wouldn't call it one of the best animated films of all time, but certainly a good one and one of the year's best. Definitely a contender for Best Animated Picture next Oscars (and I think Paperman will have any awards for animated shorts in the bag).

I was pleasantly surprised by it. The video game thing wasn't treated as a gimmick like I feared, and it was just very entertaining over all. Hard to believe a pure Disney film is far superior to the Pixar one released the same year. (Brave was one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life)
