Thread: Stupidest thing you have done in a video game?

one time i was playing daimond, and i ran from azelf when i was fighting it, thinking i could fight it again, but i couldnt, i was mad, and every time i play that game again, i go back to azelf's cave, hoping it would return...

The stupidest in my opinion, that I even continue doing to this day, is throwing a grenade (especially if it's sticky) against the wall right in front of me or right beside me.

Also same with RPG's/Rocket Launchers. Oh hey lets blow these kids up. NOPE, somehow I shot the wall in front of me.

I used my master ball on a level 5 weedle I named Tomo in Pokemon(Leaf Green). God, that is so stupid. Why did I do that? I wanted to use that ball to catch an Articuno!

In my first playthrough of OoT, I had 99 skulltulas and backtracked through all of the dungeons and searched everywhere for the 100th. I ignored the tree near Kakariko's entrance (I was certain that I already had the skulltula in that tree) when I went into the village one (in-game) night looking for any skulltulas I might've missed.

You can guess my reaction when I realised that the final skulltula was the one in the tree I thought I had already collected.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: It wasn't until I was searching for the third dungeon when I found out you could use the wind sail to move across the sea faster. Traveling from island to island took way too long. XD

Paper Mario: During my first and second playthroughs, I didn't know you could negate some damage Mario takes by pressing A the moment an enemy hits him. It didn't make the game impossible to beat, but boy, did it make me feel silly discovering it later on. I should've paid closer attention to the tutorials.

Pokemon Yellow: I sent the starter Pikachu to another version and evolved him! I was curious to see what would happen, but I was so distraught he no longer followed me as a Raichu, I restarted the game to get another Yellow Pikachu, even though I had all 151 Pokedex entries. (I didn't lose any Pokemon, though. I put all the Pokemon onto Stadium 1 beforehand)

I was a total noob when I played Diamond. I killed Mesprit, AND saved afterwards, went up to the Spear Pillar at random times long after I beat the game "just in case," would listen to Pokemon's cries backwards for "clues," etc. I was an idiot.

Right now I can only think of a Pokemon example. Back in the old generation games I would try to give a Pokemon of mine something like a potion when they did not need it. I would get a message saying "It has no effect". In my mind I would be happy reading that because I thought it meant that the item did not make the Pokemon suffer from side-effects of any kind and thought it would be safe to use it on the rest of my team. I have no idea how many times I did that but I guess I learned eventually. Sometimes when I make that mistake now I just chuckle to myself on how much time I wasted doing that.

In TF2, I tried to sap a sentry.
