    Anyone can claim to hack.

Also, on my phone, I got SMS spam, one was "Happy Independence Day" with a spammy link a few months after it, and another one was "x Sent you a best buy gift card".

ugh my mom almost fell for that one. She got pissed at me for telling her not to click on it and instead closed it.
I ran our personal virus scanner and it found nothing, so i knew what she was about to click was a scam/Trojan.

i wish parents were more tech savvy :/

"OMG! Are you looking for hot Russian singles? Find the love of your life here!"

"[Name], someone in [hometown] sent you a message! Click here to read it, and sign up to see who else is looking for you!"

And there's always the annoying fb spam links that take you to Viagra websites and stuff. I get sad when I get those, because when I see the new notification I think "oh yay, someone wants to talk to me!" and then I find that spam on my wall from someone I don't talk to much and I am sad and delete it.

I got spam from a friend, a guy I worked on a project with (lead to a site selling OTC drugs) and another guy I worked on said project with (linked to a bullcrap get-rich-quick scheme.)
    Though one particularly scumbaggy move?
Both Mediafire and Megaupload do this, it's happened a lot elswhere too:
Pop-ups masquerading as the download button, piping bugs into the system.
I also got the bogus virus detection message--scared the living hell out of me 'till I realized it was fake.

I always seem to run into those scam ads saying that I can find over 12 single men in the area.

They make me feel REALLY awkward.
