Thread: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Pinkie was really well-written in the most recent episode. I'm not usually a fan (she's the only main cast member I don't like) but she claimed most of the episode's great moments. Pinkie is really at her best when the writers acknowledge what a pain in the arse she can be.

Also, I dunno why people are getting on poor AJ's case about being "dishonest". Firstly, she never lied. Secondly, just because a pony embodies a particular element, it doesn't mean she will always act accordingly. Everyone has their bad days. We have seen Rarity being selfish, Pinkie being depressed and so on... often in far more blatant fashion than AJ's technical concealment of the truth in this episode.

I really enjoyed this week's episode, Derpy fangirl aside XD; I love Derpy, idc. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT WENT WRONG!!!!

My initial reaction was that I thought Applejack would have more pride than she did over losing. I didn't think she would go to such extremes to cover up her failure, I mean, never going back to Ponyville? The mayor did keep harassing her about "BRING BACK DAT MONEY GURL" a lot before she left, though. In the end, JUST BLAME DERPY, THOUGH, AMIRITE??? But after I watched it again it settled okay with me, idk. The thing that made her failure obvious to me was that they didn't show her doing anything at the rodeo itself, just cut to when she was meant to return. I didn't think AJ was being "dishonest" so much as she didn't want "dishonor" :3

I agree that Pinkie really shined in this episode though, and Pinkie and Rarity, at the end...A+++++++

I agree with what Bikini Miltank said -- not only have we seen Pinkie being non-festive, we've seen Rarity being selfish (Spike episode, anyone?), and even in the most recent episode, we've seen RD not being loyal. It's definitely not a hard-and-fast rule, it's just mostly... their strongest attribute.

I agree with what everyone said above, although I can't help but be disappointed that even though this was supposed to be Applejack's episode, she was so easily overshadowed by Derpy and Pinkie. It was by no means a bad episode, it's one of my favorites in fact, but after waiting so long for an Applejack episode and having it not really focused on Applejack that much, I found that aspect disappointing.

I agree with Insanish Danish on the ep. not having enough applejack.hope fluttershys next episode isn't like that.

Blargh, the computer gods have not been on my side lately.

Anyway, I freaking loved this episode. Pinkie was brilliant, Fluttershy reminded me why she's my favorite pony, Derpy was Derpy, and just the whole episode was great. The last two episodes have reminded me a lot of season one. Season one with more atmosphere. So yeah, season two has been fantastic as of recently. The writers should take breaks more often if it means we get awesome stuff like this episode.

I'm hoping the next few episodes in the lineup will be like this. :D

Regarding Read It and Weep.

Doesn't sound like an exciting premise for an episode, but then again, it does have Rainbow Dash in the starring role - she can make anything interesting. And there hasn't been an episode I've truly hated. Not yet, anyway.

I have a feeling "Read it and Weep" might be cute. I mean really;

"Rainbow Dash secretly discovers the joys of reading while laid up in the hospital."

Is that not complete and utter little kids' show fodder? Put in the hands of the Friendship is Magic team, I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy it because I think it's going to be, for lack of a more accurate term, campy. I dunno, though, I could be disappointed. I'm gonna stay dubious and try to not get my hopes up until it airs.

And on a completely unrelated note, I read "My Little Dashie" last night.

Equestria Daily: The Princess Cadence Playset has Appeared!

I'm not sure when these two will have any importance in the main show other than being OCs. Perhaps in the 3-Parter?

I wonder if this means we'll get more colt brushables in the future. I can see Big Mac being released in a set with Applejack or some other apple pony.
