I hope they don't go overboard on the brony fanon for season 3 because really, companies shouldn't depend on their fans on developing it because it shows that the execs are lazy.

From what I understand, it wasn't that it was delayed. It's just that people misunderstood what someone was saying at Comic-Con, and the actual planned premiere date was later than people had been reporting.

I hope so too, but if the board of who ever approves more brony things is, is essentially caught in a Catch 22. The writers and execs are in a bit of a tough pickle with this fandom. Very early on fans loved it because the staff was just doing their own thing, not pandering at all and adding sight gags whenever they felt like it.

That's what made the show awesome to early viewers.

Enter post-bronydom and you've got a variety of tastes all over the place. Small bunches of fans want to see things the fandom has created in the show while a lot of others want it to stay it's own pace outside brony culture. Obviously, the two have already crossed lines with Derpy, Octavia, Dr. Whooves and DJ-Pon3. And then the effect on toys like Lyra and Trixie. To an extent I'm fine with those kinds of additions.

Jayson has stayed pretty clear that he's not trying to pander, though the Brony tug is definitely at play. It's a position I definitely don't envy and basically boils down to they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. The staff loves bronies, and they love minor shout outs because well, the fans demand it! And then they hesitate because the other fans demand they don't do shout outs.

I totally feel for them. It's definitely not easy to be in that position.

I don't care if fans have their way or not, I just roll with the awesome the show doles out and enjoy it from there ;3
If more fans took that stance, I think we'd have a whole lot less feudin going on.

^Of course, if some Brony fanon seems cool to the writers (as in they find something like Doctor Whooves, Lyra, Bon Bon or whatnot cool personally rather than shallowly pandering), then I see no problem in that. Just so long as they have plenty of their own ideas to back themselves up.

As for Season 3, will they doing a two parter season premiere and finale again?

I don't think it makes the creators lazy at all, I think it shows that they pay attention to their fans and it's their way of showing their support. Look at Derpy, for example. I doubt she would have ever got any speaking lines if it weren't for her internet popularity.

I think what Dennis was saying was that the show-runners shouldn't just sit and see how fans view a character and then extrapolate that to the canon show, which I definitely think should not be done. But looking at how things are currently, I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. :D

mother of Celestia...POINES GONNA PWN! My friend(who im not naming) is a huge fan of MLP FiM,and he finally convinced me to watch the show. i watched the first episode. and then the second one. and then i was hooked and ive seen almost half the series. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are my favs.

Less episodes, but Hasbro may be working harder for this season.

Let's have a look back on how I became a Brony last year.

My first step into the fandom with The Ticket Master DVD.

Hmm what was my life like before I got into pony...

I was looking at some old posts of mine and saw the Random Messages thread I made 2 years ago ... a month before the pony storm hit anyone anywhere.

Oh MY GOSH. My mind was already blown by ponies before ponies happened. I mean... it's not the exact figure we all know but I put 200% and Rainbows and unicorns everywhere. I do not know how to feel right now. I'm scared, someone hold me.

It was supposed to be all in irony, but now I dunno. This explains things about myself a little too much ._.

And then that November I got into ponies for real and the rest is magic.
