As to Korra regaining her bending- it would have to be some sort of "spirit quest". That is, she basically would have to go on a journey of self-enlightenment, and THEN she would be able to connect to the Spirit World and meet Aang, learn energybending, etc. That would've made for quite the epic second season.
Agreed. The ending was rushed and seemed like an end to the series. The original series had 20 episodes per season, so I don't understand why they didn't do that with this. They brought in Iroh, but we didn't get to know him, and then the thing with Amon and Tarlok was horrible. We don't even know what happened to Amon in his time after he left, or even why Tarlok became the way he did either. Too many plot holes in the finale, and no idea on what the second season will be.
I really just have to wonder what's going to happen with the second season. The way they wrapped everything up so perfectly here would have been fitting if it was a single season. But it seemed like they left nothing left to do. I was convinced once she lost her bending that the second season would be her relearning the 3 bendings she lost and trying to connect to the spiritual side now that she had gotten airbending down. But they took the last 3 minutes of the episode to remedy that, so I really can't tell where they'll be going now.
Maybe there will be a time skip And/or Korra could still be working on the divide between benders and nonbenders. (Assuming that line of people Amon was shown removing the bending from wasn't completely made up of gang members from the triads, Republic City still has them to worry about. Or maybe the next season will focus on fixing those problems in other areas around the Avatar world.)
It looked to me like
So does everybody know about Korra: Making of a Legend? Just making sure.
But while the wait for Season 2 begins, Nicktoons will offer fans a chance to learn more about the mythology and creation of the franchise, via the upcoming “Korra: Making of a Legend” special event, running July 9th – July 20th. All of the episodes from Season 1 will air again over these nights at 9pm ET/PT on Nicktoons.
In addition, each “creators cut” episode offers insight into the series, as the show’s creators and executive producers, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, provide commentary.
I didn't so thank you for posting about it! Can't wait to see it; I'm hoping it will delve into Korra's background a bit more.
Season 2 news--or rather Season 1, Book 2 now. LoK's getting 40 more episodes total: the 14 we knew about, and another 26!
That's 52 episodes--more than enough to get just as rich an experience as A:TLA was.
Aw mah gawd this is the best news ever.
I was reading the TV Tropes page on Korra for Fridge Brilliance, and I have to say, some of the things people have come up with add a bunch of new layers to the story's development so far. My personal favorite insight was when someone provided plausible arguments that Korra was opening her chakras throughout the series, culminating in her ability to finally connect with past avatars.
If anyone's into that kind of thing, here's the link. (Be warned, though, there's a lot of stuff to go through.)
Magnificent. And if this is just Book 2, imagine the possibilities for Books 3 and 4! I really like the whole expansion into her family as well as Aang's; there's so much potential there, I can barely keep from collapsing into a pile of giggling fanboyism...
4 books?! wow. hope we see koh again, my favorite spirit.
can't wait to see how the Avatar started, no doubt we'll have more info on before the Avatar as well.
