Basically, God had himself sacrificed to appease himself so he could convince himself to forgive us. Bwuh? Couldn't an OMNIPOTENT BEING just say "you're forgiven" without going through all that hooplah, or was he just THAT bored? I mean, last time I checked part of being omnipotent was being able to do ANYTHING, including forgiving humanity's sins without creating a mortal form of yourself on earth and having that form of yourself killed to appease yourself.
Someone care to explain why exactly God(who, according to pretty much all Christians I've seen around here, is omnipotent) had to do all that so we could be forgiven?
